Cabal the Frankendog comes home to a Flood....
Cabal is home from the Doggie Hospital. All seemed to go well, now he just needs to recover for 4-6 weeks and then should be good to GO! The one thing we've noticed since he got back this afternoon is that he is GRUMPY, which means Lola is being told in no uncertain terms her place in the pack. She gets it. Here's a picture taken by my Boss, as I have none.
Here's another Boss picture of me and Les Klinger, walking thru the flooded woods! This is the biggest flood we have seen in, well, ever. Both sides of the creek jumped their bed, and moved out into the forest. The Bees are sitting on what we call "Bee Island" more of a peninsula really, but "Bee Peninsula" doesn't have quite the same ring to it. Lola, Les and I are walking down what is actually a path, not a river. We had the Plan to go down all the way, and see our bridge that's underwater, but backed off from the idea. Rushing water, wet, airport run coming up, sanity, take your pick. When the water got to the tops of the boots, we were out of there.
I love this picture. It's one of the coolest pictures of me in years (Except for that one when I played with AFP, nothing will top that shot) , because when I looked at it, me and my BUTT, in stretch pants, my first thought was "Go girl, looking good!" and not "Oh Gods, that isn't ME"
Yeah, that IS me.
And I'm feeling pretty happy about that these days.
That BUTT is going to skate with Roller Girls, run in a 5K, show dressage, and wear some pretty amazing clothes that have been gathering dust in my closet where the skeletons used to live.
Watch me.
(I think I meant, grammatically, "watch IT" but "Watch my BUTT" seemed like a funny way to end a blog about Dogs and Flooding)
Love and Floods,
Lorraine

You go girl!
Keep stayin' proud :D
There could be some really awesome photo ops with the water that high!
Keep the FIT up! You do rock! \m/
You go girl is right!
Dunno. I LIKE watch my butt.
"Eat my dust, watch my a**"
You go!
Also, wise decision re: water to top of boots = OUTTA THERE. Some flood there, and Lola looks as happy as the proverbial pig in mud.
Glad Big Dog is home and recovering. Equally glad Lola is remembering her place in the pack when reminded. Cabal is owed some good Grumpy Days after everything he's gone through lately.
Oh I completely forgot by the time I got to commenting...YAY Cabal home even if he is grumpy. I have been grumpy too, so I can empathize. :-)
Yay for Cabal being home, sending him calm doggie vibes (and chill vibes for Lola).
Probably a good idea to not risk walking too far in the floodwaters. The rushing water can be dangerous. And did you get your basement dried out? What did you end up doing?
And *whispers* nice ass!!!
Lookin' good, Medeadly!
Poor grumpity Cabal. He's sick of the hospital. :( Gentle skritches to his lovely ears.
Backtracking to the other thread: I can vouch for the mouth-problem thing, though with my cat the problems seem to be genetically linked. Crunchy food's vital in her case, though, because toothbrushing is impossible. Even if she would put up with it, she's allergic to cat toothpaste.
Neither of my cats will touch wet food; we've tried. But neither have become diabetic either, luckily. We keep an eye on it.
Eat My Dust and Watch My ASS!!!!!!
My new mantra. Thanks Beez!
If you feel inclined, and wish to be supportive, you may say from me time to time, (in a whisper if you like) :
Nice Ass!!!!!!
THAT stopped the chatter....
***nice ass!***
We are too busy watching to type.
You look great! but the flood looks terrifying. We flood around here too when hurricanes hit but we are on HIGH ground. That looks like some pretty high water. How is the basement? So damn much happened to you today the basement doesn't even rate a comment.
OK now lets see if this post and makes sense? I do NOT know what happened to the last post? It was all scambled when I re-read it after it finally posted. I generally copy so I don't have to retype after I get errors. I think the copy went wonky LOL
fingers crossed
And, we want to know - did your basement get dry?
Dehumidifiers are a basement's best friend, except for the emptying there of.
psshtt. That's why Touch Typing was invented.
