A Little Bit of Happy....

This was, I must say, a mighty fine day. Didn't start OUT mighty fine, Dim was nothing but trouble. He's going to learn a few things during my lesson tomorrow, I will tell you that for certain. Stupid Rat Creature, he was.

But after that was a mighty fine day. My Gardens have been making me sad, largely because it looked like I was growing a Bed Of Weeds Of Doom, and I have been needing HELP. Which presented itself in the form of three lovely Gothy Girls who came over to visit.

Not sure that was their PLAN exactly, but I think we all had fun.

That's Finn (From Ireland and OctoCon where I am going this fall, Gabriel, and Alice)

My block is made up of some sort of Super Power Garden Masters. Every house on it has more garden than many, well, GARDENS. I've been feeling lately like the house where no one cares, and indeed, when we got all the weeds out of this bed, THERE WAS NOTHING IN IT. (Except strawberries.)

It's been one of the things that has been a little bit of sad every time I come home, like when you leave your house in a mess, and think you really should clean it up. And instead of that peace and contented feeling, it's a little more stress and Not Right. Same thing. I don't have that Garden Gene tho that might get me out to DO something about it, or the time, really.

These are the new Copper Top Post things I got some weeks ago. They made me a little bit happy, walking in. As did the purple petunia things in the hanging baskets. (If you water them, they will not die horrible deaths, I am learning these things)

But not the gardeny bits. Just sort of sad.

Now I am feeling little bits of happy. I wish I had taken BEFORE shots. It's hard to tell in these pics just how much work got done. (Even with Lola over for a visit) Or to see how very sweet they are now. Finn spoke about Foxgloves, which I love and haven't seen for years, and darned if there weren't a bunch on sale for half price where we went to get more Cedar Bits. Magic of Ireland, I say.

I wish I could tell them how much them coming and helping me meant. Or how happy I am, that they were here today. And how this little bit of happy is going to follow me when I leave, and be there every time I come home now. How now I feel like doing MORE and believe it is possible, and not a huge daunting task that I will never be able to accomplish.

Pretty darn cool to have made three new friends. The best gifts sometimes come out of no where, and come from time and sweat, just, well, because I asked them if they would help me.

(Thank you! Not something I will forget.)

The Gardens still need more, and they will get it. But now I have a bit of happy, and it is no longer the Garden Where No One Cares.

I couldn't find a pen to sign cd's for them, but I did find Bee Sealing Wax. Where the heck did I get Bee Sealing Wax from? Seriously! I had no idea, but there it was in my cupboard. Like some sort of "well, you have no pens here, but hey, have some Bee Sealing Wax" moment.

If this is the sort of Magic that follows one around Ireland, and Irish people, I am SO going to love this fall. I am beginning to understand all the Irish songs I have been playing for years, where they start out "As I walked out on a summer morning, in the morning early..." and go on to describe the most incredible adventures.

I used to think they made them up.

Not anymore.

It is well to remember that anything can happen. At any moment.

Love and Gardens,
Lorraine

  1. Squee! If ever I find myself in your neighborhood, I'll be sure to look you up for a bit of weeding.

What a great way to spend time together!

  2. Fabulous, you are. As are your new friends and now your yard.

    ReplyDelete
  3. oh fun:) and bee wax!

i love that you are now living and irish song. i hope to hear you play it some day

    ReplyDelete
  4. We could have fun going to the garden center, too. I'm a Michigan gardener - you guys have better winters - the snow stays on the ground, yes?

    ReplyDelete
  5. It is True. Anything can happen at any time! This makes life Fun!

  6. What a wonderful time you've had this week.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Excellent! I have always thought that this is exactly the kind of Magic that follows you around in Ireland.

    ReplyDelete
  8. It should be noted that pretty much the only plants in the OTHER side garden were the ones planted by Beez last year. They all came back. They all grew. And they are all purple.

It is not her fault someone ate the heads off the hollyhocks.

  9. BUNNIES!! WICKED DISAPPROVING WABBITS!

    heehee

    ReplyDelete
  10. Ya gardens! And bees wax! And Irish gals!

    ReplyDelete
  11. BTW, awesome beautiful Foxgloves and rockin' post toppers.

