In Which We See More Photos By Mr Kyle Cassidy!! This Makes Us Happy...

And yet more photos by the magic Mr Kyle Cassidy! I have a lot of the Boss and Miss AFP walking thru the woods with the dog, but Boss points out that with his dark glasses and the leash, he looks like a blind person. But these are lovely. And he doesn't look at all blind.

That kitty he is holding is Zoe, who is in fact blind, and the two old ladies on the bottom are Pod and Hermoinie. They are 17 now, and kind of creak when they move about. Hermoinie is deaf now, but they still love scritches and cuddles.

Love and Photos,
Lorraine

Hey! Got back from early-morning meeting at just the right time to see more lovely photos. And happy old cats (my boy is nearly 15, so I appreciate seeing older ones).

At 09:40 Blogger Beez said...

Okay! Enough with the overwhelming cuteness!

Nah, really want more. Beautiful pics, beautiful day AND cats!

At 09:45 Blogger Cecily said...

AFP is doing exactly what I want to do to his hair. But I am weird and like crazy hair.

We're going to have to rename this blog "Cute Overload" if this keeps up. ^_^

At 09:50 Blogger vampi said...

wow. that is cute overload.

i'm off to work with barely any sleep. also today is har cut day. hopefully i am still conscious tonight to post pics

At 09:52 Anonymous GrumpyPig said...

Haha! The catpix surface, thank you FabLo! We have been missing the poor auld things. Doing what old kitties like best - cuddling & dozing (when not being hand-fed kitty treats).

At 09:52 Blogger gaypet said...

Aw!

At 09:56 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Hi GrumpyPig, and welcome! Glad you like the kitties.

It IS kind of cute overload. Simply disgusting!

But all concerned are very happy. Me included in that.

At 09:58 Blogger Hellie said...

From the pics it seems you're having sunshine - Manchester's summer came at the weekend and was gone by Monday! I got soaked to the skin (literally, I had to change all my clothes!) in a freak ten minute rain and hail torrent on my way home from work yesterday. I can just about feel my toes again, but the photos make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside anyway - Aw you can't ever have enough cuteness. Ha and it looks as if Cabal is trying to untie the saddle in the first pic!

At 10:02 Blogger Jess said...

Aww indeed! :) Very lovely all of them.

Is it fair to want to beep a blind cat's nose? Because Zoe wouldn't see it coming. But she's asking for it.

At 10:09 Blogger Hellie said...

Jess that's a leetle bit evil but she really does have a very beepable nose lol!

At 10:14 Blogger Ticia said...

Lovely photos.

At 10:19 Blogger spacedlaw said...

Zoe! My bed fellow!

At 10:23 Blogger Chantrelle said...

Wow, the beautiful pictures won't stop!

What pretty pretty kitties. Our cat is 17 now too. He's an old curmudgeon who, if he could talk, would be saying things like my great-grandma was saying when she was 104. Things like, "why am I still alive? I'm so old!"

At 10:32 Blogger hope said...

Good morning fiends!

Lorraine, thanks so much for the photos, that Mr. Kyle Cassidy is very talented.

And the old kitty girls are beautiful. I second the gentle nose beep, what a pretty girl!

Chantrelle, your great-grandma sounds excellent.

This morning I sign the escrow thingies for my house! I think this means I'm almost done. I asked my real estate guy yesterday if I should dress up, and he said, "No, just be sober and clothed. If the escrow officer asks you if you're Hope Biggs, and you say, 'I hope so, I'm wearing her underwear,' I'll have to pull you out of there and put some coffee down your throat.'

So now I will be thinking about _Real Genius_ during the whole thing.

At 10:45 Blogger Unknown said...

Ohhhh...*melts*...those are such lovely, lovely pictures!

So nice to see more of the cats, such loves as they are!

Cabal steals every picture he's in, pretty much. If it's not him, then it's probably Mr. Neil's hair...

Thank you for sharing!

Just loads of gorgeous shots. Very nice.

At 11:15 Blogger Na said...

