And Now For Something Completely Different...

The Girl in the Tree

I saw you once, in the tree.
The trunk had opened enough, for you.
It was summer, and the forest was growing, and it was green.
The green at the end of summer, where
All the leaves are just starting to suspect that
Things might not stay the same forever, I saw you.
For the moment, there and alive.
Or Magic.

I knew who you were, always have, there's no mistaking those eyes,
No uncertainty, no guessing
And never, ever, any doubt.
I would not be here to tell this tale had there ever been any doubt.
For doubt, you know, is fatal.
And there are things you see in the world
You don't wonder about, they are real,
Whatever appearance they wear,
Or Magic.

I knew you long before the tree, this I can remember,
And I've known you long after, for too many years, as men
Reckon time in this world and I know this:
I am the one who caused you to be there, and I am
The only one who still believes in you, there,
But what I don't know, what I do not remember, is if I am a Hero,
Or a Monster, was it love, or betrayal?
Or both?
Or Magic?

I went out today, to the tree, in the snow,
Just when the sun was falling from the sky,
And the moon struggling to rise,
The leaves, the green, were gone, dead, still, and nothing,
No sound, no sign
Anywhere that anything has ever been,
Or will be, again.
I saw the tree, dark, closed and silent.
I touched it, but felt nothing, saw nothing,
Nothing of you,
Or Magic.

I went away then, but I remember this:
I saw you once, in the tree, alive again, or still,
For a moment, there, and known, then gone.
I promised myself I would never cry, again,
So those cannot have been tears, of relief or sorrow or joy or triumph?
And even so,
I have always known the tree will never give up its secrets,
Even if there is much else I have forgotten,
About you.
Or Magic.

Love and Poetry,
Lorraine

  8. Thank you, Fiends, I debated posting it, but rather liked it, and thought it might make for a change from Derby, FIT and Bengals.

Writing is coming back to me again, which makes me happy.

I am going back to the gym for a little double wham of Zumba/Weight, trying to get this mornings Prissy Bitch class out of my head. Ugh. Those women were horrible.

There's day gym and night gym and I think our sort come out at night.

Hi I know you have posted info about Bengals before that need rescuing. Well I have been keeping a eye on our local Peninsula SPCA in Newport News, VA and found they have posted a picture of a female Bengal named Jewels who needs to be adopted. I don't think my SPCA works with any VA Bengal rescue group, and tried to find one in VA but the email address I found seems to be outdated. I was wonderinf you could post the information about her, or give the address of a rescue group in VA. She has been in the SPCA for five days know, and is called Jewel.
She located on this website under the name Jewels. She looks like a purebreed to me, but I don't Bengals that well. Other than yours. Here is the site

She is under the name Jewels.

  13. Kicked serious prissy ass this morning. The longer their noses got, the friendlier I was. They hated me. Good. I am their nightmare.

My ass got gym kicked tonight. GODS. Can hardly MOVE. Just twittered for someone to come and heat up my burrito for me, I don't think I can quite manage it.

I mean, I'd have to heat up the rice/tofu stuff. And you know, wrap it in the tortilla, then bring it BACK to the sunroom.

Like I have THAT kind of energy????

    Not bloody likely.

  14. Great. I'm dying here, burritoless and you lot are in hiding. And after I wrote you a nice poem and all.

  15. I'm here, but I'm working on a review so I can't make your burrito.

    So sorry.

  16. I'm here...just battling a washing machine that doesn't want to work - with a load of half washed clothes. Grrr.
Could you come and kick its prissy arse too?

  17. I would microwave a burrito for you, but it'd be cold by the time FedEx delivered it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I did the burrito myself. Thank you.

Now I just need to bathe. And go to bed.

Not sure I should twitter for someone to take me to bed.

  19. Only if you're not particular about the company you might get. Or whether their best friend is, say, a sledgehammer called Darla.

  20. If I wanted to make a burrito for myself right now, I could not, much less make it to your place and do it. Sorry Dear.

  21. There. Bathed. Going to try and stay up till 9. Might make it. Wouldn't take bets tho...

  22. Very nice. I especially liked this image:

The green at the end of summer, where
All the leaves are just starting to suspect that
Things might not stay the same forever

And the tears that surly are not there.

Great way to end my internet day.

  23. That was not a "nice" poem. That was much much more.

Glad you kicked prissy bitch ass today. Tell Little Evil not to let them get her down- they are made of polyester and FAKE and she and you and our kind are made of REAL.

....and we DO come out at night.

  24. I love it when you guys tell me things you liked about my things I wrote, makes me all happy inside, which is a nice start to the day.

Nice day here too. Started with epistles at 5 with Joan of Dark, moving onto riding with Poetry, and at the end of the day, a Little Evil.

My life is turning into a poem.