    Just lovely.

    ReplyDelete
  12. verra, verra nice. i'm enjoying the how of your storytelling as well as the stories, this week. :D

    ReplyDelete
  13. The silver sealing wax and bee seal came from Rome...

Foxgloves are lovely but do watch out as they are extremely toxic.

Sound like you girls had a good productive time!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yay! So glad you all had a good time, and the garden is full of happy, now.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Your songs are amazing. The music you play with Dr. Score is some of the best I've ever heard. It's amazing, it's unique (and NOT just the old Irish stuff. The original work tends to be my favorite).

Summertime gardening ... lots of fun, sort of, I guess. I mean, we don't have a garden. We tried last year but we BOMBED.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I've been bombing in the garden for years. Up at 6 to water this morning tho!

Pretty darn strange. Excuse me while I go move the sprinkler.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Nathilie! It all comes back to me now on the Bee Sealing Wax! Coolest thing ever!

I was so glad it was there, and it made my three Gothy Girls so happy, to have Bee CD's. May take it to Ireland...

    ReplyDelete
  18. G'morning Q! I hope your plants appreciate your sacrifice of sleep on their behalf.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well, I admit to being up anyway. I have a lesson shortly, and must get to the barn.

Dim is going to LEARN something today.

    As am I, I suspect.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Lovely garden. I love foxgloves too- I discovered white ones the other day, I only thought they came in purple!

I have to say that all my trips to Ireland have been somewhat magical, I'm sure you're going to love it! That reminds me, I must sign up for Octocon :o)

I'm experiencing a bit of happy today listening to snippets of Thea Gilmore's new album, it's gorgeous :o)

    ReplyDelete
  21. It is, isn't it?
    A moment of pure happiness.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Good Morning Q, and evryone.

You're coming to Octocon, Hellie? Excellent! It'll be good to see you again. Nathalie, are you coming? I seem to remember you weren't sure if you'd be able to , last time it came up, and they don't have a membership list online one can check. I booked my flights last week (Avoiding RyanAir :-) which is good)

I'm making it a long weekend so I shall have a bit of time to explore Dublin, as well as going to the Con itself.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I have booked myself into the CON so I plan to go, but do not yet know for how long I should plan to be in Dublin... I'd better get on it and book a flight and hotel accordingly.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yes I've decided to definately come; been saving my pennies and we have lots of offers of furniture from family so this house business won't be quite so expensive as we first thought!

I'll be coming on the Saturday as the aforementioned Ms Gilmore is playing in Manchester on the Friday night! Haven't sorted my flights or accommodation yet though. How long will you be staying in Ireland?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Bon. Nothing like the present, so I am flying in on the 15th and back out on the 19th (this way I should have time to visit Dublin and see fiends).
    Wheeee!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hurrah!

I am flying on on the 14th, out on the 18th, in the afternoon, so I shall be able to be sociable on the Monday morning ;-)

I have a feeling i only booked the hotel from the 15th, though..

    ReplyDelete
  27. Love the copper caps!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Excellent, I'll have a look at flights when I get paid next week and get a return flight on the Monday or Tuesday too I expect.

I'm hoping they'll be some interesting live music at Whelans while we're there, it's such a cool little venue :o)

  29. Quick update on Riker the silver bengal that to be rushed to emergency care. He was there overnight and then moved to a regular Vet the next day and stayed over that night, was picked up last night. He had some kind of upper respiratory and decided to quit eating and drinking and was very dehydrated. He had i/v's in til last night, was neubulized, and on antibiotic and is doing good. He was the result of owner's bring him and brother to kill shelter because unable to care for them. Both boys were not neutered and very skinny. Riker picked up something in the shelter during the hold time and it was lucky it was caught in time. Julie W went to new foster's home to evaluate and called it right. Unfortunately emergency Vet is kind of like our emergency room, $459 for one night but only $95 for the next day/night. But Riker should be fine, he is recouperating with Julie. Sorry, was to be short, whoops.

  30. I am such a bad gardener. My mom has ten green fingers and everything she touches becomes gorgeous gardens...not me. Your looks delightful, but even more beautiful it seems was the experience of creating it. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks for the update on the poor kitty. Narrow escape twice over!