My daughter came in while I was reading the post. She had to see all the horse and cat and dog pics a few times. Noted that everyone looks happy, and when she saw Boss peering into a bee box she asked, "Is he the Good Guy?"
(I think 'cause in her world that's all stories are about; 'good guys' and 'bad guys'.)
(And, I answered 'yes'.)

would you pleasepleaseplease pet zoe for me? and hermione. but especially zoe.

At 11:21 Blogger spacedlaw said...

And for me. (also tells her she has fans)

At 11:31 Blogger Marjorie said...

More gorgeous photos. That first one made me smile - and the one with Zoe is really nice of Boss, as well as of the very cute cat herself.

I was disappointed to hear that Boss himself didn't venture on to a horse...

At 11:32 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I will pet her for you Kyle, can I also tell her you will be sending for her soon? You really should, you know, it DOES seem to be true love on both your parts....And she would be far happier with people who have more time and cuddles for her than we do...

I will also tell her she has fans...

At 11:33 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

The offer was there, Marjorie, but he didn't want to ride. He does say tho that perhaps he should start.

At 11:49 Blogger Marjorie said...

Good Morning Q! I just like the idea of Boss-on-horse. There's something inherently unlikely about it, somehow (I am not 100% convinved that was really him, on the horse in China. He wasn't wearing black)

At 11:58 Anonymous Anonymous said...

You know, if Zoe just showed up here, we couldn't send her back. We'd just be forced to just keep that bunny....

Not suggesting that you should just SEND HER or anything..... Nope, I wouldn't suggest that you PUT HER ON A PLANE THIS AFTERNOON.

At 12:01 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

The Boss flies to NY tomorrow. Just saying.

And yay for happy older cats! I am srsly thinking that when my current old pets pass I I will see if there are a couple of older cats who happen to need a home that likes older cats.

Zoe is a world travellin' lady, I flew her to CA and then she drove back (with human help) SHe slashed open the side of the soft carrier case, and howled like a banshee...poor little blind batgirl.

Batman is a spring chicken next to them and he is a cranky ol' bastard.

SpaceyNat, i did also say Yes, Oui, Si, Ja to Kyle's art project, maybe we will be lab partners---

Q, all these photos are so inspiring, by September, hope you will be ready for new ones!

I don't feel like i can get my head above water this week! How in the hell do you single moms do this?!?! I wanted to say yes to Kyle's art project idea, I just know I would be able to pull anything off :(

Anyway, one thing I did get done is I put a recipe contest up on FoodPorn. It's turning 10 next week... awwwww. Feel free to spread the word!

Is it time for Fiendom Come yet?!?!? Fiends, take me away!

Thanks Emily!!

I'ts funny, I don't feel overly stressed but then I realize there's this stack of phone calls I didn't make or e-mails I didn't send. So I guess if I was actually keeping track of all that stuff I'd be more stressed out :P

geez, what would it be like if I actually had a job outside of mom!

At 15:36 Blogger Na said...

You'd be in my shoes, Chantrelle. :) And apparently I hold all my stress in the muscles at the base of my skull. Grrrr.

Rainy day comfort food for dinner: miso soup, toast, salad from CSA sprouts.

The Organization Rampage continued all day: my desk is clean, my to-do list is up to date (and Fods! I have an excessively large number of projects to accomplish this summer), and I made quite a lot of headway on one of the more recalcitrant projects.

Yay me!

Next, hopefully the momentum will extend to a bit of writing.

At 18:46 Blogger losile said...

I think that first picture killed me with cuteness. I'm on the floor in a cuteness-induced coma.

At 19:07 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Hi Losile and welcome! THAT made me laugh...

HOME!!!! Not done working tho. The world does not sleep, so I will sit here, e-mailing as they pop up, watching Mim try and bury my TV remote under the futon.

No, no idea WHY.

Boss pointed out to me that the reason he didn't ride was that he had the dog, and didn't want to take my horse, as it was my ride. And Kyle was taking pics.

Cabal isn't quite safe enough to let lose around horses, on a farm where there are cats...He did fine tho, until Amanda and I got off the horses. THEN he got worried.

