Some my by Tom Klubens....

First up today, all of these photos are by my friend Tom Klubens. (I know we are Friends because Facebook told us so today) He's like Kyle Cassidy, or Kitty, part of a very small group of people who can actually take good pictures of me, so here you go.

We'll get to his REAL photos tomorrow, the ones of the skaters from the Bout last night, but I am working on my little windows laptop and getting THESE four downloaded and trying to blog, has been quite enough for one morning.

WHAT are we looking at here exactly? Well, the new Naptown Roller Girls Calender is out and Tom has photos in it. Part of the deal was I didn't get to see them until he was there to both see and shoot. I was for this, and so here we have them!

I think they thought there might be one month I was going to particularly enjoy.

They were right.

Actually there are quite a lot of months I love, all of them really. It's going to be a great year in my office. Some months may last more than 30 or so days.

Nope. Get your own, the link is back a few pictures. YOUR year could rock as well. Trust me, I've been thru it.

Up Tomorrow: More Derby! Pictures of real, proper, actual skaters. I want to tell you everything I learned, how exciting it was, and show you just exactly how cool this sport can be..

But that's tomorrow. For today:

Just me!

Love and Surprises,
Lorraine

You make everything sound like so much fun - hanging with you must be a blast!

I'm ok with a just-you post! Glad to see you've recovered from the plague (and the calendar) ;-)

Ben's teacher isn't going to try out for derby this season. After she hurt her knee she recovered, trained and was days from try-out and got an elbow in the rib. Still hurts. She's realizing it's just not worth it, she's not 18 anymore! Oh well, maybe we can just go to bouts together even though she won't be skating.

We head to SFO to pick up hubby from Australia today. He stayed an extra week for work. The single mom thing isn't nearly as exhausting now that ben is 6 and in school and not 2 and...well...2!

Hope everyone is well!!!

They're all naked! Aren't they.

Well you look to be feeling much better, and having a fine time. Yay that. :)

Good heavens, this cranberry juice is tart.

Well it is.

It looks, and sounds, as though you are having a fantastic time!

I have spent the weekend seeing family, and meeting my newest cousin (3 months old) so I've had a truly Fabulous weekend, too!

You look ecstatic!

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to tomorrow's update. Especially pictures of the cool looking zip up jackets with skulls on the sleeves.

Such fun. Apparently. :)

I am feeling rather incompetent and unproductive today, but I imagine it will pass.

We are going to have blueberry pancakes for a late lunch, since I spent quite a bit of time excavating the kitchen this morning. (I am theoretically not responsible for kitchen duties, but the assignee sucks at it.)

At 13:57 Blogger Beez said...

They're either nekkid or have strategically placed pads/hands/hair/hats etc.

You wear the bug-eyed look well M'Deadly.

Late-but-serious job (((vibes))) for Aleta!

It is definitely going to be a great year for you, and for me, and, I hope, for every Fiend. Very much looking forward to more pictures (these are awesome shots, for sure).

Sweetheart (I hope you don't mind my being a bit personal here, you come across like such a fantastic person in your blog that I think of you as sweetheart) I am so happy you made this all about you, and I think many of us readers are.

At 15:32 Blogger DataGoddess said...

I can just imagine the state of undress and poses you're looking at there, Ms. MeDeadly! I think Dan and I will be coming down to Indy for the next bout, if we do we'll look for you (as I tweeted from my public twitter account earlier, so you would see it ;-)

Right now I'm going to crawl back under my icepack - I seem to have developed a menstrual migraine, which made me cancel a date with my sweetie. I'm not happy about that. At least I got to spend a good day with Dan running errands yesterday, and we had a movie date Friday night. Hopefully we're going to have another one tomorrow, since we're both off!

Hello? Get your minds out of the gutter! Naptown has some class. No one is nekkid! Even remotely.

On the calender.

IT is suitable for all ages.

(Ok, poting on the right blog. And thank you for all the nice comments on the ME pics! I do love them!)

At 15:53 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Ohhhh, Lorraine with a very devilish glint in the eyes there...I'm going with a "They're all nekkid" line here too.

Yah for getting out and about and having a blast.

At 16:12 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

It didn't have to do with me OR Nekkid. It was a cool set actually a tip of the hat...That's all you're getting.

At 16:41 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

I'm sure none of us fiends would ever want to see Q's fine ass, or the Naptown Roller Girls nekkid. Never. I would never even SUGGEST it.

Nope.

Never.

At 16:42 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Wendy, you are *so* right - the idea of a nekked woman just leaves me gasping!!

Oh, wait, I mean breathing heavy... ;-)

At 17:08 Blogger Dragonsally said...

I think she is just teasing us...

At 18:34 Anonymous Tom Klubens said...

Thank you, Lorraine!

I can assure everyone there is no nekkidness in the calendar

At 18:49 Blogger Cecily said...

There really should be a nekkid roller derby calendar...like the one the women did in Calendar Girls. You don't actually see nudity but it's there.

