T-shirt Help!

Right. No time like the present, and little enough of that.

Tomorrow is St Patricks Day (If I haven't mentioned that) and we are doing an available online shirt at our little shop, (whose URL escapes me) , to commemorate this Online Streaming Gig Paul and I are doing. (3-Mindnight! Details here tomorrow pre show)

All shirts are at cost plus $5 to Great Lakes Bengal Rescue. Myself, the Band and anyone else affiliated take no monies from this. You simply order the shirt, and it comes to you, profit to GLBR. Very easy.

All shirts are glow in the dark.

Now the thing is, Lysandwr needs to get these up in the shop tonight, but we can come up with NOTHING clever to say on it.

Ideas. Now and quickly.

Could be something Fiendish, or Irish, or WHATEVER.

Shirts can come in a variety of colours, so don't worry about that, we just need something to PUT on them.

There were some pretty cool ideas on the last posts comments, so re-comment them too please!

In other news, not long till that Boss of mine appears on the Colbert Report! I'll be here watching ALONE and partying ONLINE. (for those 6 non-Twitterpated folk I had said I was having a party, I meant here, but started getting calls and letters. HANS was getting calls asking if HE was going to my party.)

Reports say they had a LOT of fun, and everyone is really happy, and has nothing to say but wonderful things about Steve Colbert, and his entire staff and crew, who showed much love to Boss. Who seems happy himself.

Now help me out on these shirts! Lys and I will listen and pick one by midnight.

Love and T-shirts,
Lorraine

Okay, great minds!! Below is what I posted to your previous thread. And then saw that, while I was typing, you had put up a whole new Blog Post!

hehe:

St. Pat's t shirt thoughts:

How about white shirt w/sparkly green letters? I think the letters are slick, which would mean you could then dye the shirt (tie or otherwise) whatever however you wanted.

But we can do options in green as well. Light green, dark purple? Only limitation--how well will ink colour show up (or glow) on t shirt colour.

My suggestion is that every shirt has basic info about the show (Paul and Lorraine, Date, Charlies) with a first line "pow"

Such as "How Green is your Quiche"....but she might be, well, turning a little...ahem...over that one. :)

This set up is tres flexible--I'll do anything Q approves of to sell shirts for the Bengals!!

At 19:42 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Hmmmm.

I did like "How Green is Your Quiche", which was suggested last post.

And I did know you were being silly about the party, which is why I said we'd stop to get the tuna and mangos. I'm getting in the tub shortly, and after that wild horses couldn't get me out of here!

At 19:44 Blogger Zoe said...

Shirt suggestion:
Kiss me, I'm drunk.

And that's all I've got.

At 19:45 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh, hey....and "First!" for only, like, the second time.

Though it was unintentional. Just that great timing :)

and should it be

How Green Was My Quiche

??? Or is that just overdoing it?

At 19:46 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Zoe...

I've always gotten a kick out of
"Drunk me, I'm kiss!" but that is probably past it's prime now :)

I'll have a green beer with a side of spicy brains.

Even Fiends are Wearin' the Green.

Er, off to think more. Maybe a martini would help the process.

I don't know, I always liked that "Fiends for Quiche" thing we thought up when you were running for president.

I can't wait to see the Boss on Colbert Report! Well, in truth, I can wait; I will watch online first thing in the morning, as I'm on the East coast need my sleep.

If I fall asleep before Colbert, I need a Fiend to slap me. Hard.

Please do not yell at me for quality issues:

And a wearin' o' the greenish

At 20:02 Blogger Jess said...

I vote Cat, Dog, Beer, Laptop seeing as I can't think of anything else.

Waah, I don't have cable. Must wait till tomorrow for Bombadilly thrills. It's like coming to the party but not touching the pretzels. But sounds fun! Glad it went well. :)

At 20:03 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

The one thing I would say is it doesn't have to be a Paul and Lorraine thing, at some point we ARE going to do a P&L shirt, and makes gobs of $$ for us, but this is a Fiend thing, for us, those who watch, or read here...

