Might Live....
Thought I might just come and do a post that wasn't talking about being ill for a change, as I am feeling better, just tired at this point. Like all my energy is gone.
Here is Cabal and his girlfriend Kota off in the woods. I love the way they kind of glow, like fey creatures, which, perhaps they are, in the woods.
Got a lot done catching up today, made it thru most of the e-mail, and table mail, and helped make some mighty fine soup. And got home AND did the litter boxes and dishes, so I don't feel like I am living in a garbage house.
Not bad for a half dead girl.
Now I am lying on my Floor playing Fetch the Mousie with Venus. About my speed for tonight. Tea and sleep.
Love and getting better,
Lorraine

amazing pic:)
glad you are returning to the land of the living
Cool glowing dogs! They look like they'd be great night lights.
Have fun with the kitties!
great picture! glad you're feeling better. love to the kitties

Love the glowing and love that you are feeling better! Wee.
Pretty Pooches Rock.
Lorraine Feeling Better Rules.
Ticky Box Haiku.
Hurrays! for feeling better. (Yay! for having your home cleaned before falling ill.)
I am about to attempt to make pancakes from scratch. Haven't tried it lo these many months.
The monsters found a movie on tv, in which cats attempt to rule the world by making all humans allergic to dogs. Silly Saturday.
I think the dogs' true natures are only visible on film - it catches the glow.
Glad you're feeling better and are more up and about. Take it easy, though, as much as you can. Be bengal furniture ;-)
That was Kota's friend who takes them for walks who took the picture.
I might have overdone it a bit today, I am so tired...But glad to be feeling better
Fluffy stole my line;)
I'm really happy that you're well enough to do a little post.
Pancakes would be fun, I missed them at our house this morning, post sleepover.
The house was clean which was nice, it's always better clean.
Luminous Furballs! oooooooh.....
Terribly glad to see you up, about, and posting. Now stay that way!:)
Oh, Lorraine ... (hugs) SO glad to know you are getting better.
antidisesta-

makes for bad haiku.
Glad you're feeling better!
(I'm home for a few weeks at the least)
I mentioned moving plans in twitter, and a couple of Fiends asked about them; my partner's still not told all of his family yet, so I'm keeping it a little quiet, but we're moving to Oakland mid-May. It's a good move, though it will be stressful to get there. :)
Danguy, you make me laugh and I have NO idea what you are saying...
Adri, that's great. Hard to move tho, lots of work.
Just read the weather sigh, SNOW and lots of it coming on Monday thru Tuesday. Not fair, she cries....
Oh, I forgot to mention.
It snowed here yesterday. Really! Little teeny tiny snowballs. They melted when they hit a)me b) the cat, unless they caught in the fur c) the warmer concrete, gravel, et cetera which covers most of this neighborhood. An it was, like, 29 DEGREES!! for about two hours.
Hey, it's WEATHER innit?
Okay, now the people who actually live where it snows properly (and rivers require sandbags) can throw things at me.
Just don't hit the cat. He kept staring at the snowballs (crosseyed when it landed on his nose) with an expression of "huh. I've seen this somewhere before......"
Say, Minneapolis Airport Using Fiends, what is a motel close to said airport. I need to book a room, but feel lazy and don't wanna do that much work.
Like, one across the street, or sommat.
Please?
you are, like me, the LIVING DEAD GIRL.
was that a cell phone photo? good one!
sending you some photos of Kylie & Batman saying get better completely.
ps i am making you help me judge 100K #.
Kitty! Wish you were here, it's an SUV marathon! Fine, I will help you with this, there are a lot of them, but you have to make the final choice, ok?
Siri, the Hilton Airport is the nicest and very close, they have shuttle too.
Lys, I wonder if he remembers snow? Living it easy in the warm so many years..
Lorraine--Let's just say I don't think he's been missing it all these years! It was quite disgruntling; he generally has to be coaxed back inside and yesterday he was at the back door yelling at me to hurry up. :)
I bet he doesn't. Venus and Mim are not happy about no walkies either. Coconut has gone out, but not all winter.
I just can't believe it tho, MORE snow??????????Enough already, I say.
Might be time for a weekend in La, she thinks...