Hello there. We're just looking at pictures of my azaleas. Yes, I'm still stuck on my azaleas. I'll get the pics posted somewhere one of these days to bore you all with. :D

Jess, I don't THINK flowers are boring, could be wrong, but if you can get them to grow, kudos to you...

My mad Gardeners Gayle and Beez are apparently coming back on Friday. Cool.

At 20:28 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Just back from taking Tysie to the vets (for those not on Twitter, she has bowel probs again). She is not a happy camper, after being poked and prodded thoroughly in the abdomen then having blood taken.
Depending on blood results, next step will be endoscopy to check out her innards from the inside. Poor old girl.

OSS, seems to me you need a break from paperwork to get rid of that sore head!

At 21:07 Blogger Jess said...

That's what I can't work out, Q! I don't do anything to these azaleas. They just came with the house. It's a Kyushu "Komo Kulshan" azalea (this is it last year). Apparently you just plant 'em, then stand back every May and watch them go boom. Nothing like a plant that makes you look like you actually know what you're doing!

I want to see what Beez has been up to with that rototiller! :)

At 21:20 Blogger Cecily said...

Q- Totally Off Topic, but I had a weird synchronicity this last weekend that made me think of you. I have never heard of the beautiful Bengals before I started following you. Sunday I go to my Mom-in-laws, and she has rescued a cat, that is a Bengal. OMG such an awesome kitty. Still kinda skiddish, but he totally fell in love with me and was all over my lap within an hour of being around him. And now I need a bigger house so I can haves some too. :-)

At 22:34 Blogger El said...

Mr. Cassidy is indeed a spectacular photographer. The kitties look so cozy. And possibly like they'd kill me if I tried to settle in next to them. :/

I'd very much like to come and see what Beez and Gayle have been up to!

Aleta- I was wondering where you'd gotten off to. Twitter told me you were traveling, but I must have missed the where.

Sal- Give Tysie a cuddle from me.

I wish I'd had a chance to say yes to Kyle Cassidy's project, but I had an eventful weekend-- for those of you who haven't heard, I've made my first poetry sale after a lot of hard work! Over the moon is a good way to describe it.

At 22:37 Blogger AletaMay said...

El! Congrats on the poetry! So Very Exciting?

At 22:38 Blogger Chantrelle said...

Congratulations El!!

Got the boy in bed. He was asleep before i even walked out. He and I have been hula hooping together w/ the hoops my sis makes. It's the cutest thing! I love it!!

What else did people say? Ah, i forget. Hope you're about done with work Q!!

At 22:40 Blogger AletaMay said...

At 22:47 Blogger Na said...

El, that's brilliant! Congratulations!

Chantrelle, don't know about props. The house is a wreck, work is being neglected. But both children fairly well cared for and clean and all that. So I reckon it's a wash.

I am all-purpose-parenting this week because my guy is back in the States visiting his mom, who is rapidly fading from cancer. It's not an easy relationship, but she is his mother, and still a crummy time for the family. I tell you, I am appreciating time with my monsters very dearly right now.

Very cheering to hear of happy critters and peeps 'round here. Cheers, mates.

At 22:48 Blogger Cecily said...

Side note to someone whom I know will appreciate, I finally found my kitty today! Or rather, she finally found her human. A little girl nobody wanted jumped in my arms at the shelter and said TAKE ME HOME! Apparently this was unheard of behavior for her. Hooray for new kitty adventures :D

At 07:26 Blogger dabbler said...

Morning/evening all. Tried to post from laptop yesterday, but Blogger would have none of it. Got home to find my desktop had acquired an extremely nasty virus. I DID NOT click on Spyware 2009 (which is the scam and apparently makes it worse,) but Avast has failed to remove it, so now it's up to DH...who has good skills, but no time. SO I am typing this on Grinch, and also click, click, clanking. Note: all our computers are named for Dr. Seuss characters, starting with Sneetch, many years ago.

Hugs to Na and Na's guy. And Chantrelle, and OSS and anyone I've forgotten who needs one. Heck...hugs all around!