Just for fun, and to give a little trickle to the homeless Bengals.

Paul and I talked about it today, and is completely cool with anything we do.

At 20:03 Blogger Dragonsally said...

I rather like Fluffy's motto too...we can haz more than one on a shirt, yes?

I'm no help. Maybe the Colbert Report will be inspirational...

I'm thinking that I won't be here for the party - I'll watch the show and read the reports tomorrow. If I'm to be up until midnight tomorrow, I need my sleep tonight.

What was Himself thinking, to make Fiends stay up 2 nights in a row. Doesn't he check your social calendar, Lo?

At 20:26 Blogger Fluffy said...

Er, that last one wasn't a t-shirt submission. I realized it's a bit kinky if you look at it that way.

At 20:26 Blogger Siri said...

But is it something we can wear outside our homes, at least those of us who don't want to attract the wrong kind of attention?

At 20:27 Blogger Siri said...

Just call me wet blanket...

At 20:30 Blogger Fluffy said...

But Siri, you're Fiendish!

No, really. I didn't think about PG/PG13/R since the shirt I bought was a nightshirt.

Maybe we could have a couple of options? Is that too much, Lys?

At 20:31 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Siri - vacation is fabulous - I'm not blogging it publically till I'm home, but I am on LJ and I'll post those on the blog once we're home. Tomorrow is Dreamhaven books and of course Paul and Lorraine!

OK, time for the whirlpool tub!

At 20:35 Blogger Siri said...

(pst -- what excatly is LJ, other than Live Journal.....) (Is it another word for twittering??? Is this a trap???)

At 20:35 Blogger Siri said...

And, Oh....Fluffy....Night shirts....I didn't consider that.

At 20:36 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Whatever Q approves, as long as we don't dilute the energy as it were!

At 20:37 Blogger AletaMay said...

Siri are you suggesting "Just call me wet blanket..." for a shirt, because I kinda like that. Hee.

I like:

"Fiends Do It With Feathersticks
St Patrick's Day 2009"

"Come for the Nine Hours of music, Stay for the Quiche"

"St. Patrick's Day, 2009 - I Kissed a Fiend and I Liked It!"

And I have this idea that I can't quite see clearly yet but it has. It seem like it would be better with a graphic and we are only doing word. But. It would be something like this: Universal NO symbol over the Unicorn Song and below that "I've got my fingers in my ears I'm saying la la la la la la" and then "St. Patrick's Day 2009"

At 20:40 Blogger Siri said...

OK - AletaMay has my vote - the last one. That song is my theme song at work right now, because of the horrific projects we have. I play it at least once a week.

I'd pay money for a shirt like that.

(OK, so I'd pay money for any of these shirts, but I'm just sayin')

At 20:40 Blogger AletaMay said...

It seems that I stuck some extra words and punctuation in that last paragraph above. Hope it makes some sorta sense anyway!

At 20:41 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Fods! It was at 16 when I went to clean for the Royals and now 40???

Kind of like "Fiends do it with Feathersticks, but there should be a couple of options, I agree.

Kiss me I'm Fiendish is good, lot of good ones, keep coming, we have till midnight.

Now I am going to clean the Floor Room, so I can take a pic of it for you.

At 20:42 Blogger Jane said...

I like "I'll stop if it's getting too painful" on a T-shirt. How many people really read T-shirts? They just glance and go on. *we* may read them, though.

I have a coffee cup at work with rabbits and people are like ooh how cute and they never really see what the rabbits are actually doing.

Sally, so sorry for your problems. Hope things get better.

At 20:42 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Keep going!!!!!!!!!!

At 20:47 Blogger AletaMay said...

And of course that should be "going la la la la la la la la la la" not "saying". Right?

How about something with "Luck of the Fiendish"??

At 20:52 Blogger Lyndyn said...

Hmmm...I shall ponder.

At 20:52 Blogger Stacy Hurt said...