Some Christmas-time when you are freezing, you shall come and visit me for warmth and Luminaria. It will be good. :)
I'd like that Lys!
Taking a break from SUV and depressing myself with the Weather Channel...Snow. Rain and snow. Snow likely. Few snows.
Glad you're feeling better. And I think the world forgives you for watching SVU instead of turning off the lights. You never know when you might need to know if the corpse you stumbled upon has gone through rigor mortise once or twice!
That's a wonderful picture of the dogs too. I'm jealous. Our puppy just wants to lick the camera so all I can get is her nose or tongue. :P
Glad you're well enough to post. Sorry you still have no energy. Seems to be par for the lurgy course.
Ran tons of errands today and I'm happy to report that my energy level seems to be normal.
I'm going to tackle the June airplane tickets tomorrow... wish me luck. I'm so excited about meting everyone in person.
Which reminds me, Adri! You're moving to the town next to me! YAY!Welcome to the Bay Area. :-D
Okay, back to my to-do list.
Which also reminds me:
POPPETS are on sale! Check out the Poppets ebay store for great deals on poppets and Lisa Snellings fabulous art.
Siri- Q read my mind. The Hilton is directly across the street from the airport, almost, but there are eleventy jillion other hotels within five minutes.
I'm super close to the airport. Let me know if you need a shuttle that's not a hotel van. :)
Also, typing with a wrist brace is difficult. But it makes my wrist hurt far less, so yay!
Glad you're feeling better, Ms. Fabulous. Like I said before, rest is what you need, not just sleep. :)
Weekend in LA, you say?
any time you want, missy.
and Drew is about to ship out for tour, so all the better with NO boys.
xox plus Boss did say yesterday he thinks it is time I came out, although i think he said that cause YOU weren't there to make dinner?
Hey Fiends
just returned from my BFF's, where I was showing her and her son how to get music on to his MP3 player. Discovered that she had 45 windows updates waiting to be downloaded. yetch. Turned into more than an MP3 lesson!
Bummer missing out on pancakes for breakfast Quiche...
glowdogs! pretty!
entertaining out-of-town guests and now exhausted.
glad you're feeling better and might live. we count on this.
A vitamin cure for a few weeks might be just the thing to pick you up now.
And rest.
HUGS.
lorraine, leave winter redux behind and get out to the warmth-i'd follow you if i could, but alas have no cold or flu to provide the excuse - just a general disgust at the winter wonderland outside the window. hope you continue to feel better. finally caught up on my sleep and now to tackle the bill mountain that is the company business. have a good and restful sunday everyone!
Oh what a glorious morning! Good morning fiends.
I am happy to announce that I feel like my life is starting to rebalance. It's amazing how good a few nights of restful sleep can make you feel.
My love and thoughts are going out to all fiends buried in snow, fighting mother nature, moving, paying bills, sickly, jobless, hurting, absent, happy, healthy, creative, awake, asleep, and reading. Have a marvelous Sunday.
Ticia, what lovely thought to wake to! Drinking my tea and doing morning chores, coughing only a little, feels really good! It's sunny today and I am not going to worry about the snow coming.
Doglover, welcome and thanks for the tip, I never mind links to things we are al linterested in...
I have found tho, the best little box is a HUGE plastic tub, like a Sterlight or rubbermaid with high sides. Cats like open, not closed, and they like big, most littler boxes are too small, but again, all cats are different.
Venus and Mi had 2 covered ones in different places, but pooped on the floor in the basement, then I got the tubs, one for each, problem gone.
Right, more comment reading, more tea.
Airline tickets have really dropped, go searching people, it a who can go the lowest fare time...
Kitty, sigh me up, sounds perfect, you , treehouse, Kylie and Batman! But you should come here too!
Hmm..No one around, and here's me with half hour, chores done, and chat ready.....Did I lose my fiends?????
(waves)
Just replied to your e-mail, Lorraine. Thank you for getting in touch!
Hallo there, half-hour-Quiche. Noooo, I don't want to know how much cheaper my tickets could have been. Aaagh. (Actually we managed to snag $143 per person. Pretty good!)
I got a big fat wad of nothing. We took the car for its first oil change this morning. We've popped its Jiffy Lube cherry.