Nice ass!
Revelle likes the boots, too!
And what does it say about me that I reappear when we start admiring Q's A?
Night, Fiendom.
Siri's back !
Must be my ass.
Spooky Cleaning Teen came over today and dealt with the basement. I love that girl My house is clean too.
Vin, your comment looks good from here! Well done!
YAY it posted. I forgot. Are the horses OK?
Also, always good to clean yourself with a clorox solution after dealing with flood water. We do here but maybe that is because this area has so much farming and livestock? The flood water here is toxic.
I really want your cleaning girl!
Our horses are on high ground.
Some near my house were in a flooded pasture tho, didn't have time to stop, they didn't look in danger, but I wouldn't have left mine there.
I've heard that the skeletons liked the clothes while they were residing in the closet.
I only restrain myself to avoid making Mr. Jess jealous. Generally I only watch his ass. I enjoy doing that.
But: psst, nice ass.
They are nice clothes in that closet.
We won't tell Mr Jess. Tho I think it's ok tho. This is PURE ass watching.
One of my friends has a motto about ass watching among other visual stimuli when it comes to her husband.
"I don't care where he gets his appetite, as long as he eats at home."
Ass contemplation
as a noble endeavor
of enlightenment:
Consider each cheek in turn.
Clench mightily. Feel the burn.
*runs*
**nice ass**
indeed it is. I'm with Lola - I love playing in floodwater. I hope I NEVER grow up
Sorry Cabal is grumpy but glad he is healthy!
Lovely ass.
Scary floods.
Great boots!
Siri!!!!
Jess the poet laureate of the Fiendom.
Heat and humidity got to me today. Sigh.
I fear for literature if I can make poet laureate for Ass Tanka.
Ass Tanka!
Next up I guess.
Jess, I do love you so.
I don't think anyone here would complain about watching your butt.
I am too tired to really play catchup tonight. Last night I fell asleep while watching Where the Buffalo Roam. Tonight I have to smooth out some grad school problems. The director of my (hopefully) new program lost my admissions paperwork, so I have to email it over tonight. The graduate school itself found transfer paperwork they lost and said they would walk it over to the English department, so tomorrow I have to double check to make sure they did that. School starts in a week and a half, and I don't know if I'm in the department yet.
And, I'm sleepy.
*whistles*
nice ass!
poor grumpy dog :( hopefully time flies and healing is perfect
<3 for rory
Tick
Nice Ass
Tick
Well, good for Cabal, Lola needs firm handling.
Glad to hear the basement flood is dealt with - Yay & Go Spooky Teen.
..back to cats, the other day I was eating salad, and, you know how cats are, you have to give them everything you eat to sniff even if you Know they won't like it. *sigh* anyway, Louie was looking longingly at my salad so I just picked up a piece of olive oil drenched lettuce and stuck it under his nose. He ate 3 or 4 pieces!! (he's the one who ate a whole plate of olives)
All my three cats are free range and supplement their diet of rodent and bird catch with dry and wet food at home. And they all nibble on grass to aid digestion.
And some of them like cheese. (Mario used to adore wafer thin ham, but since he disappeared I never buy it)
Oh PS No more compliments for Q, what if compliments have the same effect on ass as they do on head?! ;)
Morning!
Jess is truly lethal as a poet! She will no doubt get famous for this ASS poetry.
Well, my Ass is going to a riding lesson soon. Not on Dim, on Romy, a lovely paint dressage mare. I need to work on MY riding, not trying to convince Dim to behave at a basic level.
Dim is actually for sale. He is not the horse for me, I'll do a post about it, but it's really the right thing to do for what I want.
Morning! Lovely Ass...and sorry to hear you and Dim didn't work out. but, you know, first loves often don't.
Too true, too true. I do love the guy, just don't like riding him.
That is WAY to weird a sentence for this early in the day.