Of course I am sick again. Amd starting to be convinced that Lorraine is sending me her germs, as we seem to be taking turns. *looks at her suspiciously*

Also, can't find the calender on the site...it's probably staring me in the face but my sick is keeping it from me.

At 19:04 Blogger LihuaEmily said...

You do realize I'm officially old enough to see some nekkid.

At 19:06 Blogger AletaMay said...

lovely photos!

:tick and run:

At 19:11 Blogger Phiala said...

LiEm, I suspect you'd get a better grade of nekkid from people here than the general run (which is quite awful, mostly).

At 19:15 Blogger LihuaEmily said...

I figure!

At 19:33 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Yes, we WOULD all look lovely nekkid but there is no nekkid and no one is getting any nekkid!!!!

Hmmm. This sounds very un-fun.

It is meant to be up on the site, the calender, and will be shortly if it;s not, and it IS a very cool calender.

At 19:34 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

The Naptown site. Not MY site.

At 19:44 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

If Q declares it, then it must be so...

-wanders off to put on pants-

Oh, tomorrow is my final pre-professor day!

At 19:45 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Wait, we're supposed to be wearing pants?! Dang it!!

*wanders off grumbling*

At 20:13 Blogger ariandalen said...

Ms. Fabulous didn't say anything about wearing pants. She just said, "No nekkid." She also said, "Hmm...sound un-fun."

Personally, I find strategically clothed to be much more interesting. ;)

At 20:39 Blogger Jess said...

Personally, I'm wearing a couple of pairs of trousers over my pants. It's bloody freezing.

At 20:42 Blogger Phiala said...

I'm wearing a puppy.

And a blanket.

And sweats.

What Jess said: it's cold.

At 23:01 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

It's 54 degrees tonight, and my window's open. Plus, I think there's some sort of law not requiring pants in New Orleans. Or, I might have just made that up.

I would be wearing cats, but they have abandoned me. Serious is busy sniffing the television.

At 00:37 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

I emailed my syllabus off to the campus print shop. Now, I'm stuck with the fact that I drank COFFFEEEE tonight for the first time in a week, after cutting all sugary and caffeiney drinks (except for a couple of cups of tea) OUT. Now, what do I do? Glad I'm not teaching tomorrow. I think I'm going to lay in the dark and day (night?) dream. I would read, but I think at this moment that that would involve obsessively reading until 5 a.m.

At 08:19 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

GOOD MORNING!!!!

I hope you all have pants on, more or less. I do, and in fact have been up for hours, sitting in the Strange Brew Coffee House here in Indy.

Going to the airport soon which is good because 4:30 was EARLY and I am ready to fall asleep, take about 5 seconds on the plane.

Not mind you, that I want to leave here, all very sad it is.

At 08:39 Blogger spacedlaw said...

I have a skirt but my ass is very well covered.
Good morning.

At 10:09 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

I am ALMOST wearing pants. Although, in about an hour I will be wearing pants. I will be working at the charity, and, even though the majority of the people I work with are pinko liberals, they're not THAT liberal.

At 10:39 Blogger Jess said...

I got pants and then yoga pants and then jeans. I am Well Toasty.

Safe flight, Q!

At 12:44 Blogger vampi said...

At 14:12 Blogger Jess said...

Something you'd like to confess, Vampi? Bit chilly, are we? ;)

At 14:16 Blogger vampi said...

internet time is clothing optional time.

and it is quite toasty here, 80 degrees. i think i will go frolic in the sunshine, with clothes of course.

At 14:21 Blogger Jess said...

Bet you won't go clothed really. You Californians are all the same. It's just like Rio out there. FACT.

At 14:29 Blogger vampi said...

oh, we wear clothes, just not as may as you

At 15:18 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

In Louisiana, we don't wear shoes. Or at least, I'm not wearing shoes right now. And, there may or may not be chocolate involved...

At 15:23 Blogger Precision Grace said...

Maybe we should do a nekkid Fiends calendar for bengal charity or something? It seems a shame not to have any nekkid after all this nekkid talk.

At 15:45 Blogger Dragonsally said...

*contemplates being nekkid in a public picture*

now that would be challenging.

At 15:55 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

All ones needs to do is MENTION nekkid and just look at these fiends!!!

Naughty, the lot of you.

I'm all home again, missing Indy and wonderfully glad to be back with Dogs and bengals.

I think the new post with all the skating pics may have to wait till tomorrow, unless I come home from the gym seriously wild.

Or maybe not, Feeling kind of wild just now, tho not at all nekkid here.

At 16:13 Blogger Jess said...

Glad you got back! No Wit or Wild here. Just waiting to go to Teh Yoga. Liking it. So, erm, yeah.

How was first class? Did you get the good peanuts?

At 16:20 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

No wit or wild. Or shoes. Preparing to be super serious for my writing group tonight.

Also, we are fiends. We are acting fiendishly.

At 16:39 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Ok, Nekkid Fiends, new post is UP!