Glowdogs!
Kota and Cabal
sitting in a tree
K-I-S-S-I-N-G etc.
I'm here! Busy day full of laundry and lease-breaking today.
Also trying to explain the difference in Marvel & DC superheroes to my partner. Through the power of similarities? Something. Either way, yay bright colored crime fighters? (I've been reading a lot of Avengers lately)
I'm reading and doing housework... okay I'm just reading.
::quickly runs and throws a load of laundry in the machine to look productive::
Ticia, we're watching Eddie Izzard (Dress to Kill) while folding laundry-- but only while folding laundry-- as a motivator.
Thanks Emily, I got it, we will figure all this out for June, not to worry.
Kota and Cabal can't be in class together anymore, he is too in LOVE with her, and won't fixate on anything else, the big doofus.
I wanted to do laundry, but ran out of that desire, I mean, I am not out of clothes or anything...
I am going to plant little seeds in little pots today, for the garden in 6 weeks, ALL the veggies...I think I will take pics of every stage of this famous garden this year, from start to end, if I write wittily enough, it will not be boring, promise...
Q, it is impossible for you to be boring. About anything. Ever. (Glad you are feeling better!!)
Good to know I am not boring!
Right, off to work, lots to do...
I'd be into a gardening series! Yay veggies. I think I'm going to plant a tomato plant this year. Had one a couple of years ago, but we didn't get ripe tomatoes till September. Very weird.
Adri- ::snort:: I do that too. And Izzard is brilliant... I hate folding laundry SO much. If there's no motivation, I just won't do it.
Quiche- Good morning! I would love to watch your garden grow. I used to grow tons of veges., but when my daughter was 8, she started playing competitive soccer year-round. I guess the blessing of her sitting out this year is I will have more free time...
Well happy gardening, Q and fiends who garden.
I woke one morning last weekend from lengthy dreams of working my garden in Texas. *sniff*
And it is a lovely pic of the doggehs, all glowy like.
I love the idea of gardening, but I kill plants basically immediately. If it doesn't come scream at me for attention, I tend to forget about it.
Thus I know that an expensive and delicate hobby like reef-keeping is probably not for me, but... I REALLY want to set up a nano-reef with live rock once we move...
Doing chores, reading, drinking tea.
The computer had been stolen by Cesare who was showing his Mum all the silly videos about Berlusconi on YouTube (goodness know there is enough material, alas).
I'm really sorry about all the confusion, Lorraine.
Mom, Ben, Jack, William, Jack's best friend Michael, and I are off to see Mom's-Friend's-Daughter's-Son for his first birthday celebration! Whoo!
Morning all!
Gray and spring-like here. I'm having memories from 18 years ago, of a sunny day, that then turned to snow (!) and the birth of my DD who arrived, on HER timetable, 10 weeks early.
Tonight we celebrate with sushi, and gifts...mostly books, of course, in my house. Including Blueberry Girl, as good a poem at 18 as at birth!
And, Quiche, so glad you are better, and I'd love to have garden posts, perhaps it would keep me attentive to mine. i always start enthusiastically and then dwindle.
glad you've returned to the world!
finished the wedding, it was beautiful. now we're just watching tv until our dinner res.
well, i wrote that last night...didn't post i guess!
had a lovely dinner but it wasn't really worth the price/hype. appetizer courses were amazing, meat and fish courses were overcooked. sad.
now just nibbling on hotel brekky until we check out
Unless I'm horribly mistaken (and I haven't read comments yet...) what a beautiful Aussie Kota is! A blue merle? I have a black bi Aussie name of Maggie, myself. They're a great breed. :)
And, the first word I found in my last Boggle game was....Quiche!
AND of course, so nice to have you back in the land of the living, Quiche--hugs!
Thanks for the motel tips and transport offers, Fiends. I've got it all sorted, and don't need transport, because I'm driving up. I'm picking up someone else at the airport, which is why I wanted a place close - it's for 1 night, only, so I picked Motel 6. They say they will leave the light on for me. Only 1? Sheesh.
I am all booked for June now. Good Lord Willing and the Creek Don't Rise, we will have a whoop-dee-do time!