Yes, you look awesome. You must feel amazing.
And that is a cool picture!
I think Dabbler is right, sometimes first loves teach us a lot. You and Dim fell for each other and he really needed someone at that point in his life which nudged you into the reality of owning a horse.
Hehehehe. Weird sentence for this late in the morning. ;) Sorry to hear it's not working out with him, though. I suppose it's not too practical to just brush him forever. Gotta be able to work with him.
Ass Tanka is the new free verse.
Morning.
I have nothing clever to say but wanted to send good vibes to Cabal. And the Ass of Fabulous.
Coffee.
Oh and, Siri!
Ass Tanka.
Interesting, no?
Siri!!!! *happy dance*
What's a paint dressage horse? I know about dressage, so I assume she's trained for that, but paint dressage? I'm picturing a huge canvass in the arena, coating the horses hooves with paint, then creating abstract art with the pattern of dressage moves. Results suitable for murals.
Woot! on seeing a picture of yourself that makes you happy with your progress, your future, and most of all yourself.
I knew a cat once who went crazy over leeks. I never gave her any, thinking they might be too much like onions to be safe. Phoebe yowls for bread. But, then again, so do I.
Back to work...
I'm suprised there's not already a page on the internet for it.
A "paint" is also known as a Pinto.
Oh yes, hi Siri, glad Quiche's ass brought you back ... (0.0) How afraid should I be at seventeen, of all youz Fiends? ...
Of course, needless to
I shall never grow tired of
any of you folks.
Hi Gayle. I really should have remembered that from my horse-crazy youth. But my theory kinda took over my brain. How was the museum trip?
As I derail from Q's fine ass...
I need advice, and I figured the fiends here were good place to ask for it. I have written a children's book Probably best for the under tens. I have looked at some different sites online and gotten not quit the answers I am looking for. Kyle did a great post with some answers about seeking out publishing, but his were more aimed for the non-children books.
So if there is anyone that could help me that would be great, if not, I will continue my search.
My main question is, should I have someone illustrate it before I send it to publishers?
My secondary question is, do you know where I should find such a person?
For those that are curious, I wrote a book based on the song Blake Says. The first time I read it aloud to the girls they didn't budge, and when I was done all three screamed in unison, "THAT WAS AWESOME!". I am very proud of this book and really want to try to get it in print.
Li Em: You won't know how afraid you should have been for at least ten years. Ask again then. :D
The Children's Museum was so fun. Thanks for asking. :)
hey Cecily
from what I've learned, you shouldn't look for illustrator as publishers tend to prefer to get their own.
I have some resources bookmarked, but they are all for the UK market, I think the thing to do is either try to get an agent who specializes in children's books or if you have no joy, approach publishers directly (though I've learned the best thing is to try and get an agent if possible).
If you check out the kind of books that are published and similar to the one you written and check out their publishers, that might be a useful first step?
I'm sure others will be along with much more useful advice soon.
Good luck!!!
Way to rock the attitude, the FIT and the BUTT!
You are an inspiration!
When is the 5k you're running? I'm running my first 5k in October. I'm pretty sure it's going to kill me.
Lorraine-your ass is fabulous! I can already see you kickin' it with the Derby Girls (so jealous!)
Ass Tanka. That nearly made me snort my grilled cheese sandwich!
(Now all the ladies at work will be wondering why I'm snickering the rest of the day...)
That is some serious flooding. A friend of mine shared some of her pictures, and it's just unbelieveable.
Yay for Cabal being home! I hope his recovery is easy and speedy. :-)
Also, go you! Work it, chica.
Cecily, I don't have children's book experience but I did once read that unless you harbor a strong interest in representing your own artwork for your story, you should wait for the pulisher to seek out an illustrator.
The Fiends are quiet.
Please save me from William's
watching iCarly.
blahblahblah rain
blahblahblah thunder, lightning blahblah
Enough? Please?
Unless, Dear Storm, you intend to break this FREAKING HOT SPELL..
