On Combining Writing a Post and Watching Me Some TV....

I am watching ER. Haven't much in the past few seasons, but these last episodes deserve a look, to be sure. Dr Ross and Nurse Hathaway are trying to get a new kidney from a brain dead guy to give to Neela and Sam, to take back for a patient, but get this, they don't know it is for Dr Carter!!!!!

Is that exciting or what??????

I think I have been working too hard this week.

It is confirmed now for St Pats Day and Night! 3:00pm to Midnight! Starting in the pub and moving to the ballroom, and we will, Dr Wicked willing, be streaming it live for the entire nine hours! THAT is surely more exciting than ER, eh?

Oh, it's at the Water Street Inn in Stillwater, the regular Charlie's Pub. Please do come down if you live near enough, if you want to chat live with Fiends around the world and give them the hot off camera moments, bring your laptops, it's all wi-fi'd.

Dr Benton has just come to visit Dr Carter, it seems he is working now at the same hospital Dr Carter is STILL waiting for the kidney in!! The Grandmother of the Brain Dead Guy is Susan Sarandon! Will she give up the Body Parts????

Magic MEWED me when I came in tonight! And came to his door and greeted me with his little Mews! Which he hasn't done since the Great Basement Adventure! Makes my heart very happy. I wonder if there is any way to get a glass door for his room, I could curtain it, but then he could look out. Have to ask my experts if he would like that, he sure seems interested in Out There.

HA! Got the body parts! But the plane left without Neela and Sam! They seemed to have hopped a ride with a Reggee Band who was going on private plane to Cleveland (Reggee in Cleveland??) Dr Carter refuses to call his wife, who is in Paris, but Dr Benton is going to stay with him. He seems to be scrubbing in.Dr Carter is going Under The Knife! There seem to be complications. Wait, that's the heart transplant. We don't know much about that. Nope, wait again, Dr Carter is, uh, having no heart beat!!!! All hearts have stopped.

Venus has stopped trying to kill Mim and is sitting near me on my floor. I am sending e-mails in between watching and writing. No one sleeps this week, or stops. Working is good. It's meant to be warm enough to ride tomorrow which is good, and Paul and I are playing a private party. Also good, but kind of fancy, as in must find something wearable. And Bathe. Spoke to soon on Venus. Back to killing Mim, apparently for possession of the Kitty Chaise. Which she only wants when Mim does.

Dr Carter has made it thru and is talking to Dr Benton, who has not left his side. He will now call his wife, I am betting. HA! Got it in one. Now Dr Ross and Nurse Hathaway are lying in bed having just got the call the kidney worked for "Some Doctor" Naked. Cool.

I hope you have enjoyed this episode of one of the final ER's. Most likely better than actually watching it, yes????

Love and TV,
Lorraine

And I actually read it before commenting. Of course, a comment consisting only "First" is pretty inane. But competitive!!

Thank you for covering that ER episode so well that I didn't have to watch it!! As it is just now coming on here, and in direct conflict with one of my favourite shows, Eleventh Hour.

I will still pop over during commercials, just to try and get a glance of the hottie of all time.

Yup, I'm a Cloonette. :)

Oh, come on now!! How can I kill a thread right at birth. Not MEEEEE!!!!

Sigh.

Just dropping in to say I've never watched an entire episode of ER. I am a cultural wasteland. Just who I am, I guess.

Loved me some Chicago Hope, though. Mandy Patinkin. Sigh.

Just finished writing checks for bills. Payday tomorrow. Off to bed now, even though it would be more fun to stay up and chat with Lys, whom I've missed.

At 22:20 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Nurse Hathawayette here. She can't compete with Detective Benson tho...

Did enjoy me some Clooney tho, very hot. He nailed his character again, while Juliana seemed to have forgotten who Nurse Hathway was...

At 22:22 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Mandy Patinkin! Okay, also total hottie. Sigh.

I left you a note on the previous thread, Siri *hugs*!

At 22:24 Anonymous Anonymous said...