Aleta, I'll be in Minneapolis on Thursday, June 25, so can help you do whatever needs done....Giddy. Just Giddy!
"Kota and Cabal can't be in class together anymore, he is too in LOVE with her, and won't fixate on anything else, the big doofus."
That is the cutest mental image. Big puppy eyes following her every move...
Unless there's a stick. Teenagers!
"Stick! Stick!" Sorry - channeling Winnie-the-Pooh.
I just sent you n Boss a busload of #100k entries that i like---help!
Cool! am reding them, a couple made me snort...I saw more tho...
Must get seeds and some fish. The two projects are un-related.
Yes, Kota is an Ausssie, smartest dog going IMHO...
Aussies and Border Collies- so smart they'll have you doing tricks.
Hurrah for planting seeds- Spring has to show her face soon little wussie..
I have planted my garden boxes already as they are on the south wall of a brick building and are therefore a good 4-6 weeks ahead of anything in the ground but Oh!
I'm almost afraid to say it out loud...
I GOT A HOUSE!
The fella and I put a bid on a Fannie Mae foreclosed house in a really excellent neighborhood and they accepted!
Now we have to run our own inspector through, but unless there's something so dire as to be a deal-breaker we'll take ownership in a week or so.
Chantrelle, I think there are a great many instances when human beings start off enthusiastically and then dwindle (i.e., learning a foreign language, dieting - pretty much anything where the desired results are in the long run).
A house! How cool is that!? We will keep our moist and fluffy digits crossed for you.
A house! Congrats! In my experience it won't feel real until your first repair bill. :D
Beez, wow - ownership in a week. That's mind blowing, hope it all goes smoothly.
The situation in Fargo finally made it in to our papers today. Annie I hope you're high and dry.
Lorraine, it's lovely to see you're up and feeling mostly better.
Its a lovely sunny Monday here in Tomorrowland.
Beez, that's brilliant! Congrats and best wishes with the home ownership.
Beez-Yay!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed. :-D
Just got back from a glorious hike with Princess Dancing Paws and my 2 legged family. Great fun.
I've done laundry, dishes, and cleared out the deep freeze. I deserve a break... Reading? Why yes thank you, I think I will.
Beez,
Bravo house! Welcome to all the joys and frustrations, and down right comfort of it really being yours. And the bank's, but they don't make much noise.
Beez! Hurrah!
Here are some handy tips for house owning.
1. When you buy it make sure the kitchen is actually piped for having hot water.
There, that's my advice.
I am going to do a new post now, up soon-ish..
Sage advice, Q. Something tells me there's a story there. :D
Yay! Our Queen Empress has gotten some energy back! Still, take it as easy as possible. Okay?
Gardens are good. :) DH just tilled ours today. Now we just have to decide what we will put in it. Too late for some seeds as the temps are already pretty warm, last two days not withstanding. DH also said that the pomegranate bush and peach trees are blossoming. Now, if it won't freeze again...
Beez! That's great news! Here's to everything going smoothly! c\_/
Fluffy, will you be going to Scarborough Faire? ;)
I used to garden. Someday I hope to again. Not this year though. Spring is too full this year.
You seem much better today Q! Hurray!
Writing went well but sleeping not so much. Maybe it was that strange bed thing but I tossed and turned both nights. Early to bed for me tonight. Real Life starts again tomorrow. Damn.
Congratulations Beez! That is great!
Yes, that would be THE story. WHo has a house with no hot water piped to the kitchen? I mean none, and I guess the inspector kind of missed that. Who checks?
Sorry about the post. Helping Kitty with 1000's of Tweets, she is the judge, I'm just helping cull..
I'll get to the post...
I really don't envy you gals trying to pick a winner of the Twitter comp, there were so many entries, and some fantastic ones. I couldn't chose a winner.
Oh, I sure am not picking the winner, I'm just culling the several hundred best, as is she, then SHE is going thru them and deciding...
Right pics are downloaded and picked, now I shall write.
I feel the will to keep my eyes open waning.
This weekend of Spring has been overly draining.
I've had so much fun, I feel bad
for complaining.
But from further blog reading,
I am abstaining.
Nighty-night you wonderous fiends!!
New post is up, if you are....If not, here's something for your morning...