...in that case, welcome!
Severe storms tomorrow, Beez. Come out to the show for them!
If I feel tomorrow night like I do now that show is going to ROCK!!!! I am so ready!!!!!
Good Luck Andrea! I do want to run one, but am a year away from it at this point.
Me and my BUTT are going to sit in the Hot Tub, even if it IS still 90 out..
I can tell you it is fitter than it was yesterday. ZUMBA unleashed all my pent up stress of the day, like fire ran thru me.
Just realized there have been NO BENGALS on this blog for the last five posts!
Don't TELL them.
nice ass. /whisper
and Ass Tanka! -
LMAO
Uh...huh.
Sever T-storms, flash flood warnings again.
Water in the basement...again.
Bah.
Which of us is going to be the first to come up with the guts to write Ass Tanka?
Jess is.
I'm waiting, Jess.
Well, we might wait some time apparently.
Anyone else want a piece of this?
Tanka poem. Not my Ass.
Good morning fiends!
I would try for Ass-Tanka, but I think I'm working at 15% capacity this morning.
Last night, I found out there are cemeteries in New Orleans where human remains are coming up to the surface and showing on top of the ground. I think I'm going to get proof, write about it, and find a way to fix it.
Tankas are scary
Ass or otherwise. I leave
it to the experts.
5-7-5-7-7 is scary? :/
Not particularly...but "ass or otherwise" seemed too good a concept to waste.
Hmm. Apparently Google has decided to eat any comment with a link to the YouTubes in. So no Flight of the Conchords for anyone.
Fine! Ass Tanka.
I can't be bothered
to contemplate the ass to
day, or even
adhere all that closely to a
syllabic structure. Bum clouds.
Jess, that was very beautiful.
Thank you.
This morning is spent
reading Jane Eyre - I am at
the creepy part where
there is a laugh in the night -
I take my leave to read more.
I'm glad you liked it, Q. I worked really hard on it.
Why do I feel like I want a nap? It's only 11:30. Coffee.
I could tell that you worked very hard, Jess. I appreciate the effot that you put into making ASS Tanka a cultural part of our little group.
Severe storms coming today! If you are here, join me in STillwater for some real excitement!!!!

Well, I **am** on holiday now, but even with the lure of Thunderstorms, and Floods, and Q's Ass, I don't think I can make it to Stillwater.
On the plus side, the Drive-By Builders have been back, and my naked porch is naked no longer!
This comment has been removed by the author.
"Ass Tanka" the form,
Fabulous derriere muse,
Jess only Fiend dares?
I, too, ass-pire to compose
Callipygian poetry.
;)
Blogger has been eating my comments this afternoon but I have internet at our new house now, yay! Evil IT people at work mean that I can't post any comments from the office anymore (blanket ban on all social networking which is annoying as there is quite a bit of useful local government stuff on Twitter!)
I love Jane Eyre, tis very spooky. I visited the Bronte house a few weeks ago - some pics
That is truly fantastic, Hellie. Amazing.
Lorraine, you look awesome in that picture!
Headaches prevent me
from coming up with naughty
poetry for you
Then again I might have to
write about Q's nice bottom
Sorry, it's my first time attempting Ass Tanka.
Hellie, your pictures of the Bronte house are gorgeous!
Me and my newly wonderful ass are going to kick rock butt in Stillwater tonight.
I don't care if I melt.
I don't care if storms go severe.
I want to pour the world thru my violin.
Wonderful photos Hellie.
Its really stormy here too - so windy, which means I'm feeling edgy.
My morning started with following Tysie around as she threw up her breakfast. *sigh*
I think it it storming everywhere right now! Maybe it's the Apocalypse.
Have fun rocking out.
Oh, my friend and I were making jewelry in my room today, and first I turned on the radio but my favorite station wasn't playing something enjoyable ... and so I said, "Let's rock," and put on your CD, Lorraine ... we both had a great time and made lovely jewelry.
