Rock Extravaganza!!!!!!!!!

I went to the Store That Has Everything today. I forget it's name, but if you want to say, build a house, this is your store. And anything else you need. I did get the hammer. And a trampoline. And the Bengal Proof screening. And THIS!!!!!!!

I knew that I wanted a little fountain for the new porch. Bengals like water. I thought maybe a little pool, but then I saw this Rock Extravaganza and even tho it was kind of a way lot more than I wanted to spend, what do you do when something is this perfect????? As you can see, it is POPULAR.

I didn't get a couch, something I wasn't opposed to dropping some $$ on, but only because the just exactly perfect one failed to appear. This is still a very exciting week tho. My deck is getting stained. My house washed on the outside (apparently they need that from time to time) My new lawn is going to grow. And Mad Gardeneres Gayle and Beez want to come over and garden (Hey, show up, I'm not turning down help, and when I say help, I mean, come and garden. I will make tea.)

As you can see, the New Rock Fountain is currently in the kitchen. I kind of like it in the kitchen. The Ficas is there too. It's looking less like a kitchen and more like some sort of water park all the time. Cool. (TOLD you I would get a waterfall, now didn't I?) IT will go outside for the summer when the porch is done, but for now, I like the look.

As do Venu and Mim.

Now I just need one for Magic.

And maybe the Royals......

Ah, the possibilities....

Love and Water,
Lorraine

Ohhh, I've been so tempted by similar ones at my local gardening place. My sort of waterfall.
It looks pretty good in the kitchen, I must say - and the Bengals love it!

Yep. That's cooler than the mirror. :)

It's bedtime for me. I have to have my teeth cleaned in the morning.

It's perfect. Water is my healing element. And look how magical your Bengal Mountain is.

My online life has been swallowed whole. Too busy today for twitter!

And I have the biggest grin on my face.

Flying out on Thursday.

Balticon, here I come!

Soon, Fiendom Come!

The kitties sure seem to love it (although they might find the wee birdies on the fountain a little hard to chew upon).
Water fun!

At 00:22 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Oh, I bet Magic would have a blast in a fountain like that! Looks like Venus and Mim are already having plenty of fun!

The right couch will appear when it's the right time. If you got it now, anyway, where would you put it while the porch is being prepared?

At 00:25 Blogger vampi said...

i love how things magically come to you and fit perfectly. i am in awe at your innate ability to find the most perfect things.

looks awesome!

i can't wait for unintnional kitty swom pictures.

I am home! And will now once again be commenting and reading all of your lovely words, thanks to the wonder of consistent internet and phone connection!

Bengals and fountains are a match made in messy, very wet heaven. Enjoy! (get a splash guard!)

I am abusing exclamation marks I'm so happy to be home. We also have some moving plans now, which means I can book my flights for Fiendmeet.

Ok, enough babbling for tonight. I will sum up: HI EVERYONE! :D

The photo of Mim and Venus on the fountain just made me *so* happy.

And I really needed some happy.

Thank you!

GOL Mim and Venus look utterly engrossed. And I love that you have such furniture in the kitchen and a fountain!, temporary though the latter may be.

Hey Adri! Welcome back to the land of the plugged in! I send you well wishes for the pending cross-country move.

vampi, that is funny.

grateful for reminders to bring in plants, heh.

Wow! Nice. Reminds me of the summer G was 3 and we had to visit every garden center in every store around us so he could get up close and personal with all the fountains. Perhaps my son is part Bengal...

Congrats, Q.

In your honor, I spent the bulk of my online time today looking at patio furniture. Need an umbrella. And lights.

At 03:05 Blogger Marjorie said...

Marvellous - Venus and Mim are two lucky bengals!

The pictures cheered me right up - I am in grouchy mode today - slept v. badly, have woken up with a cold and we have an audit at work today - the kind where they look to see if we have been ticking the tright boxes...(no actual review of whether we have been, ooh, giving accurate advice or getting results)

Marjorie, must be the season for audits...DH has one this morning, too. May the auditors fail to find much, except whatever they must create, in order to have something that justifies their jobs....

And hugs to all who need them, especially Fluffy and her daughter.

At 06:49 Blogger Jess said...

Excellent! I likes that.

Venus is pointing.

At 07:09 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Bengals in fountains make people happy. They took a break last night and slept with me, but now they are back at it.

I am glad they cheered you all up. We aim to please.

Venus does point!!!!!!!!

What? Not up yet? The day is new! Things are a foot! Wake up!

Where are my gardeners? The sun has been up for n hour and I sit here with tea in hand, but it's just me and wet Bengals.