I just caught a couple of minutes during the Eleventh Hour commercial break...just HAPPENED to get Ross and Julianna...and you are so right. She has "matured" into a rather cold woman, is MY snap judgement :)

Pretty fond of all the SUV (snicker) detectives, my ownself. Mariska Hargitay is yet another serious hottie, even more so after having her kiddie!

i'm off to bed, and missing you all. so exhausted i am thinking the couch looks better than the bed upstairs. thanks for the update on er lorraine! i watched it years ago, and heard they were bringing everyone back for the final season- i will have to look for it online later. magic seems to be just coming right along! yey! Oh, and Siri, i loved chicago hope too.. sigh. yeah, mandy.......

At 22:29 Blogger Siri said...

OK, Lys, I'll admit I giggled when the chick slid down the dog's back, but other than that - I was in what Marjorie calls a Stabby mood when I got home, so I wanted someone to eat someone.

I'm feeling much better now!

Good thing I'm not epileptic. The harsh weather passing through is evidently messing up our satellite connection, and there are these wonderfully irregular almost subliminal blackouts and flashes. It is fitting the Eleventh Hour storyline, though....

Killer Perfume At Fashion Week.

I kid you not.

At 22:30 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I made some of my letters slant in my post. I think you will agree it looks MUCH cooler and dramatic now.

I think Magic has forgiven me, Sue, rest you well!

Glad you are happier now Siri! We are very cheerful here!

Killer Perfume???

I liked the chick slide as well :)

But the cat indulging in proper cat predator behavior while little chickies were dancing all over and around it? That was a side-splitter..to me, anyway.

i read that fast about the live show and thought it said 'live screaming' which come to think on it; might make more sense considering the alcohol content of the bar that day. love and miss you all!

Yup, but I don't want to tell you more in case you watch the show sometime....

Rufus Sewell (dark haired actor, often the bad guy in movies involving costumes and/or swords...such as A Knight's Tale) as been installed as this genius if oddball scientist working for the FBI to solve even more oddball cases. Doesn't QUITE go into the supernatural....but is VERY creative.

Kinda House meets Mentalist meets X Files :)

I like it, anyway...

Hi Fiends!

I'm not here for long, I've GOT to go to bed. This lurgy is killing me.

I have no voice... Well, I have Darth Vader's voice... and his phlematic breathing.... Yeah, I'm sexy.

I haven't watched ER in years. Might revisit for Clooney...

I just realized I won't be able to listen to the St. Pats. Show... My husbands band is playing all day also. My first commitment is there.

WAH!

Magic mewing at you makes my heart sing!!

May all your dreams be empowering ones.
May your sleep be the sleep of the drugged.
Release all of the ugliness of the day and accept the promise of a new tomorrow.

Thanks for the ER -- I also had lost interest over the past couple of years but my try to watch these last eps online.

I am definitely in the Mandy Patinkin camp. His Che Guevara makes me weak in the knees.

Early to bed tonight Fiends. Q -- I'll email you tomorrow about some Fiendom Come stuff and like that.

I somewhat enjoyed St. Elsewhere but really loved Soap; and Taxi. "LatkaLatkaLatka!" Danny Devito was sooooo funny on that show!

Surely your hub unit isn't playing ALL nine hours that Lorraine and Paul will be on......

Tho no one would question your obligation, truth told.

Really liked what you ended your post with....

And as soon as this show is over, I will be dreaming the sleep of the empowered drugged my ownself.

Ellen's twit handle is TheEllenShow. She posted a picture of her wife - wow.

Got to go to bed. There's another day coming up, I think.

I don't watch TV much right now when I'm brain dead. I pop little bubbles or push around strings of pearls on my desktop for hours on end. I guess it exercises parts of the brain...

Q--I did forget to mention:

EXCELLENT use of italics this post! Made following the action and keeping it all sorted out much easier to follow.

At 22:52 Blogger Adri said...

Wow, ER-- that feels like a blast from the past, though I know it's been running for the past bazillionty years. I just haven't been watching it.

