From Marilyn RE: CA Bengal Rescue

I'm letting Marilyn write this blog in its entirety tonight. If you are out that way, or know anyone, or can help save these Bengals, please, they need you now....

Dear All,

4 more pictures have been added to the ever-growing list of Bengals from this big rescue. The cats I just added are: Kajal, Edison, Aramis and Dukot. They can be seen on the Lancaster page of the California Bengal Cat Rescue site. There will be more cats added of course...

A few days ago a vet volunteered her services and spent a few hours evaluating the cats. She was able to examine a total of 33 of them. Some of the cats were in hiding.

Four cats were transported yesterday into foster homes near Sacramento. Two of them, Aramis and Zealle, a bonded pair, will be spayed and neutered this week. Dukote and Ramy will be neutered either this week or next week. Dukote is very stressed out, he has had a hard time of it and he needs time to adjust to his new surroundings.

On Wednesday, seven of the cats will be spayed/neutered. I only have one foster home for one of these cats. If anyone can foster, please contact me ASAP, otherwise, they will be going back to recooperate in a less then ideal situation.

On Friday, Sandy, the SGC will have his operation. . Next week 10 more are scheduled to be put in neutral, and so it goes, every week until all of them have been fixed.

We continue to send the plea out for foster homes, adopters, ear mite medicine, donations, and transporters. We really appreciate any and all help.

Please send donations through PayPal to: donate@bengalrescuenetwork.org and write in the memo or subject head that it’s for California. We are a 5013C organization, so whatever you donate can be written off. In PayPal you can designate it as a gift, so there are no fees.

Poor kitties!

Of course, clicking the email box would help...

Click! click! click!
Oh, where is my brain?
In bed, snoring.

I will see what I can do.

Snow???? What's up with SNOW? Hmmph. Not what I am thinking is any good, not this morning.

Poor sad crazed morning.

Adventure day. The adventure being can I pull this off. I mean yes, but, oh it is early. One tea then I fly to work.

At 07:27 Blogger spacedlaw said...

Well you did say it would happen. 3 to 4 inches even, was your forecast for today.
Happy airport runs. Have some HOT tea first.
Also: Are you parked on the right side of the road already?

Tea + Snow + China = WHEEE!

At 07:42 Blogger dabbler said...

Warm hugs!

At 07:50 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

It's so not yet winter here that snow parking is not even going on for another month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man. This is one of those mornings.

Having a FAST second cup of tea while the car desnows and warms on the theory that even if I was THERE there would be no waking Boss up...

In 12 hours I will be home, and tell you of these adventures.

At 07:51 Blogger Phiala said...

Good luck! Not that you & fabulous assistanting powers need luck, of course. But hooray for a 2nd cup of tea!

At 07:53 Blogger spacedlaw said...

From Twitter it sounded as you were just going to pack Boss in one of the luggage piece (it could be a solution, no need to waking him up).

At 08:29 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Snow? There shouldn't be snow there yet, it's only the beginning of October!!

Oh, will the bengals go out on the screamed porches if there's so, so they can play in it?

Hope your day goes well, Q. At least Boss can't be that hard to pack for, eveything's black so there's no matching!

Have a good day, everyone. Dan's on fall break from school, so I'm taking 2 of my forced days off (must cut my hours this quarter by 10%, which is 6 days).

At 08:49 Blogger EmilyLady said...

I'll spread the word and would totally say more right now if my plague weren't a lot worse than I had expected it to be. Sigh.

At 08:56 Blogger Jess said...

Snow and Bengals and Pandas oh my!

I don't want winter to come. The trees have barely turned here. Stuff is still GREEN, for heaven's sake. You keep it over there. Make Hans build a big fence.

Why can't I get my chai to taste like chai? This morning I boiled the water in a pot and heated the milk first and everything. It still tastes Improper. M and tea just don't get on. Oh, coffee, I miss you so.

At 08:57 Blogger Jess said...

And by "M" I mean me, not Judi Dench.