    Hi Lorraine,

I just have to comment. I read your blog quite a bit and enjoy the friendship exhibited here. (Hello Fiends!) I wanted to congratulate you on the Magic purrs and let you know that gardening (forgive the pun) will grow on you! Plants will make you happy...and they like to be talked to when you water them. Also, someone mentioned lilacs and you may want to consider them...they are pretty low maintenance and quite a joy once they bloom in the spring...and they're purple!
    Ames

    ReplyDelete
  33. Jess- Lilacs to the left @ top of driveway, to right of driveway in bed by Magic's Screamed Porch and in back yard.

...unless they got moved since last summer.

    ReplyDelete
  34. For some reason I always think Bee Ceiling Wax and imagine all these buzzing bee painter & decorators in white overalls with pails and rollers....

I can't wait for October. FIENDS IN DUBLIN!!!!!! I will do my best to ignore that it's the busiest month in the shop and make myself available as tour guide, interpreter, ninja bodyguard, whatever is needed. Wish I could promise to be around before then for planning etc but I'm having to keep my head down at the moment - not complaining or looking for sympathy but the gods have been having fun with my life ever since February, throwing in all sorts of random crap. It's stabilized to the point that I'm running (rather than racing) to stand still but no me-time for comments and such - it's not 'cause I don't love you any more, honest! It's a strong and necessary brightness to grab a glance at The Grand Adventures of Quiche whenever I can, hope all the rest of you lovely Fiends are also literally & metaphorically blossoming.

    ReplyDelete
  35. If I could get to Dublin, Fienddudes, I TOTALLY would!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Love that, Louisa...a strong and necessary brightness, indeed!

    antic

    ReplyDelete
  37. Me, too! But I will have to settle for HOTR. Lucky me. really.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Beez, you answered the lilac question better than I could. Scary.

Dublin is going to be great fun!

    So is HOTR.

I am not sure why I didn't realize how many FIends would be in Dublin. This is so cool. I was kind of nervous, but not if you are there.

I knew lots of you were coming to HOTR, which is also going to be WAY fun.

(unless you can't come to either, then , don't worry, both of them will be BORING DULL AND NOT WORTH IT)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I can't come to either so :-P~~~~~

I'm watching it rain (hooray!) and working on a presentation I'm giving in a couple weeks. By which I mean I'm trolling the web for cool pictures, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Settling for HOTR, too. Wish I could do both.

Looks stormy outside but I think I'm going to have to water to bring on the rain. Everything is wilted...

    ReplyDelete
  41. I wish I could be at both, but Dan STILL hasn't built that personal transporter for us. What has the man been doing???

I'm sure you would have mentioned it - but is anyone coming to Aussiecon in Melbourne this September? I've actually splashed out on a membership, and it would be awesome if some Fiends - or even some lurkers - were there to play with.
Lorraine, I have sprinkler envy. I don't think we'll ever be allowed to use sprinklers again in Melbourne because of water shortage worries. I miss them, and their cooling effect.

    ReplyDelete
  42. You know, coming home from a long day at work, after a long early morning ride, and GARDENING is not a relaxing way to spend ones evening.

    Hmph.

I put my broken angel fountain in the back garden tho. If it cannot be functional, let it be ornamental:

    http://tweetphoto.com/31739788

    ReplyDelete
  43. Some people do think gardening on Friday evening is relaxing.

Even I do, as long as it's me puttering because I want to, not OMF the grass is going to swallow the dog! level of required maintenance.

The one downside of this rain is that the lawn is going to start growing again...

    ReplyDelete
  44. FYI, kids. If you're watering smaller areas like a garden or a flower/plant bed, it's better to use soaker hoses. Soaker hoses give a slow, deep watering which makes for stronger plants. With a sprinkler [which is a better choice for watering lawns], a lot of the water evaporates in the air and never makes it to the plants.

[I'm not a gardener, but I play one on the Internets. *wink*]

Loving the copper post tops! I wonder if they'll take on a neat patina as they weather.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I HOSED the new plants tonight. If I sprinkle, I have to close the windows.