My old lady, at fifteen, has been decimating this year's population of bunnies. We have to see if she's alone these days when she meows at the door, cause she like to bring them home and show us. "Look Mom, I got it!" She's up to three, plus several smaller beasties.

Arrrgfh! Had a comment all typed up yesterday and forgot to hit the right button. (Too many comments now to read them all before posting but I'll get around to it eventually.)

At any rate, hours and hours later, I am chiming in to say we've got a 17 yr old cat, too. All things considered, he's doing better than I would have ever imagined (especially since he's 3-legged).

The photos are a delight! Thanks.

Wow, there are a lot of 17 yr old cats around here!!

I feel better today than yesterday. Ben climbed in bed w/ me this morning and we slept until 8:30. The only thing on my sched. today is buy Tori tix at the presale and take ben to swim class. The rest of the day can be catching up on stuff (even though i'll also have to entertain ben, at the moment he's on pbskids.org)

I'm glad i got to sleep since i've been staying up too late reading the first Earthsea book (LeGuin). I'm almost done but i couldn't keep my eyes open to finish it!

At 12:44 Blogger DataGoddess said...

I've missed you guys!! *hugs* all around!

Lovely pics - I love the one of AFP with her head back glowing in the sun.

I got to spend a week with a kitty who suddenly became an only-kitty a few months ago when her sister died. She's undergone a personality change - she was more passive, but has become a real alpha cat. And apparently I give good ear scritches :-)

At 13:01 Blogger ariandalen said...

Tangwyn is 12, so he's the youngster of the bunch. The feral boys are now a year old (Dragon and Pirate). Dragon has now brought a little calico around, though I don't think Lavender (Great Pyrenees, age 2) let's her in the pen to eat. We can't leave food on the deck or front porch as we have at least one raccoon and one opossum who will come eat it. They won't go in the dog pen.

Hi, Sherri - PDX Yogini! Welcome to Fiendom! :) Buckled jackets and personalization materials are readily available, just pick which you want.

Dabbler, thanks for thoughts and virtual hugs and all. The MIL is doing a bit better, and weird family drama stuff has resumed.

It's truly, not just virtually warm here today, which always makes things a little better.

Saw the other pic of Zoe. Her nose looks even more beepable there, and Mr Kyle's description of her is adorable.

I agree with the "How do single moms do it?" question.

I remember in the years B.C. when I was traveling and would go out of town, my cats would be sitting in the front window looking sadly at me and I'd think, "There's no WAY I could handle being a working mom if mt cats make me feel this guilty for leaving them!"

Of course, they started the guilt trip the night before when the suitcase came out and they'd pack themselves in it.

I hope everyone's complications sort themselves out to a less-stressful level. After Monday things here should slow down considerably. Let's hope everyone else's do, too.

Four weeks to Fiend Fest! Just as nervous about meeting the fiends, truth to tell, but still looking forward to it. And can’t possibly sneak out the back, unless I try to spend the long weekend hiding in the Mpls airport. Hmmmm…

Happy happy Firbday to you, Aleta!

OSS - I was facing bifocals too, but opted to have my second pair of specs done for the new, close-up-work-only Rx. Sharing this, 'cause I like options, and it wasn't one they suggested.

At 12:18 Blogger One Sock Short said...

Thanks, Na. I've thought about that, and might ask what the optometrist would suggest. My work goes back and forth between distance and close-up a lot, so I'm not sure myself. 'Course if if got two specs, I could get an eyeglass chain. I'm lacking that aspect of the librarian stereotype. That and thick enough hair to stay put in a bun ;-)

At 12:22 Blogger One Sock Short said...

Speaking of hair....

At 12:35 Blogger Chantrelle said...

I got cute little silver reading glasses on a chain when i was in college! Between the lit. major reading stack and the computer to write the papers, my eyes were hating me but at least i looked cutely bookish :)

At 12:40 Blogger AletaMay said...

I first got progressive lenses almost 10 years ago. They have been great. I do think it is time for a new prescription though as it has been a couple of years and I am starting to have some trouble with small print again.