At 07:25 Blogger Ticia said...

Good morning Quiche! I've been up for an hour too.. Trying to catch up on twitter.

My sun's just starting to come up... Should be a beautiful day.

At 07:26 Blogger Hellie said...

Lunchtime here, been up for hours and just got back from walk in rain...and now the sun is out.

Aww the bengals in the fountain made me happy too! Is the trampoline for the bengals as well? ;o)

If you have 5 minutes to spare, I recommend this poem/puzzle/game thing - it's happiness inducing too! http://ludomancy.com/games/today.html You have to do certain things to turn the sad poem into a happy one (nice music with sound too)

At 07:43 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

KInd of like this morning thing. Like getting extra hours in a day.

The trampoline is for Boss. He had one, but we got it some years ago, and it no longer has the bounce it once did. So, a new one.

I am so beyond excited abut al the house work going on this week!!!!!!!!! I've done lots inside, but hardly ever anything OUTSIDE.

No one is here yet to begin the fun.

At 07:50 Blogger Hellie said...

I think I'm on my third trampoline - they do get bounceless after a while! Great fun and good exercise, although living in a 3rd floor apartment I do wonder what the downstairs neighbours think I'm doing....!

Good luck with the house work! We organised Finances over weekend, and House prettification is next on my list!!

At 07:52 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Hellie, I can only imagine what they think! A trampoline in an apartment? Rock on, girl....

At 08:04 Blogger Hellie said...

LOL! I hasten to add it is a small trampoline!! And I can't bounce too hard or I would end up with a dented ceiling, and a dented head :oD

At 08:21 Blogger dabbler said...

Morning, Fablo. Do the Bengals complain when wet, or just shake it off and keep going? Adventure follows me around meowing petulantly until I get a towel and rub her dry. Servants, fer sure.

At 08:23 Blogger spacedlaw said...

Your non gardener was stuck in a meeting

At 08:38 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Bengals LIKE being wet. Pre-fountain they would play in their water dishes. At least I hope that was where they were playing.

Nathilie, don't worry, we have other skills.

At 11:19 Blogger Beez said...

That is freaking awesome! I need something like that at New House.

From Fleet Farm perhaps? [/hopefully]

I like how the kitchen is evolving...kind of Has Everything room.

So I was planning on coming out to madly garden tomorrow and/or Wednesday but I need to know where to find you- I could prolly get within 10 miles or so without specifics, but then I'd be gardening up some farmer's soybeans and they hate it when I do that. (email iz good).

I've been dreaming up ideas on how to de-lawn that ginormous hill you have. That must be Mowing Hell.

At 11:33 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Beez, I live near the lake about 2 blocks from the graveyard. Drop me an e-mail if you want anything more specific....

You should see if Gayle is coming too and ride together....

(She says thinking the more the better, this project needs HELP)

At 11:35 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Oh, not fleet farm. Another store. fleet farm only wishes.

And the hill may or may not be mowing hell. The nice lawn service who does it does not complain as long as I pay the bills.

At 12:00 Blogger hope said...

good morning, fiends!

I said back several posts that I would adopt a kitty to show solidarity with Lorraine and Hope-the-kitty, and for general universe-balancing, and lo! My dear fiend called me yesterday because there was a starved kitty in a very bad way in her cat carrier which was out on her porch overnight.

I will spare you the details, but please, please, for the love of everything good, if you have to collar your cat, USE A BREAKAWAY COLLAR.

This adorable boy kitty is now recovering in my bathroom, and is gentle and sweet and dog-friendly, and his provisional name is Eubie (because he is black and thin with long long legs and arms and has a drawl) and is now in the Biggs fambly.

When his armpit is less swoon-inducing I will get him neutered, and he will meet the other kitties.

And hopefully my frantic efforts on Friday placated the Loan Gods, and my house will be mine soon!

At 12:22 Blogger Marjorie said...

Hope, glad to hear that one more cat will besafe & loved. (And also - please tell the people who make cat collars that I do not want glitter, or pink fluffyness, I jut want a quick release collar which is reflective....

Audit seemed to go OK so far - it's an audit of publicly funded work, not of our accounts, and it is all about ticking the right boxes and nothing about whether we actually do a good job.So mostly a waste of eveyone's time. Grrr.

Dabbler, hope DH's audit goes smoothly.

I am now back home with the headache from hell.

At 12:23 Blogger Dan Guy said...

I like the idea of a water park kitchen. The Bengals demand a slide.

At 12:27 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Snort!!!!!!!!

There goes the tea Danguy. A slide.