Hi, fiends. It's been a while.

At 21:05 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Siri--could you clarify what exactly you were referring to?

Aleta--cannot easily combine graphics w/ text. To include the Int NO sign you want, I'd have to do the whole thing as a graphic. No sparkly text, no glow in the dark....plus some other aesthetic issues.

At 21:07 Blogger Stacy Hurt said...

Hi El! Welcome home!

At 21:09 Anonymous Anonymous said...

oooohh! oooohh!

El just gave a terrible idea:

"More Quiche than you can Shake a Featherstick At! Nine Hours of Music Streaming Live St Pat's 2009"

et cetera

At 21:10 Blogger Siri said...

Lys - this is to what I referred:
Universal NO symbol over the Unicorn Song and below that "I've got my fingers in my ears I'm going la la la la la la" and then "St. Patrick's Day 2009

But, you said you can't do the symbol, so how about:

NOT THE UNICORN SONG!! - I've got my fingers in my ears, I'm going la la la la la la
St. Patrick's Day 2009

At 21:10 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Siri, you were right, I was referring to LJ. Same username over there as here.

Yeah, I figured the "NO" Symbol would not work. How about < /Unicorn Song > -- Okay I'll stop. Let that one go, Aleta!

I like the idea of one of the more sorta suggestive ones and something like "More Quiche than you can Shake a Featherstick At! Nine Hours of Music Streaming Live St Pat's 2009". Two choices. Wee.

I still can't think of a good tee shirt slogan. Except maybe a black one which says HOw do you know I'm not wearing green on it, perhaps in black letters. I suspect it's because I'm tired that the idea amuses me. It's really not that good.

How about I'd say kiss me, only I don't know where you've been?

I'm up. Kind of.

At 00:17 Blogger Kitty Cat said...

i missed deadline because i am slow,
but i like
DRINK TIL HE"S CUTE.

is that wrong?

At 00:24 Blogger Fluffy said...

I'm up. In a semi-sideways sort of fashion.

I made "Erin Go Aaargh!" into a flair. Which you probably already know. Sorry. I know making all that flair isn't, well... healthy. I think it's the creative leakage from someone who trained as an artist but didn't do it for a living.

I need to stay up a little more since the Dr. (mine, not The Wicked One,) decided I needed a second martini. I need to shake it off before I go to sleep (no headache that way.)

What fun!

At 00:26 Blogger Fluffy said...

'Drink til he's cute' may be wrong, but... well, I like it (she ended lamely.)

At 00:54 Blogger Dragonsally said...

The interview is up on youtube

At 01:04 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Okay. Now I've watched the interview, I can say your Boss is amazing Quiche.
I knew that before maybe what I mean is he never ceases to amaze me!

At 01:19 Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think I'm leaning towards
"Erin Go AAARGH!" and "Kiss me I'm Fiendish."

So many good ideas!

Now to watch Boss' interview.

At 01:21 Blogger spacedlaw said...

Good heavens! 145 comments! I am SO not reading...
Sorry fiends.

At 01:29 Blogger Fluffy said...

Aargh, indeed. I'm off to bed. What a fun night.

At 01:37 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Oh that was brilliant! Boss was rather marvelously unflappable.
You know you're good when you can make Stephen Colbert laugh out loud.

Bed soon, methinks.

At 02:42 Blogger Marjorie said...

Ticky box. lots of nice t-shirt ideas

At 03:54 Blogger Marjorie said...

Happy St Patrick's Day!

And thankyou Sally for the youtube link - I watched the interview this morning (just had time before leaving for work!) - great fun. Although seems wierd seeing Boss in a white shirt!

Listeneing to the radio on the way to work they played There's no-one as Irish as Barack Obama I hadn't heared this before...

At 05:36 Blogger louisa said...

Beannachtai na Féile Pádraig Fiends!! Breaking with tradition, it's a beautiful day here in Dublintown, where's the bitter cold and torrential rain I remember from my youth??? I've a few random pics up from last year.