I won't be able to make the St Pat's show because it's at the tail end of the (geek part) of South by Southwest. And I won't be able to go to the Amanda Palmer show at the music part of SxSW because at that point I will already be on my way to San Francisco for my third conference of the season. Boo. But I will be seeing Jonathan Coulton on Sunday, so I can't complain too much

Also, there is a major cat love-in going on in my living room: photo evidence. Baracuda (the grey cat) and Rocky (the bigger bengal) don't usually get along well enough to snuggle, so this is good news!

At 22:52 Blogger Dragonsally said...

And of course Portia is a good Aussie gal!
Magic mews - priceless.
I never did watch ER. Should I be watching some now?
Bones and Supernatural are my crack.

At 22:56 Blogger Ticia said...

I hope you're right Lys. It just depends. If I have to be "sound monkey" (run the soundboard-which I HATE) and be a roadie, I may be there forever.

I hope I'm home in time to hear some of L&P. It was SO much fun last time!

And the strips sound interesting.... I refuse to take pictures though!

I'm glad you liked my good night wish!

Nighty night!

Q-
some very fond memories of TV with you with fireplace and many furry paws climbing about.
the tv serves as a mental off switch, and yes, we both predict the ever-so easy outcomes for many of the plots...
dragonsal--should i watch Supernatural?
sell me, as i am not really taking applications for new shows..but i do have to keep one eye on the TV stuff, to be in the town i am in...but i hear THE COMEDIAN actor was in it. he is tasty kitty nip.
ER not my thing, but would watch on occasion with my little Mom, so do know the players.

Your post was a hoot.
and Danth, want to hear your full review of Swedish Vampires--I know Jouni liked it...our resident Viking.

At 23:56 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I think chances are good you will see AFP down there again, Adri, this lady is going places!

Ah, Kitty, many fond memories here at the Spooky House, can't wait till you come back. I will have my floor and you can curl in the lov sac!

It's not exactly beautiful yet, but I like it for comfort.

Now I am too sleepy to type...

Hooray for Magic. Now he's had time to process his first big outing, suppose he'll be looking to do it again? Mew mew mew!

You sure sound better, Lys.

Oh yes, thanks for the ER update. I watched in early years, but little enough recently that I wasn't aware it was still on. Happy to hear plot summary. I seem to spend my entertainment time catching up on books and fun shows I wanted to watch but didn't during the early parenting years.

Need to write to a friend of whom I dreamt last night, then to sleep again. Cheers, all.

At 01:36 Blogger ariandalen said...

I was born in Texas and have lived here all my life, but I have never been to SXSW. Truthfully? Not sure I want to be in Austin during SXSW. To see AFP this year at SXSW, I would have had to buy a Music Series Pass/Ticket which costs $600+. I suppose it keeps the riffraff out. Granted, that's for the entire week of many, many performances and musicians. I'm also not blaming Amanda Palmer in any way, shape, form or matter.

I've watched ER since almost the beginning. So much to say...maybe too much.

Yes, Ms. Kitty! Jeffrey Dean Morgan has appeared in several episodes as Sam and Dean Winchester's father in "Supernatural." They are demon hunters, though they also dispose of ghosts and other things of an...unusual nature. This season has introduced angels into the mix, 'cause it's all about the coming War Between Heaven and Hell, and the first three seasons had all been showing only one side. Some of it gets REALLY stupid, like the demon Sam Hain or I-35 being a two lane, tree-lined road through Richardson, TX. Other times it's really intense, in a squirm in your seat way. Plus, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are pretty good eye candy. ;)

At 01:43 Blogger ariandalen said...

Oh, yeah, the soundtrack to "Supernatural" rocks!

At 01:43 Blogger Adri said...

Na-- I have no desire to go tot he music part of sxsw. It's all about music discovery and indie bands and, to be honest, these are things that don't interest me much at all. Definitely not $600 and 6 days worth of interest!

SxSW Interactive (aka: Geek Spring Break), on the other hand, is one of my favorite things ever. Tons of design, web, and emerging media tech people in one place? Sharing ideas... and drinks? Oh yes; yes please. (I imagine this is how Music People feel about the music part, too :) )

I'd sure hate to be an Austin local not attending any part of SxSW, though. Eesh. THousands and thousands of extra people crammed into that small downtown? No thank you very much.