Hair photos? Are you hiding Q?

Off to seize the day and all that.

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!

At 12:43 Blogger Marjorie said...

Happy Firbday Aleta ;-) Hope the day goes well for you.

Also, Congratulations El (don't think I said that before)

Glasses - how about varifocals? - my mum went from bifocals to varifocals and said once she got used to them they were better.

At 12:54 Blogger One Sock Short said...

I'll probably end of with something like that. My biggest problem is that my distance Rx is so strong that it's too much for computer and close-up.

I knew I was forgetting something earlier...congrats to El for publishing!

Feel like I'm forgetting something else now.

At 12:56 Blogger Rubius said...

oops, I forgot that one too.. Congrats El!!! Big accomplishment. We are very proud of you.

At 13:10 Blogger Na said...

Oh yes, Aleta, do go out and seize the carp! And let there be cake!

I have to admit, one reason I went with single-Rx glasses for close-up/reading was the significantly lower lenses cost.

Chantrelle's Little-Bookish-Miss Look sounds adorable.

At 14:21 Blogger spacedlaw said...

The hair seems to have disappeared with its fair owner.
Last seen roaming the wild looking for mischief (i.e. most likely swamped in work).

At 14:23 Blogger spacedlaw said...

Oh crumbs and I meant to say this but keep on forgetting (my brain refused to get out of bed this morning. smart creature): Congrats, El.

At 15:12 Blogger vampi said...

ahhh fiends, it has been eventful in my world. got my hair did, spent 6 hours in the hospital because my bf couldn't swallow, you know, crazy week.

everythign is ok here, just exhausted. hospitals are scary places if you don't know what the noises and beeps mean. boy's fine after they did an endoscopy to remove the "foreign body". i guess he was possessed. at least it wasn't the next aliens movie, no sigourgy weaver kicking butt.

i'd 2^n where n is the exponential number of fiends requesting to see hair, second the request for hair pictures. joan jett is pretty cool, and you did just get the leather outfit... i see a music video in your future about coins and music playing devices.

*just smile and nod...my brain is shot, so i don't even know if i made sense.

Happy Milestone, Aleta! You were born on the same day as my little sister. Hope you have a great weekend!

I started mine right. Sugar cookies and milk for dinner. Mmmm. It's okay - I had veggies for lunch and snax.

You people are funny. I bet I'd have wet myself if I had taken Spouse up on that martini offer. It's never too late...

At 17:51 Blogger Jane said...

Waiting for dinner guests...planning on a martini for sure. New person coming, sister of one of the other guests. Actually the dinner is so we can meet her. Yea for new people!

Q, looking forward to new hair viewing.

Aleta, Happy Birthday!

You lot are great. Thank you for the congratulations! I'm very excited and I'll have more information shortly. Right now I know the issue will be out June 15th and my work -may- appear online, hah. The publication is Main Channel Voices, an almost-local magazine.

Hope every little thing is great, and Vampi, I hope that the scary bits are over and things get better.

Now, off to celebrate a certain Someone's birthday...

At 21:03 Blogger One Sock Short said...

Lorraine, you're not hiding under the bedcovers, like Anne after turning her hair green with the tinker's dye are you?

Maybe you're just pausing to watch Boss sweep the audies, like the rest of us, before posting pictures. Hmmm?

I might not be able to sleep tonight with the suspense, ya know. And I have to work tomorrow, or I won't have enough leave time to come for Fiend Fest. Or hide in the Mpls airport. One of those.

At 21:39 Blogger hope said...

Hi Fiends!

Congrats El! and Vampi, hope your boy is fine now! I get keys to my new house Tuesday. Told my landlord I'm moving today, and did a few changes o' address. It seems more realer now.

My new rescue kitty, Eubie, is doing great! He's gaining weight and his horrible wound is almost closed up. Hopefully next week he'll be well enough to neuter, because those big fambly jewels scare me a bit. :)

I am looking forward to seeing the new lorraine hair, also.

Also, Curious George, heee!

At 21:59 Blogger Siri said...