Have shirt slogans been decided on? If not, might I humbly beg and plead a spellcheck that "Éireann" is used and not "Erin" if "Erin Go Aaargh..." selected?

Boss did good on Colbert! Fair play to him for more than holding his own.

Right, off to enjoy the day!

At 05:43 Blogger spacedlaw said...

And shouldn't it be "Éireann goes Aaargh"?

Nice picture Louisa. It wasn't raining on that day too (or at least not all the time).

At 06:21 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Madam,
A Fab fashion choice, I must say! YEAH BOSS! He is just awesome. There I said it. I am late for voting but I like Drink Til He's Cute and Kiss Me, I'm Fiendish"

At 06:25 Blogger Phiala said...

That was a most excellent interview. Even if Boss does look odd in a white shirt (but he matched Colbert, so it must be okay).

"Dog, Cat, Beer, Laptop" - really??? :)

At 06:38 Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think that we are just unacustomed to seeing Boss out of his usual all black attire. He pulled it off quite well, I feel :)

At 07:36 Blogger ivenotime said...

good morning all and happy st. pat's an unusually warm day here, and a bit of sunshine - usually st. paddy's day is cold and dreary. alas, not much happens here, today i miss sweet home chicago the most. rock on Lorraine, hope your day goes splendidly, i will be thinking of you all while i am toiling away :) ...and i do like erin go aaaarrrrgggghhhh....

At 07:56 Blogger Na said...

158th! And ?!?! Holy Cow. Remember back in days of yore, when 50 comments seemed like a lot? Spaeking of comments, time to read. I'll have to watch Colbert later this morning, did find where to watch it.

At 07:57 Blogger Na said...

And Happy St. Patrick's Day, to one and all.

At 08:23 Blogger dabbler said...

Well, that took some catching up!

I love Éireann go Aaarghhh!
But late vote, for sure!

Louisa, what fabulous parade stuff. But why so many insects?

Off to work...hope to catch Colbert on tonight's rebroadcast. Both my kids said they'd never seen Colbert be nicer.

At 08:27 Blogger Na said...

It's like coming to the party but not touching the pretzels. LOL

And Gayle's wee poem. Excellent.

wittymom, welcome!

Fluffy - do I understand correctly that you're twitting?

Cat, Dog, Beer, Laptop, yes!

Up early today. Time to wake monsters with evil laughs, get them off to school. Back to check links and watch Colbert later.

Sláinte Mhaith.

At 08:31 Blogger dabbler said...

AH... and top o' the morning to ye all on the festive occasion of the good St. Patrick!

Anybody ever read Robert Munsch's kids book "Giant or Waiting for the Tuesday Boat?" Features the last giant in Ireland throwing church bells out of belfrys to get St. Patrick to come back from heaven and fight.

I see it is sadly out of print. For a long time it was one of the touchstone books in my collection...if I had someone read it, and they loved it, I knew we saw the world in similar ways. Suffice it to say, God turns out to be a smallish girl/woman of color.

At 08:38 Blogger Jess said...

Goooooood morning. Hee hee, great interview! Nice suit! And he's right, you know: Tom Bombadil can piss off, and so can Goldberry, for that matter.

Drink till he's cute is fantastic.

I also like Erin Go Aaargh so long as it's spelled "Erin," and has a picture of Erin on it going Aaargh. And then she has to buy it and post a picture of herself wearing it.

At 08:38 Blogger Erin Underwood said...

I'm always a day late and $10 short. But Boss was brilliant! I laughed and laughed and laughed. What a great interview.

At 08:41 Blogger Erin Underwood said...

OMG! Erin Go Aaargh

Maybe I'm biased, but I love it! I would buy it and wear it until it fell apart and then I'd buy another one. :-)

AAARGH!

At 08:45 Blogger Jess said...

Erin - Ha ha! Yes! :D

Na - It's too late. I've touched the pretzels. They were good pretzels.

At 08:52 Blogger Marjorie said...