Sally, sick cat? Or just the norm? Cat throw-up was xuch as everyday part of part of our lives for so long - seemed normal.
We've had the kittens for almost 2 months and no throw-up at all! OK I've jinxed myself but wow. Such a couple of healthy creatures I hardly know how to act!
Y'know, the more I look at that photo of the woods (and your beautiful behind), the more I'm reminded of the woods near my house.
Were it not for the mosquitoes I'd go there so much more.
Hi, Poindextra! Now
A Fiend we consider you!
Buckled white jacket
Is yours to personalize.
Each of us has at least one. :)
Queen Empress of Fiends,
Bodacious booty brings ROCK
To Charlie's tonight!
Too awesome for amps or storm,
Flick those lighters in tribute!
I'd just like to add that Poindextra is a brilliant name.
Quiche Medeadly rocks
the ass of the world through her
Violin of Doom:
Even the unicorn's ass
won't escape its mighty strains.
And all new Fiends should
be aware that we do not
always use Haiku.
Sharon, Tysie chucks up not so much frequently, nor infequently - in between. Usually when she's eaten too quickly.
Too tired to make everything into poems today.
Hey, any Fiends read Nalini Singh's books? I'm in the middle of a stack and loving them.
Rory went for the canned food! Woo hoo! She seems less "starved all the time" with it, water consumption has slowed.
I will check her blood sugars this weekend and see where we stand for the mo'.
And now, to lightly poach some chicken for her...
I feel like a Quiche.
I think we should, though.
(Always use haiku, that is.)
Keeps the brain agile,
and prevents me rambling on
about my breakfast and that.
No Jess, just a No.
Not enough coffee or tea
Brain function alack.
drove through storms today. yep. storms aplenty.
reading rec: Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys is a fascinating follow-up read to Jane Eyre.
Marjorie - yay for having your porch back! did the tiles reappeared as mysteriously as they disappeared?
happy rocking Ms Medeadly!
This morning, before I left for work, I saw a framed painting leaned up against the table in the laundry room, so I yoinked it. Then, a few minutes ago, I found an awesome end table on top of the laundry room table, wiped it down, and yoinked that, too. It is a round table but set up sort of like a leafed table with hinges, but instead of going down, the leafs fold upand have little handles, and it transforms into a square. I think I probably should take pictures. I'm going to paint it gaudy colors.
Tomorrow I'm going to investigate reports I've heard of dead bodies coming out of the ground in one of the cemeteries. A friend is bringing her camera, and I plan on writing a piece about it. I think it's important that people know that this is happening in a cemetery that is somewhat forgotten because it's where poor people are buried.
wendy i found a great book case that we sanded and love once by the dumpster. in my previous apartment someone abandoned a kitchen cart that i used to hold my tv and related electronics, the shelves were idea for all the boxes connected to the tv. trash to treasure for the win :)
Sally, I am on
something like chapter six in
the John Marsden book.
Ms Medeadly. I like that. Goes with my new Ass. Oops! Hard to type, hands are feeling he ROCK from last night.
Now I need hand massage.
And foot massage.
I suppose one might just do the whole things massage as well.
HELP ME!!!!!!!
Where is Nathilie? Not that she gives me massages, but I miss her. Hard to keep track of my Fiends some days, you scatter so.
Love and Good Mornng, Ms Medeadly.
Good morning all!
Computer wonky yesterday and I couldn't log on...so this is a little late to the party
Ass tanka she asks?
I will oblige and write one,
delivering bits
of silliness just to make
you all laugh your asses off.
Or maybe just a giggle. I bow in awe of Jess' wordsmithery... the tanka w/ violins and unicorn ass was sublime.
Good gig Lorraine?
GREAT gig! Had a pretty cool moment with a family with an autistic daughter. She LOVED the music, and me. Couldn't stop smiling, and would call out things like YOU ARE SO FUNNY! THANK YOU! PLEASE WILL YOU PLAY ANOTHER!!!!