(still laughing)

Good on you Hope! Collers are not so good a thing for kitties no matter what...

At 12:28 Blogger Kitty Cat said...

i love that in your kitchen. MIster Gorey would be just fine with it too.

as TLC once said "don't go chasing waterfalls..."
Kylie had her first earthquake last night and she kinda went batshit, along with Batman. Some chicken crimefighters!
I wish i could come over and garden...or bee...or trampoline!
ps i love that you said "things are a foot"

At 12:47 Blogger Jess said...

Kitty - Going Batshit is only proper behavior for a cat called Batman.

If there's ever to be a Bengal Slide installed, Q, I demand video.

(And Hellie: I played that game! Love that. It's a very uplifting little thing. :) )

At 12:50 Blogger One Sock Short said...

Good day today! Scored ticket to Chicago Printers Row event with Boss. And my new fountain pen has been delivered and is waiting for me at home.

Did a quick skim to catch up. Hugs to those needing hugs, especially Fluffy and daughter.

Hope, good on you for rescuing a kitty. Sounds like it's about time Eubie got some TLC.

Back to work.

At 12:56 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

I'd go batshit too if there was that big an earthquake and I was there. Trust me. I wish you were here too Kitty!

My house is washed! It's yellow! I mean I kind of knew that, but now it is REALY yellow.

I don't LIKE yellow, but better YELLOW than dirty and yellow.

At 14:09 Blogger Chantrelle said...

What an awesome addition to your kitchen!

I've spent most of the morning updating files on foodporn.com. It turns out I was tracking traffic on only the homepage, so tomorrow I expect to see much higher page view numbers. At least I hope I do!

Need to gobble some lunch and then do a grocery store run before I have to pick up Ben. we're out of all the staples: milk, bread, juice, butter... can't run out of butter!! Oh the horror!

Yay for scoring tickets OSS! Someone needs to figure out teleporting just so I can make it to all of Boss's readings and events! I'm sure he'd appreciate that too since it would mean less time on planes!

At 15:00 Blogger Erin Underwood said...

I love the waterfall! It's cat-tastic! I may have to break down and buy something similar since Oliver only likes to drink running water.

You're house is looking so relaxing and welcoming! It's wonderful.

Also, that gilt mirror is LOVELY!

At 15:07 Blogger ariandalen said...

Well, I didn't have a fountain in my kitchen when I came home last night, but DH did buy a reclining leather loveseat and a coffee table whose top levers up to lap height from a scratch and dent sale. We had to take the front door off its hinges to get it in, but it wasn't too much trouble.

Still, not as cool as a fountain.

At 16:42 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

HA! Just Bee'd with no gloves. Hey, it's a start.

At 16:54 Blogger ariandalen said...

W00T!

Way to go, Ms. Fabulous!

At 17:15 Blogger Phiala said...

Morgan would love a fountain! Maine Coon, not Bengal, but similar attitudes until water. His only lasts until it soaks thru the fur, though- then he's dreadfully confused about how he got WET.

At 17:26 Blogger Fluffy said...

Woohoo, Adri! Another Fiend to swell the Fiendish Ranks!

And Jess, cool new photo. Profiles look so dignified.

And thanks, everyone, for the positive vibes! Revelle is home from her first day back at school. My first words to her were "WHY are you CARRYING YOUR BACKPACK??? The doctor said specifically not to!" She thought it was okay since it was on her back. sigh.

Gloveless beeing. Sounds kind of Zen.

And a water slide for the kitties!!! How cool (and in how many ways?) would that be?

We are thinking about getting a fountain for the back yard. I'm looking for one the right size. And we're also committed to getting a trampoline for the daughter - already set aside a circular area for one.

Right now I need to consider dinner. Backson. Bisybackson.

At 17:47 Blogger AletaMay said...

afoot things indeed!

I want to help garden! We'll see if it works out or not. I sat on the porch for a bit when I got home this afternoon and enjoyed (and tweeted) the lilacs. I think you should plant Lilacs. Sigh.

Love the fountain. Love the Bengals with the fountain even more.

I must confess I do not love Creeping Carlie.

Very glad to hear that Daughter of Fluffy is doing well!

Bee'd without gloves! You Rock Q! Want to hear all about it.

At 18:41 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

New Bee Post is up! Before Midnight! And I am Home! Whee hoo!

At 18:44 Blogger hope said...

Wow, bee'd without gloves!

And Fluffy, so glad your daughter is doing better!

OSS, hurray for getting tickets! I'm sure it will be a wonderful time.

Eubie's hideous owie looks better already. Now I just have to convince a vet to give me an a la carte feline leukemia test.