To de-rail the conversation a little, have you seen this?
When I first read it I thought it was a PetFail but don't think the snake was a pet.

At 08:56 Blogger ariandalen said...

Geez! A fiend goes off into the regular world for a few hours and you come back to 170 +/- comments. ;)
::sigh:: I have yet to watch The Colbert Report. Thanks to Dabbler (?), I can watch this morning. :)

Can't wait to see the selection of t-shirts! And yes, I have read all the comments since I last posted.

At 09:02 Blogger dabbler said...

Not me, ariandalen...someone else posted the link. But I plan to use it....

At 09:05 Blogger Lyndyn said...

Is it really possible to NOT read all the comments? Oh...wait...maybe not everyone is as nuts as I am.

Hey, what is the protocol for wandering around in here anyway? Should I be submitting an introduction of some sort? resume? 3 references from community leaders?

At 09:11 Blogger Erin Underwood said...

When can I buy my Quichirt?

:-D

At 09:22 Blogger bengalgirl said...

Finally after a day of thinking and much after the deadline I came up with Blarney and Bengals. Not only late but not very creative. Oh well, back to scooping litterboxes.

At 09:25 Blogger Jess said...

Lyndyn - No protocol that I know of other than Be Friendly. Me, I just show up and yammer like a yammering thing. So far, no one's sent me away. :D

Where were you in Pittsburgh? I'm east side.

I keep up with the comments, too. Most of the time. Sometimes I give up when I'm tired. Where do I find the time? Best we not ask that question.

At 09:30 Blogger EmilyLady said...

So I made it to watch Colbert. I did have to sleep in, but I made it! And laughed until I practically choked. Benjamin was like, "Silas is a vampire AUGH, I didn't know that! I thought he was a ghost or something!" I gave him a look like, "WHAT?!"

I haven't finished reading the book to him yet.

At 09:40 Blogger gaypet said...

Morning.

Coffee.

At 09:52 Blogger vampi said...

quiche, your boss is awesome!

i totally fell asleep last night right before the interview :(

so i woke up early so i could watch it and it's hilarious.

I'd read "f^*k it we're all gonna die", totally.

i must say the way himself said "excellent rabbit pie" was a little scary.

At 09:57 Blogger ariandalen said...

Hi, Zoe and Wittymom! There's no more hiding in the shadows for you! Find yourself a nice, white long-sleeved jacket with buckles; size isn't a problem.

::SSSSSSNNNNNNIIIIIIIFFFFFFFFFFFFFF::

Oh, yeah! Spicy!

At 10:33 Blogger ariandalen said...

No introductions needed, Lyndyn. If you have a profile linked somewhere, I've read it. Not that it matters. ;) The number of commenters has exploded in the past 9 months to a year. To find the origins of Fod and Fiends you need to go to the earlier version of the blog: to July 1, 2008 (or there abouts) for the first use of Fod, and sometime in August 2008 for the first use of Fiend. "Fod" was originally a typo for "God" in a comment from Ms. Marvelous aka Malena, and "fiend" was a typo for "friend" from Ms. Fabulous. The Night Garden Project grew from Rubius discussing her gnome in her new yew in her rooftop garden and many of us encouraging Ms. Fabulous to publish her stories here. That was in late August/early September 2008. You can find those works under "Writing" on this Fabulous website. Submissions are welcomed from all. :)

I think I've rambled on long enough for now. ;)

At 10:38 Blogger Fluffy said...

Yes, Ms. Renata, I'm one of those Twittery types. My "handle" there is FluffyinTexas since some horrible Twit stole Fluffy before I had a chance at it.

Re-watched the Colbert segment, and I think that's the first time I've seen Mr. G smile with teeth showing. Generally he just grins. My favorite part was when he suggested those "others" from other dimensions who were always watching Mr. C were "on the other side of a large, flat screen." Haha!

Got to go walk today before it gets hot. I feel good for someone who got less than the recommended 7.5 hours of sleep. Not to mention more than the recommended daily allowance of chocolatey vodka drinks.