The family thanked me after and said I had made their holiday being so nice to their daughter and treating her like anyone else.
Told them, are you kidding? How can you not love someone who loves your music so?
I kind of thought they had done ME the favor.
I get PAID to play music and make people SO happy.
They are going to wake up and talk about how wonderful the night was.
Of course, there ARE, (this I know), going to be people who wake up this morning thinking "OH GODS I FEEL HORRIBLE HOW MUCH DID I DRINK? THERE WAS MUSIC? WAS IT GOOD"
Working on my feet all day is making my ass follow Lorraine's ass. Maybe one day they will meet up in whatever universe it is asses go to when the are no longer needed.
That could have made an interesting haiku, but I'm about to run out the door.
The Muppet Dance guys. Anyone else remember the Muppet dudes from the back of the pub?
Ah,the Muppet dudes: Yeah, I remember when I had my first beer.
/not my joke
I seem to recall that Nathalie said something about being on vacation-- and by that I presume she meant Serious Vacation with no phone or internet. That may be where Chantrelle went, too, now I think about it.
We need Nathalie for Ass Tanka. Only I think she's a little too classy for that. Unlike me. There's nothing to stand between me and bum poetry.
Nathalie is all about the bum, have you seen the pictures she takes of statues? Lovely, lovely stone asses ;-)
But see, her photographs transcend the ass. Her asses are noble and beautiful. I just like making childish bum jokes.
Wow Lorraine, Nice ASS!!
Yes, i come back after a week away from technology of any sort and that is my first comment.
I missed you all dearly but it was so nice to have no computer or phone for a week. We ate too much, we hiked a lot, we read and sat in hammocks. We took ben to yosemite and climbed up Bridalveil Falls. My legs hurt. It was awesome.
Ben is at my mom's for the weekend while hubby and I celebrate our 11th anniversary today. Nobody call or stop by ;-)
YOU FIENDS ARE SO FRIKKIN DIRTY!
My Ass is not dirty. I bathed. Recently. I am sure of it.
I think of Nathilie came back now she would be mighty surprised at the turn we have taken.
Pretty darn hot here. ZUmba kicked my no doubt very clean ass this morning. Hadn't factored in post gig tired. Came home and slept for an hour just now. DEAD like a doornail.
There's going to be a ROCK STAR energy drink on the way to the gig tonight I am thinking. Got to be up earlier than is healthy too, tomorrow.
Chatter me nicely while I am gigging PLEASE!!!!!!!! I really like reading comments while I am on break, puddle of goo that I shall be, I'll need me some Fiends!
Right.
Well!
Hope it's a great gig. Better, I should hope, than the town play I had to sit through tonight.
Are you loving the book Em? I fly through them all, I adore them so much.
I am not clean yet. Its a wet and dreary Sunday morning, therefore I can stay in my PJ's longer.
Happy Anniversary Robyn - enjoy your snickersnoo time together *wink*
Good ricking MsMeadlyFabloPrincessOfNoQuiche
Ah yes Chantrelle, happy anniversary indeed! And Sally I DEFINITELY love the novel.
How's the rock, Goo Medeadly?
Thunderstorms rolling in here, apparently. I blame Minnesota.
goo?
i would think goo would hamper rock.
Not rock goo.
We've had a pleasant sort of cold front in Rhode Island.
We've had a pleasant sort of cold front in Rhode Island.
Stupid double posting.
Hi Fiends!
Sadly I could not go to Charlie's tonight. Hope the rock is rocking Q!
Not sure why fiends are dirty? I think I missed something.
We would totally drop in on the rock-goo for an anniversary celebration if we were 2000 miles closer. Instead we had a wonderful dinner and now we'll have movie and wine.
Hmm, now I want to listen to Sonic Youth (Goo is my favorite album) :)
Dirty for their love of ASS. No worries, Fiends, I hope no one took that seriously.