That sounded all just plain WRONG.

My builder is here putting in a door with a cat door between the Dinning room, and the butler pantry and kitchen.

This is so if I have dogs over, the bengals can either attack or Escape. They will have the porches, magics room kitchen and basement dog free. Dogs get the sun room dinning room and romance room (Wasted on them, I say)

I do this because I feel like my life was getting kind of dull.

    ReplyDelete
  46. That reminds me of our old neighbor who had 5 kids: a 9yr old, 7yr old an 5yr old TRIPLETS. They had 5 cats but that wasn't enough so they got 4 dogs (2 voluntarily, 2 they found).

    And a trampoline.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I bet that trampoline was well used!

Spooky house is becoming a house of doors Lorraine. Mysteries everywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  48. And I will paint it GOLDEN. Metallic golden.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Robyn, a friend of mine just had twins. For the second time. They now have five children under five.

    ReplyDelete
  50. If I could have friends who come over to weed and garden I'd..have friends. Ahem.

And I hate everyone who is going to HOTR. No not really. OK, maybe a little bit. *looks sad and put out*

Aren't Bengals meant to be a breed that adores dogs? I'm sure I read that somewhere..

    ReplyDelete
  51. Q, you are amazingly kind with this sentence..."(unless you can't come to either, then , don't worry, both of them will be BORING DULL AND NOT WORTH IT)"
...You are full of lies, but sweet none the less. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Dull boring and not worth it? Oh goody, I feel better.

(Not really- too many friends and Fiends WILL be at HOTR and I can't go).

....apparently my house has been designated for an after-party though, since so many are flying in and out of Mpl/St.Paul.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ohhh -could we have live video of the after party Beez??? Pwetty pwease.

    ReplyDelete
  54. House of Fiends afterparty sounds fun. And with Fiends in both places all those not attending will surely get to hear about it all & see pictures.
No Aussie Con for me, either - is it your first con, Sally? Who are the guests?

    ReplyDelete
  55. It will be my second! Supernova, where I met James Marsters was the first. Lets see, the list so far

    ReplyDelete
  56. Ooh, fun!

My friend, and room-mate from EasterCon, and temporary house-mate, Cheryl Morgan, will be there.
I see you get Charlie Stross, China Mieville and Paul Cornell as guests-having sen them all on panels etc I can heartily recommned you do the same.

And John Scalzi! Do you read his blog?

It looks as though it'll be awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Cheryl will be here? Well she's an honorary Fiend isn't she?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Absolutely! I will tell her to look out for you!

    ReplyDelete
  59. You will have fun Sally, Paul and John are great, only know the others slightly, but I am sure they will be great too.

Wish I was coming to Oz! I so want to.

Lots of riding today, I am hoping for both Dim and Chanel, if it doesn't get too hot.

Lots of shopping this morning tho, first. Farmers Market first, with Lola I think. Just to keep things interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Looks like I am the only one up here. WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!

Lazy Fiends. You'd think you worked all week and were sleeping late for a change. Or out doing fun things.

Nice day. As opposed to tomorrow when we get storms. For my BBQ.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I thought you were busy..doing stuff?

I'm reading Terry Pratchett's Soul Music.

It's hot here too. Neighbour's child is squeeling. I'm drinking coffee.

    Who's coming to BBQ tomorrow?

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm up, I'm up. And showered, you'll be happy to hear. And clad in a Billy Bones shirt (and shorts, of course).

I was up from 3-4:30, then went back to sleep until 8.

Now I would like breakfast, but there's no food in the house (completely untrue - what I really mean is there's nothing I want to eat). Why is there no coffeeshop in my neighborhood? If I could walk a few blocks and get coffee and a muffin I'd be thrilled.

Might actually get in the car and go out. Solo, since Nick isn't up yet.

BBQ? Sounds lovely. Wish I could come!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Well, I am doing stuff, but it's still pretty early. I can't get used to being UP so early and having all this time.

I start rushing around and realize , hello, it is not even 7 yet, what are you rushing TO....

It's a bunch of people I don't exactly know coming, it's more work than my BBQ really.