At 10:42 Blogger Arwenn said...

There's a recommended daily allowance of chocolatey vodka drinks?

I have SO been reading the wrong chart!!

At 10:45 Blogger spacedlaw said...

Very thorough summary, Ariandalen. Except you forgot to sniff Lyndin's spicy brain...

At 10:46 Blogger Na said...

Marjorie, I thank you for:

"O'Leary, O'Reilly, O'Hare and O'Hara!
There's no one as Irish as Barack O'Bama!!"
I'm listening to another version, here, learning the tune, I am.

And that olive python. Sad for the terrier. That's exactly why an African rock python would be a poor pet to have around, unless of course you'd like to off the rest of your pets. Oh dear.

At 10:46 Blogger louisa said...

Popping by momentarily to say I love "Erin go Aaargh" with a picture of Erin!! And without going into the half translation and conotations, technically yes Nat, it should be "Éireann GOES Aaargh"; it's a linguistic pickle! It was dry last year though definitely not the year before - one of my fave pics from that year is of Hari Krishnas dancing in the rain, festooned with shamrocks.

I know not why the insects, Dabbler. There's a theme for the parade every year so I'm guessing they were in some way relevant. Or maybe there are just *a lot* of arthropod enthusiasts in Dublin.

Hi Lyndyn ::waves:: plus all you other recently delurked fiends that I just can't keep up with!

Now off to investigate this RDA of chocolatey vodka drinks....

At 10:49 Blogger Na said...

Arwenn, that's funny, too. ::snort::

Lyndyn, Fiends are as Fiends do. Just hang in and enjoy.

And ariandalen, I believe you are of two minds, at least - with the sniffing of brains and then the nice summaries. ;)

Off to find Fluffy on Twitter, and then Colbert...

At 10:50 Blogger Marjorie said...

Yes, I loved the suggestion of the "others" watching from some kind of TV screen...

Incidently, I may vanish from sight anytime now - I am in the process of changing my internet provider at home and judging by the performace so far, would not be at all surprised to find I am disconnected at random...

What I have learnt so far today:

(i) Just because it offers you three different wys of contacting them, on their homepage, hsould not be taken to mean that you can actually contact hem using those methods
(ii) Just because it says something in the terms and conditions doesn't mean that that is correct
(iii) just becasue they say one thigng on the telephone, doesn't bmean you will not get an e-mail 5 minutes later saying the exact opposite.

So,if you don't hear from me at the gig tonight, do please direct any random curses or maledictions you have lying around in the general direction of TiscaliUK!

(I shall still be able to comment and twitter from work, so I've got about an hour left either way...)

At 10:51 Blogger ariandalen said...

Nathalie, I sniffed her lovely spicy brains days ago when she first delurked. ;) She wouldn't know it from my blogger or LJ profiles, but we might just have an abnormality in common; at least in the same area.

At 10:53 Blogger Marjorie said...

'We might just have an abnormality in common'

Surely THAT is the T-Shirt the world has been waiting for?

At 11:05 Blogger ariandalen said...

And Na, I'm not even a Gemini! ;)

At 11:08 Blogger louisa said...

oh and forgot to say that the lovely Mr Izzard (the *real* one this time) is now Twittering (sorry The Six, don't mean to be excluding) http://twitter.com/eddieizzard

'We might just have an abnormality in common'
That sounds like a BRILLIANT T-shirt. Not necessarily for St Pat, but brilliant.

At 11:18 Blogger ariandalen said...

::singing::

"F - A - B - U - L -
O-U-S spells FABULOUS!
Proud of all the Fiendish blood that's in me,
Divil a man can say a word agin' me!

F - A - B - U - L -
O-U-S you see
Is a name that a shame
Never has been connected with!
FABULOUS, that's me!
(Kiss me, I'm Fiendish!)
FABULOUS! That's me!"

I'm pretty sure I'm missing a verse in the middle, but I don't remember it. ::sigh::
