Feeling The Love, a Hundred Times Over...

Now THIS was a fine night!

Started nicely with a call to two jet-lagged travelers in New York, tired, but there, a few minutes before I had to leave for the gig, and that settled, I toddled off to my gig.

And the gig was over the moon.

Packed, and felt the love from moment one. Couldn't get enough. Told the story of last night, and had the place ready to march on the country club. It was a two set night, meaning we didn't take the second break and played straight thru. St Pats has officially started!

I got to Fling Bling, which I always enjoy, meaning I had a bag of St Pats Swag to toss at will, No drinks were spilled, tho it was a close thing, especially with the Guinness Bottle Openers.

Fods, thank you everyone who was there tonight, you made my heart happy.

There was one couple there, who I was sure I had seen before, and they told me St Pats was on a Wednesday next year. This was important, as they had the tradition of seeing us, and staying at the hotel, the Saturday nearest St Pats, for the past FOUR years. And they would book this room as they checked out, but if it was on a Wednesday, which weekend would we be playing, they needed to know as they lived some six hours away.

Feel the love? Oh my yes.

I had to tell them I did not know, and suggested they book both, and I would let them know in January and they could cancel one, but either way, I wanted to see them.

It was like that al night. Old friends, New friends. Much rock.

I think I feel like WHAT the heck did I do to deserve so much love?

There was a night, a long time ago, when I was still a barely teenager, that I saw a concert, I will tell the story someday, where I went home and spent the entire next day crying, and I told my Mom that all I ever wanted was to make people feel like that, to make that magic, to mean something to someone, where they would come away from a show feeling like I did then.

She said "Well, why don't you?"

I think I did. And you know what?

I got more than I gave.

I have nine hours on St Pats day to show you how much it means to me.

And I will give you everything in me.

Love and Music,
Lorraine

So glad to hear this! (And love the mental image of a whole group of happy revellers, led by the fiddler, marching on the Country Club - If we have to hold a revolution in order to usher in the New Fiendocracy can we start it like that?)

Hope you are sleeping sweetly and enjoying good dreams now.

Thanks Sal, Ticia, Vampi, Siri & Marjorie.

Quiche, my eyes were foggy by the end of the post. I'm glad tonight was a good gig for you.

We look forward to more awesomeness on St Pat's, or the day after, if you're over here. Which is good, we get 2 St Pat's.

At 05:15 Blogger Marjorie said...

Nathalie - just read and enjoyed your interview (and will be adding authorblog to my reading list!) I was trying to make out what the picture which you were sitting in front of, in your photograph was - it looks interesting.

That post really made me smile. It's nice to hear the other side of things, when I am still always the emotional fan you describe, to hear how it can make the artist feel to be able to touch people like that.

I'm so happy you clicked with the audience tonight. A happy heart is a.... well, a happy heart.

I bet, if you go riding today, that you will be taller in the saddle. It's amazing how a happy heart is a boost to confidence and self-esteem.

Nathalie, thanks for the Sunday morning read and photo. Entertaining and enlightening as always. As I've said before, I love your eye.

So, good morning fiends! I hope today is productive or restful, depending on your needs.

Morning!

Nice interview, Nathilie! Loved the dream more!!!!! Thank you for linking.

Still happy from last night, and thinking riding today will be just lovely.

Dragonbec, welcome! It means more than you can possible know. It's kind of the WHY in a way.

Two more days.....

Morning cats and kitties. :)

SO glad the gig was magic. You give so much!

OK. Day of work for me. I had a lovely pep talk from a fried last night and feel up to doing what needs to be done. Sometimes just showing up is all you can do. And all you need to do.

Looking forward to Tuesday (is the understatement of the year!).

At 11:00 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Gayle, you will have friends and more friends on Tuesday! And the sun is coming back, ad surely it will be spring at SOME point????

Might be today, I have the windows open and the Bengals are going NUTS. I think I will take them walking after I ride...

Ha ha! Fried = Friend. :)

Thanks Q! Have fun riding.

At 11:14 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Nice new pic too Gayle!

Where are the FIends this morning???

I went to the store for some milk and got someone else's groceries !!!! I know I sure didn't buy a doughnut alone with my milk. Nope.

Now trying to tea the same headache away.

At 11:34 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Well, now, that's not so much fun.....Hope the tea works for you. It's doing good things here today.

At 11:35 Blogger gaypet said...

Thanks, Q! :)

Nathalie, I command your headache be gone! *did it work?*

This is part of my horoscope today:

"Be pitiless toward those who don't cease putting spokes in your wheel."

It's not very good grammar but it may be good advice.

Wow. I slept until almost 11 am. Must have needed it!

So very cool that the connection and flow of love was happening last night. It is so great for everyone when that happens.

But now, for some reason, I want donuts.

I don't even know what to say, except that I can't wait to meet you in June.

At 13:04 Blogger Stardustgirl said...

Hooray for a fun gig! And I'm betting they paid as expected too (happy audience is great; payment puts the milk and doughnuts in the grocery bag, no?)

I pried myself away from tech troubleshooting to go outside and check on the flowers. We have crocuses in bloom and daffodils peeking up with some leaf tips. One winter aconite is here... don't know if the others died from an unusual cold snap or if some critter ate them.

At 13:48 Blogger Marjorie said...

Bengal walking sounds as though it would require much skill & patience! hope you and they have fun.

I have a primrose pant in my garden which has flowered in the past few days. This makes me happy.

they drop like flies.

ok! going to hang out with my real BF and my pretend BF THE COMEDIAN.
Q, i want those Bengal leash photos, I took Kylie to airport to pick up Drew one time, she LoVED it.
(but not on a leash)
today she ate all her own chicken then double- timed it over to Batman's dish and bumped him outta the way.