I should really be going to sleep, but I just dont feel like it. Anyone else still up?

At 01:59 Blogger spacedlaw said...

Most likely.
Hurray for Magic meewing!

'Morning.
I was watching ER last night, too, but a couple of episodes behind you (Sam's son just got out of a coma....) Glad to hear that there wil be some Carter-age tho'! I don't think we have 11th Hour. Bones is one I haven't seen, becasue it's on too late and my video won't talk to my digibox. That's the one the Stephen Fry sometimes guests in, isn't it?

I've been looking at changing my broadband provider - and maybe getting a TV package because the reception here isn't too good - cable might be better - can anyone explain to me why TV + Broadband would cost £32 a month but TV + Broadband + Phone would only cost £25? This seems strange to me.

Adri, the cats are beautiful (and snuggly)

Swedish VAmpires - I liked the book - don't think the film is out here yet - Dan - let me know whether it's worth going to see it.

So glad it is Friday. I need a weekend. And tonight is Comic Relief" so should be abkle to relax this evening and watch David Tennant and Jonathan Ross etc doing silly things...

At 04:27 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yay!! I'll be able to be around a lot of the day for St Pats, give or take a couple of hours. If I've got it right it starts at 7am our time and finishes at 4pm. Fod that's a long day for you Quiche and Paul(a) :)!!

Supernatural is one of my favs, but I think the best series of all time is Dead Like Me. It has Mandy Patinkin in it, but the main character, Ellen Muth is brilliant. The supporting cast are also fantastic.

It's based on the premise that an 18 yo girl dies through being hit by a piece of space junk (a toilet seat from a space station) and when she dies she becomes a grim reaper.

I'm not sure if it's a television series, we have never got it here, but I stumbled upon the dvd's by accident. They have made 2 series so far, and I'm hanging out for more.

At 04:31 Anonymous Anonymous said...

At 04:34 Blogger Dan Guy said...

I love "Dead Like Me". It by the same guy who went on to create "Wonderfalls" and the recent "Pushing Daisies". (Little known fact: "Pushing Daisies" is actually a spin-off from the planned third season of "Dead Like Me". Ned was going to touch the DLM girl and she would come back to life for the entire season and have to deal with everyone being able to recognize her, then at the end Ned would touch her again and she'd die for good.)

I actually sang (backup in a band) at SXSW in 1991, when it was a fest for bands/performers/film-makers that weren't signed or well-known. It isn't that anymore, which I think is unfortunate. Oh well. Progress, I guess.

Hoping I survive the day (teacher professional development -- no students). Dept. head kinda of wearing me out right now. But I can do this!!

Q, you are MUCH more entertaining than watching ER. Oh yes. Hope you got some good rest and that things are improving everywhere and most specifically with your beloved friends...

"No time", she says, running around frantically stuffing things in the car.

"This was not the plan!", she adds, complaining about the supervisor training scheduled for 9am on Friday.

"No time!"

The training has always been next week.

I did not write the training on my calendar because I am an idiot.

I remembered that there was training at 9am on a Friday I had planned to take off.

There are two Fridays meeting that criterion.

Today is NOT the one with the training.

Now I have given up BOTH my chances for a day off.

Can I start over now please? Say, last week sometime? Dan???

At 08:12 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Siri, I've never seen an episode of ER, either. And, yeah, Chicago Hope FTW!! And I would agree with your Mandy Patinkin *sigh*, as well as Q's comment about Detective Benson. They'd both have to be eating a heck of a lot of crackers to get kicked out of my bed, KWIM ;-)

I guess I'll have to bring my laptop, so I can chat will all the virtually-there fiends while we're sitting listening to Paul and Q. I will gather support for The Unicorn Song, watch me!

Oh, and I must remember the camera! Maybe I can convince Husbeast to bring his DSLR.

Jacquib, Dead Like Me was a series on Showtime, there's only 2 seasons. They just came out with a direct-to-DVD movie, though.