No Worries Li-Em!
Just thought I must have missed something!
I am quite clean myself. Freshly even. As for my mind...that is a completely different story. And not one I'm ashamed of!
Off topic, I am doing research into finding a writers agent. Does anyone have one or know of one that they might recommend for appeal to? I am quite worried about scams. But I am well aware that anyone that asks me for money upfront is not legit.
Also...does anyone have any interest in reading the story I wrote based on Blake Says? If there is interest I might be able to put in somewhere on the web behind a password for perusing.
quite clean here. took monsters for a swim in a really nice indoor pool complete with waterfall and slide. also hot tub. mmmmm hot tub: i particularly love that first minute or so after you get in. bliss.
not too entertaining, here. we've been stateside for a funeral, so i've lived a month in one week it feels, and been wrestling with thoughts of mortality and the emotions of grief mixed with the joys of seeing many living loved ones. i kept thinking irreverently of these Lyle Lovett lyrics:
I went to a funeral
Lord it made me happy
Seeing all those people
I ain’t seen
Since the last time
Somebody died
Everybody talking
They were telling funny stories
Saying all those things
They ain’t said
Since the last time
Somebody died
although there was a reunion last summer and one of the cousins is getting married next month. and we celebrated two other cousins' birthdays the day of the funeral. there were some moments of family drama and even the revealing of secrets. like a George Elliot novel come to life it was.
life. it's just crazy.
Cecily, I can't offer any advice about agents but I'd be interested in reading your story. (my email address is on my blog)
Good to hear there was rock!
I am now in deepest (slow internetty) Devon - had a very tedious drive to get here, but nice now I'm here - and my parents house is much better for stargazing than mine, hardly any light pollution. The clouds cleated enough for us to see shooting stars last night!
Magic let me tickle his tummy when I came back home just now!!!!!
WAY worth getting up after 4 hours of sleep for...
He's a massive, soppy love muffin, is what he is. :D
My cats woke me at 3:45 am to tell me it was time to Go Downstairs, else they'd chew all the electrical cables in the room. So we Went Downstairs, and I rattled their bowls, which makes them think the food is fresh out of the bag. Hah! Stupid cats. Then I went to bed again.
/thrilling tale of mystery and adventure
there's a new Buffy comic out this week, and that's exciting enough for me. :D
Ceci, i'd be happy to read your story, too. i'll DM my email via some social media thingie somewhere.
& yay for Magic tummy rubs! wow. seems the possibilities for him are almost limitless -- slow to develop, yes, but seems like almost anything could happen for him.
Yes, Magic's really come a looooong way. Yay for Buffy comics. I have a friend who is a passionate Buffy-lover. I am a Buffy-liker who hasn't seen enough.
Na, I love those lyrics. I can't say I have heard many Lyle Lovett songs, but those words really speak to me. They actually make me want to share a story from my youth.
I was lucky enough to know my great-grandparents growing up. We put their ashes in the ground after both had passed. I was in my early teens. After the service, we all went to eat together. Going across the parking lot I was skipping and happy. My Uncle yelled at me and told me that I wasn't behaving properly for the occasion. I still don't understand it. I was surrounded by an entire side of my family. I was with my favorite person in the world, my grandmother, and we were their to honor my great grandparent's lives. Not to stop living ourselves.
It is because of that that I am able to teach my kids it is ok to have times of happiness after you lose someone, just as equally as it is ok to have times of grief.
(((HUGS)))
The Bengals tell em ofter I FORGOT to feed them, and they have not eaten. Generally, I buy that.
Went back to bed, things are much happier now. Major house choree going on!
Pleased to hear Magic is becoming so much more relaxed. It's a fine thing to know one's home.
Cecily, I would enjoy reading your book...let us know if you post or would like to send it out.
Na, I understand your being of two minds about funerals...loss is sad, but then we are surrounded by those we've not seen in ages. If I have my druthers, I'd prefer folks skipping and laughing and singing at my own...