"... all I ever wanted was to make people feel like that, to make that magic, to mean something to someone..."

Every day, Quiche, every day, you make us feel better about ourselves, the world we share and the parts we all have in it. Every day you mean something to each of us, and every day we mean something to each other, because of the example you set.

I can't do the things you do. I can't do the things Val and Grace and Nathalie do. I could list everyone I know from here, saying I can't do what they do. I don't want to do many of them. I can, however, do the things I do. And, because of the exposure to ideas and ideals and causes I've had by coming here, I can do the things I do better than I did before.

Everyone who writes here, or lurks here, or trolls here takes away a little bit of good every time we come here. That spreads throughout the cosmos, lightening the load each of us carries.

Fod Bless Us, Everyone.

(I wanna see pictures of kitties on leashes, too!)

Hugs to all who dwell in this place.

Thank goodness for great gigs that eradicate the toll of previous, blighted nights.

It's cold and wet here today, so Xander and Molly and I are playing games. It's been a while since we played board games and, thankfully, they've outgrown the chance games and are asking to play games of strategy. So much more fun for me. Hehehe.

I have named my army "The Bee-Bengal Alliance" and defiantly started a land war in Asia. (Hitler never played Risk.)

At 14:12 Blogger Siri said...

Holy Wow! You are here forever! I'm psyched!

At 14:17 Blogger Marjorie said...

Well, I thought if I was going to come all the way to America I might as well stay for a little while and look around some!

Dan, I'm not sure you should be honing your world domination skills, or raising up future world leaders..

(Psst. Can we mobilise Cabal's cabal to nip this in the bud?)

At 14:19 Blogger Siri said...

No Dan No - not one of the classic blunders??!!??

Freshly made soup is especially tasty after a long hike.

Loved reading about the gig, yin and yang for the two very different audiences - a crappy one makes you value an appreciative one even more.

Nat, thanks for both links, I always love your poppet pics!

Kitty! Watchmen! (did I mention here that I saw & enjoyed it?) Go for the biggest screen possible.

Hi Siri ::waves:: got your emails, will respond momentarily.

Darn it, there was more but Brain is in Sunday mode.... note to self: take notes

At 14:45 Blogger Jess said...

Get all the purples, Dan! That's the way.

Wow, Louisa. That's some hiking all right. Bee-yootiful.

I got me a poppet now. It lives on my desk. And stares.

Wull, hello peeplz.

Reading this blog entry, Lorraine, I keep thinking of the Dine "Beauty Way" chant.

Hope the cosmic clue pony kicks the country club folks and they cough up whatever they ought to be paying you.

Monsters are watching Nanny McPhee - I am going to go watch the last bit with them. Usually leaves us all laughing 'til we cry. "Bee hive!"

At 16:24 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Aww, Siri, thank you!

Tho I might ASK if you all like me so much, why you go into hiding whenever I pop in???HMMM??????????

Hee-hee-.

GREAT ride! Loved it. Everyone there is so cool. Cantered even, and had a blast. No fear today. Stepped back again and rode Western. It's a little more secure, for me anyway. That horse can GO!!!! Heck of a workout, walk is not something she enjoys.

Waiting for my neighbor to get home, you need two to walk both kitties. It's a lot of fun, but I can't manage them both, it's not like you can tell them where to go, and they don't HEEL or anything...

I was never all that good at risk....

Didn't get paid last night, but gigs thru our booking agent get paid thru him, he sends checks every couple of weeks...

At 16:33 Blogger Marjorie said...

Yay for good rides (and Good neighbours who help with walking Bengals!)

At 17:04 Blogger Marjorie said...

Now, if I could win the lottery in the meantime....

Yah for wonderful riding Quiche. I hope the Venus and Mim enjoy their walk.

dan...can i interest you in some wine flavored with iocane powder?

i got my poppet to!! no pictures yet, i've been really uninspired with my camera. actually uninspired all around. need some time off from work, but it's so busy.

At 19:07 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Madam, riding Western is most certainly NOT stepping back! I have been doing hunter/jumpers since I can remember (it is my vocation) and would just love a reining horse. Just because the saddle is a bit bigger and more secure does not lessen the achievement!
Good job :)

At 19:26 Blogger EmilyLady said...

Good evening from tickybox, Fiends (so glad I now know what tickybox means).

At 19:31 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Glad you had a good ride, Q! And I can't wait to see the bengals being walked on leashes.

We are comfortably settled in at the Water Inn in Stillwater. The chairs are comfy, the tub looks heavenly (as soon as I'm done icing my knee I'm going to try it out!) and the internet is fast. There's also the smell of popcorn wafting up from the pub, I might just have to go get some.

It was a lovely day for a drive, and I loved reading your comments as we drove along. Of course, my brain has totally fried, so actually responding to them is more than I can do right now.

Whoever is going to be here on Tuesday for the show, I'll have a Dr. House cane (black with flames). That will probably be the easiest way to find me :-)

~Toni

Wicked, welcome, and you are absolutely correct. After I wrote that, I thought, "Kind of sounded like I just dissed anyone who rides western as a woos" I should have said indeed it was not a step back, but rather a way for me to feel more secure.

Thank you for commenting, I am putting it on a sticky note to remember.

Would love to chat with you, (Or anyone who rides and loves horses) if you ever want to drop me an e-mail it's fabulouslorraine@gmail.com advice welcome!

Oh, new post up, says the women who gets nervous riding but lives with five Leopards....

I have been stood up!

Got back from weekend trip, met by boy who said, "Gee, didn't know when you were getting back. B and I are going out to dinner. I guess you can come if you want."
And out the door he went, less than 5 minutes later.

Apparently "I'll be back between 7 and 8, and we can have dinner" was unclear in some way...

Gives me more time to catch up on comments, right? :)