And I'm annoyed that Pushing Daisies has been canceled, it was so good. How come every show I love ends up getting canceled??

Excited to be heading up your way, Q, because both Husbeast and I need a break from school/work, and I can't wait to climb into the tub at the Water Street Inn :-)

Morning all. Awake. Refreshed. Ready to go. Seems to be a lot of going on the agenda for today. Good.

Mistress, I've done that. Get some coffee. Really. It will help.

I will drink tea and wake some more.

I love Dead Like Me. Only have a few more to watch. I think the good shows get canceled as not so many people are smart enough to get them. Kind of like music.

Huge #'s have nothing to do with how good something is, but it's the $$ that get the attention.

Enough thinking on such things first cup of tea.

Good morning. Fifty-sixth! \o/

Spoilers!! Not that I'm getting channels on my TV right now. My converter box coupons arrived, though-- huzzah.

I liked Dr. Green. (Was it Dr. Green? They tall blond guy with the beard, and glasses). They made him dead after a while, didn't they? I don't remember. It's been way too long since I've seen it. Didn't actually know it was still on. :D

Yay for mewing! Glass door seems like a fine idea-- my mom uses a "cat spa" when they go away that's sort of set up like that. Each kitty gets a 5 x 6 room with a climbing tree, a big window, and screens in between so all the cats can watch each other. This is regular housecats, of course, rather than F1 bengals.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day! Me, I need more coffee.

At 09:49 Blogger Phiala said...

Louisa, that's awful! Sounds like nobody was hurt, at least.

At 09:49 Blogger TommyB said...

Ah- Dead Like Me! Love that show- we have been using the wonderful/evil new capability on the Tivo to stream it from Netflix. Canceled too soon- but they did just put out a direct-to-dvd movie with most of the original cast. Reviews are mixed, but I'll give it a shot.

You know something is seriously upside-down in the world when a show about grim reapers is your happy pill of choice after watching the news.

At 09:50 Blogger Jess said...

At 09:54 Blogger louisa said...

An ambulance left the scene escorted by a police car but I haven't heard of any casualties. One of my customers works opposite and one of his colleagues was near a window that blew out but she wasn't injured.

At 09:59 Blogger Dan Guy said...

So many awesome shows get canceled. "My So-Called Life", "Dead Like Me", "Firefly", "Wonderfalls", "Pushing Daisies"...

And then there's "John From Cincinnati". The first time I saw it I knew it was too brilliant to ever survive. No one would expect the creator of "Deadwood" to create a show with such dense, layered religious imagery, dream logic, and psychological theory. It's like the "Ulysses" of television. John would say seemingly nonsense phrases that, when properly unpacked, yielded multi-level observations. I was in awe. The final episode was a brilliant culmination of everything that had happened up to that point. I really wanted to see what would happen next...

At 09:59 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Jess, no worries, one does not watch ER for the PLOT. Same every week. And it was a show that should have been over years ago, the last few have been un-watchable.

Tivo is the best, you can watch whatever you want, when ever, with no commercials.

Louise, not so Fun, glad no one was hurt.

And another thing, JfC was about profoundly damaged people finding peace and healing. How many shows do that (well -- "Ghost Whisperer" totally doesn't count)? Arggghhh. Such a travesty that it was canceled.

Here is my Horroscope for today. Hmmph. I have a HUGE formal private party to play tonight. Do I get someone else to play it? WHo?

Today is not the time for you to be on center stage, doing your thing. Rather, it's a better time for you to sit in the audience. See someone else's talents, and you will be amazed at what has been under your nose for so long!

At 10:28 Blogger Ticia said...

Louisa that's awful. Keep us posted on the pets and people please.

Q- ignore your horoscope! I would assume they have seen your show, and hired you based on that-it's what they WANT. Don't change a thing!

At 10:57 Blogger Na said...

Wow, Louisa, that's amazing. I mean both to see a house in that shape AND to read that apparently no one was seriously injured. Hope that holds.

Re: Austin and SxSW (or the ACL Fest or Longhorns games) - yeah, you plan your time around NOT going downtown at all, not having anyone visit who might want a hotel room, and you avoid flying anywhere. During SxSW, we usually avoid restaurants, too, but then we lived central.