(meaning I should not have mentioned it. My bad.)

I have no food either. But I really want Pho, is that what it's called, the soup with noodles? Which they have at the farmers market.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Since you are up so early you have time to go to the Farmer's Market and eat pho, right?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Ah yes, I get that about getting up early. I like the 6am start but by 9 I'm all kinds of exhausted and need a nap.

Farmers Market sounds like fun. Sp with Lola in tow. pics maybe?

Hope you get some good riddin' done this morning. & Dim stops living up to his name ;)

Maybe you can get some extra Bengal wrangling with all that extra time? Or are they sleeping? My cats are all asleep as soon as the day breaks.

How can you want soup first thing in the morning though? Tho Pho sounds lovely (but not in this heat)

I just had some sweated up greens, cabbage & red onions topped up with two poached eggs. It was the kind of yummy you congratulate yourself on after you'd eaten it.

Going to see Eclipse later on. Some say it's rubbish, some say it was better than the previous two films.
So far, the trailers have unimpressed me.

Hey Phiala, good luck with the muffin hunt!

Oh my, I feel so sleepy..

    ReplyDelete
  66. Ticky box.

    Love you all.

May be dropping off the grid for a week in a few minutes....

I'm in North Carolina which welcomed me last night with the most incredible storm I've ever seen.,Yay!!

Wish me luck in the heat and humidity.

I guess this was more than ticky box. :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Welcome to NC. It is at least a little cooler today. 88F only. Sorry no fireflies yet.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Hey Emily, you should see this YA fiction article.

    ReplyDelete
  69. IT'S RAINING!!! Hooray! First in abuot three weeks.

Pho sounds lovely, but none at my farmer's market. Fresh mushrooms, though...and really yummy peaches. they've moved under the bridge that was recently rebuilt, so it's lagrely shaded and out of the weather. Pretty nice!
Except I keep expecting there's a goblin market there. somewhere. Haven't seen it, and really don't want to.

Family off to start work on making a folk festival happen. I'm home, deciding where to go first for provisions. I'm with Phiala on "there;s nothing to eat in this house."

    ReplyDelete
  70. I have stalked the feral coffee to its lair, where I found it guarded by a sausage sandwich. I have vanquished them both, and am no longer hungry.

I'm working on a big weaving research project (at the last minute) and finding all kinds of cool things. Which is good and bad (because of the last minuteness).

I desperately want about 6 weeks away from home where I can concentrate on weaving and thinking about weaving. If only... I need a patron!

    ReplyDelete
  71. You have Pho AT your farmer's market?! *envy* I have had Pho once, and unfortunately had a bad reaction, as I am allergic to MSG, and as I am very lucky, I got the once that month that the owner prepared the meat and it had MSG in it. I am told most Pho does not use MSG and am eagerly waiting for the opportunity to try it again.

I am going to a BBQ tomorrow, which is obviously the one you are talking about, not some other one that of course doesn't exist.

    ReplyDelete
  72. oh cecily, pho is pretty awesome. almost dying, not so much.

i think i might bbq on my foreman (supress laughter, i live in a small apartment building) i am so late to the foreman circus. it's not too bad actually. boy is on a big marinade kick and wants to marinade and foreman everything. it's kind of hilarious. i've only been able to use it once, because he wants to cook. had i know a kitchen toy would inspire him to cook, i would have bought one sooner!

    ReplyDelete
  73. I have been doing housework, and filling in forms beause I just relaised my passport has expired, and then I went out & had my hair cut (Pics for those not on twitter). I went to get new passport photos done on my way home, so with any luck I shall look kempt (and thus probably unrecognisable) when I travel.

    ReplyDelete
  74. oooh i like the hair!

i need to get my unruly mane tamed.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Was out boating. We have 36C (96.8F)and tomorrow is supposed to be hotter still.

    ReplyDelete
  76. yes, sleeping! you caught me. first morning in ... eons? where there was no immediate need to get up for any of us. although we're sorta squatting, as we're at Grandma's house but she had to move back to the hospital a couple days ago. but she's doing better, and it will be easier for my guy to move on tomorrow (several family members live here, to help her move home again when she can). so tomorrow we rise early and head west.

no cons for me for a while - no time, less money. :(

happy weekending! wishing cool breezes for those in hot places, and warm breezes for those in cool places.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Lorraine, I saw this recipe and thought of you and your farmers market. They might have the ingredient. It sounds so refreshing (and healthy too).