Great live music at a friend's last night...now to laundry (sigh)

"em ofter" ?????
No more waking at down and slamming coffee after 4 hours sleep.
I did go back to bed tho. ROCK-me won.
Feel great now and am re-doing one of my bedrooms.
I think I should do Bengal pics tonight, and a new post.
FIT-you needs sleep, too. Three hours is the standard length of one full sleep cycle; once you're on to four hours, you're into the beginning of the next sleep cycle. So you're more likely to feel tired and miserable on four hours than three, or on five hours than six. In other words: if you've only had four hours and your body's telling you to go back to bed, hey, no shame in that.
I'm not accomplishing anything today, but it's Sunday, so I feel okay about that.
Pi are you on the Facebooks?
i have a book of faces, it is under donielle gross. i'm happy to connect with fiends :)
yeah for rock!
i would also be interested in reading cecily.
and *hugs* na
Yi! I am. The book of faces refers to me as amy pass.
ps: Buffy rocks!
Hope much ROCK was had! Oh and that's so lovely that Magic let you rub his tum!
Cecily I'd like to read it to! Have a lovely time in Devon Marjorie; will be down there myself in a few weeks :o)
I am actually rather dirty, having been scraping wallpaper, cleaning carpets, building beds & all sorts of exciting things today - I second the need for a massage! But bathtime now then time to try the new bed. Night fiends!
ps Vampi just send you a friend request on facebook (Helen Lee)
Let's see... I'd like to read the book, Cecily, as well. I am on the book of faces as Katie Hynes, for anyone wishing to friend me.
Also, I have been seduced by Fallen London, which makes me actually want to follow Fiends on Twitter. (Siri, I feel disloyal, but began to tweet when DD went to Italy.) I am owlsmom, and will need to approve you, if you want to follow me... I don't say much, my life is not as excited as Lorraine's.
Yicks. Worked at the Festival site in the rain, had one hard cider, and now my brain is dripping out of my ears. Can't recall what else I wanted to say.
Prolly just "Yay Fiends" Oh and {{{NA}}}}
Took Lola Roller Bladeing. Successful in that no one was hurt, but it did serve to reinforce my belief that I have no muscles.
That sounds likely to end badly. Glad no injuries...
roller blading -- eeeek!
sorry. flashback. i like those other skates. what do Roller Derby folks use?
and thanks, you lot. we're all doing pretty well, all things considered. and quite right: it's good to still be here.
speaking of here, more than anything, at this particular moment, i am simply glad to be back at our abode, and OUT OF THE *bleeping* CAR.
"other skates" = old-fashioned skates :P
Bless you Lorraine, I just had the best image of Lola on blades.
For any newish Fiends, and others who didn't know or have forgotten we have a Fablo page on The Book Of Faces...
(goes to check address)
this is where you find it
Oh dear, its been pretty inactive...gang, lets bump it up!
I haven't been on roller blades since college! I have taken ben roller skating though and i can still do that...hurts the ankles a bit but not as much as ice skating does!
On the kid-less docket tonight: sushi delivered and Zombieland (nope, haven't seen it before!). We're catching up on our movies. Ben comes home tomorrow w/ grandma and grandpa :)
WAY too many Bengal Pictures and about Freaking time I say!
New post is UP!
Oh, wow!
Forgive my tardiness in reply, I tend to get my head wrapped up in lots of things.
I'm glad I'm welcome here!
And thank you for loving the name. <3
I shall not tweet....in that, I am resolute.
Real quick before I move on to the new post...I am trying to get everyone's email that wants to give my book a read.
And I adore roller blading! I tried skating last year with the older skates and could barely stand, so I decided to upgrade to the blades, which I hadn't been on since I was a teen...it came back so easily. I wish I could afford a pair, I would totally skate all the time.
Cecily, I will FB you my email....
Nice butt.