Re: horoscopes - have you ever heard Mary Chapin-Carpenter's "I Feel Lucky", Q? The character feels lucky and appears to be very lucky, despite quite blatant portents of doom. :)

At 11:00 Blogger Ticia said...

Marjorie- The writers strike happened right when Pushing Dausies was gaining momentum. And, they got recognition at the awards ceremonies before it started up again.

I think they felt they had to rehash it for the new viewers and viewers with short attention spans.

The break really hurt the show.

At 11:00 Blogger TommyB said...

Louisa- we had an epidemic of exploding houses in the Twin Cities recently due to people breaking in to abandoned homes and stealing copper pipes (also lots of water/ice damage)- is that kind of thing possibly happening here too? At least it would increase the chanced no one was there, which would be a good thing.

At 11:09 Blogger louisa said...

Just out at the bank - still loads of cops about directing traffic as the road's all closed off. I'm guessing making gas mains safe after an explosion is a tricky business. The houses are very much lived in so I doubt it was from vandals stealing Tommy. I heard the boiler landed on a major road the other side of the block! Truly miraculous no-one was hurt (haven't heard anything about pets).

At 11:11 Blogger Dan Guy said...

I found the applicable interview with Bryan Fuller! See below:

----------------------------------
Me: What was the genesis of Pushing Daisies?

Bryan: It was originally going to be a spin off of Dead Like Me. The second season arc was going to play like this: George was going to find out that somebody was swiping her souls and she wasn't able to stop them. Then she would discover that there was a guy who was touching dead people and bringing them back to life, and she would have a kind of adversarial/romantic relationship with him. Then he would touch her and she would come back to life and she would actually go back to her family for an arc of episodes. Eventually George would realize that she had left her job and that she needed to go back and be responsible; that she needed to grow up and do what she was supposed to do. The guy would then touch her again and she would go back to being a grim reaper -- and he would go off and have his own show. That was the original concept.

Fuller also said that, while doing Pushing Daisies, he planned to have all of the cast members from Dead Like Me and Wonderfalls guest star over the course of the show.

As it was, only the Muffin episode had a cross-over.

That's interesting - because we tendto get things with a delay i hadn't thought about the writiers strike - and hadn't seen/heard of 'dead like me'. Makes more sense with the background info.

And yes, re-hash for the short-of -attention-span is not going to help anything!

My brother just messaged me about a show called "King" that's coming on NBC, an alt-history story in which America has a King, played by Ian McShane. That sounds promising. And I'll watch anything that has him in it.

At 11:49 Blogger EmilyLady said...

Hmm. I've never watched "ER". I think I've had too much Fun Time in the real ER.

Happy news of Magic's mews! I love hearing about him. Do you know for how much longer you'll have him?

At 11:51 Blogger Dan Guy said...

I'm hoping for good things from "Kings". (Hey, that rhymed.)

The first ad I saw had Ian McShane offering the blond teen, presumably his son, "anything, even half my kingdom". The same words were used, and offer made, by King Herod to the dancing girl, which ended with John the Baptist being beheaded. (Her mother told her to ask for his head on a silver platter.)

So I'm going to take that as ominous foreshadowing.

At 12:07 Blogger Na said...

Ominous foreshadowing as well as a harbinger of good things, like maybe the writers are Thinking, sounds like!

At 12:11 Blogger Ticia said...

That series looks like fun. I love Ian McShane.

At 12:19 Blogger Jane said...

DH and I loved Dead Like Me, then followed Bryan Fuller to Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies.

Dan, thanks for the info on the planned genesis pf PD. V interesting.

How about Brimstone? Are DH and i the only 2 people who watched?

Tell you what, Quiche--you can have MY horoscope for today and I'll take yours. Seems to be some conflict in it, especially atht he very end, but...from dailyscopes.com:

"You will want to achieve something amazing. Period when you will be in top physical shape. You will be enthusiastic, frank, sincere, upright.