    ReplyDelete
  78. That looks delicious; just what I could do with, its so hot and sticky here. We do have sorbet though. Yum.

Got hit with the worst moon time in ages today and have spent most of it lying down. It was a good excuse to race through the rest of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, I'm not usually a big fan of thrillers but this one really hooked me! Also did a lot of knitting, and lovely b/f averted a wool emergency by driving me to the shop just before it closed :o)

    ReplyDelete
  79. A wool emergency sadly I know just what you mean :-)

I read the first 2 of The Girl Who...books, page turners indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  80. We do have Pho, an an entire Asian cooking place there, they make everything with no MSG.

It was great. I am really glad I ran into friends tho, as shopping with Lola proved a bit more difficult than I had imagined. They wrnagled her and I shopped.

Love the look of that drink, Nathilie, and we have LOTS of cucs in the garden and I did buy mint.

Shopping is all done. Just making dog food and waiting for it to get cool enough to ride horses.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Make sure to plant the mint in it's own contained space! It will take over where ever you put it. I am not exaggerating.

    ReplyDelete
  82. No place on the Strip with kaffir lime leaves? I'm surprised! I'll ask my sister-in-law when I see here later today if she knows a source.

In other news, I'm bored. really bored, and I know it's all my fault. I have lots of things to do...mostly cleaning and clearing. Don't want to. have a party to go to, as well...don't want to. Bah. But at least Jess has given me something to talk about. (Sources for leaves in Pittsburgh, not hair.)

I'll be enlivened again soon....I hope.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Well, the mint is not the growing kind, no roots, just leaves, so I don't think it will take over. I know how mint DOES that...

Lola ate a Carerra reps sunglasses demo case the other day, and she called , I thought to talk damages, but no...

She wants a Bengal, and heard I was the one to go to! She had one who died a year ago, and she loves them like I do.

    I think I can help.

    ReplyDelete
  84. heh, it took me couple of reads to realise it wasn't Lola who called about Bengals..

    ReplyDelete
  85. Books to read, beads to bead. WHOOT! AND. AND. A leetle old doll to add to my creepy old doll collection, except this particular doll (named Patti, by me, after my childhood imaginary friend) is creepy eye-less. @_@ But she'll fit in somehow. The others stare at me while I sleep. I love this. This is why I have a creepy old doll collection.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Please keep telling me how hot you all are...it makes my winter more bearable.
Marjorie - your hair looks amazing. Farmers Market - thank you for reminding me there is one on in the next suburb today and I might just get dressed and go to it!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Hi, Sally. I'm dripping, pouring, steaming.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yup, that makes me feel warmer. Thanks Emily.

    ReplyDelete
  89. It was actually a bit cooler here today, only up to about 88F. Sally, does that help? I've love a little cool right now.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Would some strong cold winds help? You can have them all.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Been sitting in my hot tub watching the bats fly around. Back in the AC now. Pretty darn decadent Sat night if you ask me.

Does anyone know why Siri doesn't post anymore? I miss her. She made me laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  92. It HAS been hard to find Siri, but she left a comment on my blog the other day.

Lorraine, oh my Fods, you can seriously sit in a hot tub right now?

  93. Jess, sis-in-law says either Lotus (which you already said fails), or maybe the Indian grocery on Atwood St in Oakland...

Party was not entirely boring, but most of the fun was the increasingly self-absorbed mo-in-law, and her also deaf husband. So now I feel mean-spirited as well as bored. Obviously time for bed and a better attitude tomorrow.

    And I miss Siri, too.

I'm now...i know it's late for you! I have to take ben to a bday party, then swim class, then i have a wedding to do. The birhtday girl is not asking for presents but donations for the kitties at the local shelter...she's 5.

  103. I am glad that my teleconference call is now finished: the call quality was awful and trying to hold a negotiation in such conditions is really painful.
    I need tea.