OSS - you won't spend the fest weekend in the airport. Promise.

I think Q went out and got herself a life to go with her new hair.

Wonder where I can get one of those.

Night, Fiendom

At 22:06 Blogger One Sock Short said...

Ah, but how will you find me if I chicken out and decide to hide? After all, you've only ever seen my feet.

Hmmm, a life. There's a thought. We'll have to ask her where to look for one when she gets back.

Hopefully the hair survived at least. Something to remember her by.

Thanks for all the great good wishes here and on faceboook. I have had a lovely birthday capped by a really wonderful gathering of friends (and a couple of fiends!) this evening. I love that I am home in my pjs by midnight. This getting older is turning out to be alright!

Q I hope you are well and have some time for relaxing this weekend!

At 00:41 Blogger vampi said...

i'm so late, but happy aleta day! it sounds like you had a loverly time. *hugs*

oh and things are fine here, boy is sore, but returns to work today. he's not pleased with the discomfort while eating, but it is understandable. in 3 weeks he goes for a second endoscopy to make sure there isn't any underlying cause.

At 00:44 Blogger Chantrelle said...

Hope Q returns to us tomorrow!!

Good night dear ones.

At 08:33 Blogger One Sock Short said...

Hi fiends!

Here I am, at work, making up the last of the sick days. All alone in the department. Maybe I'll be haunted by the ghosts of catalogers past. They wouldn't be too scary. Probably just lean over my shoulder while I'm working to tell me I'm doing it wrong.

On the plus side, no need to put my shoes back on unless I need to actually step outside the department.

Also, I have a concert to look forward to tonight. A colleague here plays in a cello ensemble. Her description: "12 cellos playing everything from classical to tango to folk to metal". This should be good.

Wishing you all a great day.

At 10:13 Blogger Phiala said...

The Fabulous Lorraine has gone missing, taking her Fabulous New Hair with her!

You'd think having Boss off winning awards would create a heavy workload or something...

Congrats to Boss and the Boss-Team!

It is a lovely morning here, after a week of rain. I lost most of the morning to a Horrible Headache (now medicated into submission) and His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik. I HIGHLY recommend it. I was completely and totally hooked by page 8. Growing up on Horatio Hornblower didn't hurt, but I don't think it's necessary.

I need to tackle some sort of project now. Creative, or Organizational, or Overdue? The Organizational Rampage at work was highly effective.

It would probably be most useful to start by figuring out an arrangement that does not involve balancing the new printer precariously on the only chair in my office, or having the computer on a desk too high to comfortably type at. That alone would improve productivity drastically.

At 10:18 Blogger spacedlaw said...

Creative with office furniture management?

In the meantime, Zombees.
Neil said something about the Russian bees coming in Have they materialised, I wonder, or got stuck along the way, drinking vodka and singing sad music in their boxes?

At 10:22 Blogger dabbler said...

Oops. Happy late firbday to AletaMay, congrats to El (very cool, that!) and hugs to vampi and her boy, that's a crummy way to spend a day.

Started mine doing T'ai Chi ion a local park, something I've wanted to do for a long time and feel great about starting. We'll see how I am at sustaining...

At 10:23 Blogger dabbler said...

And where is our lovely Q? If she's hiding under her bed she should know better. We'll love her with whatever hair, or none at all,

At 10:23 Blogger One Sock Short said...

Please send some of that Organizational Rampage energy my way. I'm going though my problem piles at work. I don't remember why some of these things are here, they've been piled so long. Well, I have all day to figure them out, anyway.

Should we be worried about this lack of Lorraine?

At 10:32 Blogger Phiala said...

Tai Chi has always looked like fun.

The biggest problem in the office is that I won't part with either the giant loom or the roll-top desk, and neither makes a good computer surface. That, and the room is just plain too small for office/studio/business combined, even with business stock jammed into spare storage areas all over the house.

At 11:05 Blogger Jane said...

Phiala - Tai chi *is* fun.

I requested His Majesty's Dragon from the library. Thanks for the tip.

And yes, we do all need a TARDIS - LOL!