You will be very attracted by a member of the opposite sex. Your loving feelings are wide awake.

You will be in good health and have lots of vitality. Good time to settle all your present problems. A period when you will take your responsibilities to heart: you will be devoted to duty, but this will be difficult to bear.

You will be on top form, really healthy, in good spirits. You will feel on top form, like a teenager. This is a good time for all intellectual work.

You will want to listen to music, you will appreciate beautiful things, paintings, everything that is harmonious, elegant, aesthetic even more than before. Good time for love affairs: you will be in great form, and look {handsome|beautiful}.

You will have a lot of vitality and be bursting with energy. You will be in perfect control of yourself.

Everything depends on the position of Saturn in the birth chart.

Be careful in love. You will quickly get annoyed, and easily provoked, you will become impatient very quickly. There will certainly be big changes in your life, which are not particularly desirable and will be sudden.

You will be disturbed, upset, troubled and tormented. Major stirring of self-consciousness. You will live beyond your means."

Cor. Andrea's going to have a Really Big Day!

Blogger has been weird with me, too. I posted (twice) some commiseration for Sarah but it never went. Hm.

At 12:45 Blogger Ticia said...

Thanks for reminding me Andrea!

Lorraine, I am already incapacitated today (sick in bed again. Contemplating antibiotics) We share the same horoscope. I'll make sure to follow it to the letter and distract the fods while you perform.

My attention, focused on you (as per the horoscope), should confuse them enough to allow you to perform to your usual high standard.

No putting baby in the corner!!

At 12:56 Blogger Na said...

Yikes. My horoscope there was more of a horrorscope.

Want to wish you lovely peeps a lovely weekend. I'm planning to log off the computer for about 48 hours, to spend time with family and get some Stuff done and probably travel a bit. Feels surprisingly strange to contemplate the offline bit. :)

(The week ate my brains. It was a zombie week and I never realize it.)

At 13:17 Blogger Fluffy said...

Every week is a zombie week! That's why we don't remember last week was a zombie week.

Okay, not really. Got to go get ready to drop the offspring off for a weekend retreat at the Texas-Oklahoma Jewish kids camp. She can hang out with all her Jewy, Jewy friends. I'm trying to decide if I should confiscate the camcorder she has apparently secreted in her bag. Oh, and look for the laptop, too.

At 13:18 Blogger Marjorie said...

Have fun Na!

At 13:57 Blogger mistressmousey said...

Wow. I don't think I've watched TV since, like, season 2 of ER. Surprised to see it's still around.

Yay Magic! I love kitty mews. :D

At 16:00 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Thanks Andrea! I'll take it. Not sure about the bit of "being attracted to a member of the opposite sex" tho, you mean, like GUYS???

(I know some of you are with men, and I am not dissing that. I understand it is not a choice, and you were born that way, you can't help it, and that no matter your personal preferences, you are welcome here.)

(I slay myself)

I am so behind trying to finish work and get off to my formal private party gig. Sure hope they know who they have hired for dinner music...

Blog when I get home!

At 16:02 Blogger Marjorie said...

::giggle:: Hope it's a good gig, despite the discouraging horoscope.

Consenting human adults. Other than that, it's no one's business.

I am going to rock. I look nice, in my CLEAN black sweater, black pants and my wonderful B'day necklace from AFP and her most awesome assistant Beth.

make up even, tho half of it fell out as I was leaving and I am a couple of pots shy of a full face. Ah well. Rock covers a multitude of lack of cosmetics.

I am going for Posh tonight.

Will Tweet.

At 16:18 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Of course Danguy. We need to keep you here.

Where we can keep an eye on you.

At 16:19 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I have to go before I slip completely into "Fods, it is nice on this floor."

At 16:21 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Marjorie, I share! Or at this point I should say I am shared, because I don't think Husbeast's school counts. My sweetie's other sweeties, do, though ;-)

And, of course, all of us are informed consenting adults. It's the only way to fly!

And, Dan, IMO, as long as you're happy with your choice, rock on. Attraction isn't a choice but actions are :-)

At 16:37 Blogger AletaMay said...