At 11:09 Blogger Jess said...

I'm sure Q's fine, Sock; it's only been a day. :) Just busy, probably. (Though I hope she's getting a little quality Quiche/bengal time, too!)

Well, Fiends, I have a sedum, and a hosta, and some tomato plants-- and today I mean to plant them all!

*flexes intention-muscles*

Yes, This year I shall have tomatoes! Before September. If I'm lucky. Anyway, I'm off to plant. Hope all of you are having a good weekend!

At 12:39 Blogger Beez said...

At 16:33 Blogger Beez said...

Laaazy afternoon Marjorie. Very very nice. Perfect day weather-wise, planted some more veggies and now the son & heir and I are going to the bookstore.

At 16:34 Blogger Siri said...

Quiet, Marjorie. Very Quiet. OSS and Phiala seem to have ambition, and Jess had intentions.

I had neither, and have fulfilled that promise.

I did make a lovely asparagus fried rice for lunch. Yum.

At 16:38 Blogger AletaMay said...

Beez is right. Perfect day weather-wise here today. I meant to come inside and get some things done but ended up sitting on the porch reading for an hour, totally blissed out.

:happy sigh:

At 16:51 Blogger Marjorie said...

yeah, the weather's been glorious here, too - I was reading in the garden earlier, and the bees were coming in becasue it was warm enough to have the doors and windows open!

At 17:23 Blogger Na said...

Bleargh. Kid party attended. One of those big indoor play places. Noisy, crowded, and after pizza and cake came the nearly obligatory "goody bag" of made-in-China plastic stuff and edible sugary stuff which I would not go so far as to call "food".

I've informed the monsters they get nothing but carrots and grubs for a week, plus, at their insistence following this announcement, milk.

It's beautifully warm and sunny here. High 70s all week, cool evenings. mmmmmmm. Windows and doors open, but with screens. Perfect.

We had a lovely sunny but cold Saturday, and I've woken up to a wet and dreary Sunday.

Perfect reading weather I say. I bought the Name of The Wind(thanks Marjorie) on Friday, and intend to lose myself in its pages today.
Yesterday I watched Serenity for the first time. Man, I loves it.

Another amusing bit of online genre smashup silliness, here. Don't know as it's drinks-down for everyone; I laughed 'til I cried.

At 21:31 Blogger ariandalen said...

My Saturday was spent with the whole family watching "Up" in 3D. Wonderful movie! Everyone should go see it. :)
Then we took them to a park with a paved path to ride their bikes. We only went around the circuit once (1/2 mile) as DH inadvertently left their helmets at home. Made DDs happy, though we need to get DD1 a new bike and let DD2 ride her sister's current bike as they've grown considerably since the bikes were bought. Granted, it's already summer here, where the high today was 92 F according to the car thermometer.

Tomorrow we a scheduled to get up and go hiking at a Corps of Engineer park at a local lake. I do believe a picnic is also planned. :)

At 21:32 Blogger Ticia said...

Na-I loved that!

Hi fiends! I'm recovering from Balticon. I slept far too long last night, but I feel less like Depression's Bitch today, so it's all good.

I'm in line right now to see Up in 3D, fun!

Yesterday was busy! After the early T'ai Chi class, went to the world premiere of a movie written, produced and directed by two friends of friends... entirely in ASL with captioning for the rest of us. Amazingly good. Several of the actors, including the lead, Anthony Natale, are deaf. Nicole Kidman has a small role, and the whole thing is just excellent...great production values, directing, cinematography.... And a feel good story about loss and love. DH and I were blown away.

They are looking for enough groundswell of interest to get a distribution deal. Check out http://hnhinc.com/us/

Another warm day in the generally-frozen North. Hurray! And my guy safely arrived home just before midnight, hurray!

Chantrelle, hurray your guy will be home soon!

And it's June! Less 'n four weeks to Fiendom Come!

Happy to have things to cheer about. If I could just get this ms edited, invoice for it, and borrow some of Phiala's reorganization energy and thus pwn the housework, I'd have to break out in song.