Rock on Q!

Gosh I am lost in too many things to do and think about today. Not feeling able to give proper attention to any of 'em.

People should love who they love, keep the agreements they make with those they love and allow others to life the lives they choose to live.

I think it is time for me to go outside and hope that fresh air might help me get back on task for the day!

At 16:43 Blogger Phiala said...

Ah.... I escaped from work at lunchtime, and have now made it successfully to Undisclosed Location, where I will be spending the evening relaxing, working on tomorrow's class, and being blissfully alone.

Consenting adults of whatever variety or quantity, sometimes you NEED alone time.

Unfortunately the free wireless internet does not extend to my room, so there will not be much Fiending either. That's okay too, honestly. But just for the weekend. :)

I put all my JoCo on the mp3 player, and turned it on when I pulled out of the driveway. 300 miles later, I've only made it to "O". Prolific, he is.

At 18:29 Blogger Stardustgirl said...

Quiche, you need to take your own advice about airlines and apply it to horoscopes. If the first one doesn't seem friendly or helpful, remember that Fluffy's in the microwave and find a nicer one. :-) You have the power!

In case I missed thanking any Fiends bearing b-day wishes over on Facebook (which is everchanging and tech-challenged today) I'll say thanks here too. Blogger at least stays in place. Usually. I'd see something over there and it had skittered off before I could reply. Upgrade, schmupgrade.

Yes, I'm a genuine, accept no substitutes, owner of a true Friday The Thirteenth birthday (or firbday, as you wish). As Dan said earlier: wahaahaaaa!!!

Rock those dinner guests! If it's a business thing they'll probably be grateful for a fun band.

At 18:54 Blogger Phiala said...

Happy birthday Maureen!

Friday the 13th. :)

It is incredible that no-one was injured in that gas explosion Louisa. It really shakes you up when something like that happens in your neighborhood.
Jacq, I'm sure Dead Like Me was shown here. On the ABC? Or am I thinking of something else?
I love Pushing Daisies, its a fun show.
Off to catch up with rest of comments.

"Attraction isn't a choice but actions are" Toni, that is brilliant!
Maureen - happy Firbday. How did I not see that on FB? Distraction of new home page maybe.

Quiche, I am wondering how you are feeling under dressed in your elegant outfit? Odd when FB and Twittwer cross over here.

Happy Birthday Maureen :)

Dan, I Haven't seen that movie, but I want to hear what you think of it.

How's this rain Sal? We now have puddles!!!!!

I went for a run this morning and got bitten by a snake. Well, my shoe did, about 1/8th of an inch from my leg. Stoopid snake. I hope it broke its stupid, long, pointy, snakey teeth!

At 22:23 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Holy hell, how lucky were you Jacq that the snake got your shoe and not you. What was it? And what the hell was a snake doing out in this wonderful rain

At 22:45 Blogger Ticia said...

Jacqui! That is so scary. Aren't all of the snakes in Australia venomous?

I'm so glad it bit your shoe. ((hugs))

At 23:21 Blogger Fluffy said...

Yep, just remember, when anything goes wrong, Fluffy's in the microwave so you can choose a nicer outcome!

Did our Q. get stiffed on her paycheck tonight? Damn. Back in the effin oven. See ya later, guys.

At 23:46 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Yep. Home now. Might be writing a post. maybe.

At 00:11 Blogger Ticia said...

Welcome home! Did you have fun?

At 00:15 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Not much fun, but there is a new post up..........

At 00:38 Anonymous Anonymous said...

I was lucky with the snake.

I was on the path, but I forgot to stay in the middle. It leapt out of the grass and got me as I was running, so it was pretty aggressive. It disappeared so quickly, by the time it had reached my brain that something out of the ordinary had occurred, it was gone.

Because it was so aggressive I think it would have been a tiger snake, there are quite a few of them in the parks around here.

I was also lucky, because it's a fairly isolated spot at that hour of the morning, and I was a fair way from the car.

At 00:43 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Holy shit Jacqui, that had to be a Tiger, nothing else attacks like that.
Thank Fods it didn't get you.