At 09:17 Blogger Na said...

Fods bless and keep those California Bengals.

Adventure ho! Hope all goes as smoothly as possible, Q.

Regarding trees with green leaves - as of the first snow here, which was last Wednesday, a lot of trees still had green or greenish leaves. On Friday morning, I noticed many but not all of these trees had apparently dropped all their leaves at once (fwump!) overnight, and the snowy ground below them was then covered in a layer of green, poor naked tree above.

Em, go rest! Get well!

i wish Batman & Kylie would go for it.
they aren't taking superhero additions, is what they said when i left. very clear on that, they were.

the snow is so beautiful for falling today like i asked.
i come visit to get some weather and it sure isn't disappointing me! Weather Girl Q is happy too, despite her surprise.
as for snow parking, maybe they will decide to change it, and not tell anyone, and then tickets all 'round!

had fresh garden carrots that Quiche pulled herself for my juice this morning, isn't this woman a gem!>??!!
photos up on a new blog soon...when the Treehouse lets me.

At 10:06 Blogger EmilyLady said...

Oh, now, see, I don't like coffee, Jess. But chai is a good thing.

At 10:06 Blogger EmilyLady said...

Speaking of which, I should go fix some tea to fiht the plague.

At 10:16 Blogger Hellie said...

Get well Emily! Tea is the ultimate plague beater. Also hot blackcurrent and honey - is doing the trick at stopping me coughing all the time!

Poor kitties, hope they find good homes.

Snow, how lovely! It's not very likely that I will get birthday/Halloween snow in New York is it? It is a beautiful golden autumn day here, the trees were glowing like lorien as I came to work this morning!

This is an absolutely mammoth task for Marilyn and I so wish I could help but IL is a long way from California. I know how stretched Bengal rescue is in my own area and can't imagine how we would cope. If you can take care of a cat and you have a place the cat can be isolated to start with, you can foster. I do, it is wonderful.

At 10:32 Blogger Uisge said...

Spreading the word for poor kitties.

Now resting and reading (work stuff, sadly) and watching the fat flakes fall.

At 11:10 Blogger Lioness said...

I'll post on twitter about the Bengals but I think that anyone I know in California either has cats, doesn't want them or had had to give them up.
Good luck with the adventurous day. It seems to be proceeding alright, as far as I can see on twitter, anyway.
And yes, please keep the snow!

Hellie, dark chocolate is a bit helpful for suppressing coughs. :D I've been told this, and tried it, and it does seem to help some. It's certainly enjoyable, if you like dark chocolate, any ol' way.

Safe travels, Kitty!

To anyone reading from Canada - Happy Thanksgiving!

ticky, since I can't rescue at this point.

You know, I'm getting a bit sick of these low blood sugars ... makes me wonder how much longer I have to live, quite frankly ...

At 14:08 Blogger dabbler said...

Emily dear, two thoughts. None of us know how long we have to live, truly. And remember that low blood sugars mess with your head as well as the rest of you.

I assume you are working with an endocrinologist... what does s/he have to say about this roller coaster?

Hugs to you and your Mom....I'm sending healing thoufghts.

At 14:45 Blogger Jane said...

Hugs to you, Emily. You sound so sad and a little fed up. Hope you can find out what is going on and you feel better.

At 17:05 Blogger One Sock Short said...

Emily, much as I hate to say it, have your drs considered whether the pump isn't the best delivery system for you right now? Whatever the sich is, I hope you feel better soon!

Have a few hours to kill before dance class. Have book and knitting, just need a place. Will probably just hang out at the school, listening to people practice.

At 17:44 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Em, huge hugs. So frustrating. ISn't a pump meant to STOP this sort of thing happening?
Lorraine, hope the day flies for you!

At 18:55 Blogger EmilyLady said...

It's true the pump is meant to stop this. And I have been talking with the endocrinologists, but not enough, I suppose. I have thought about being taken off the pump, but when it works well, boy does it work well. Yes, lows mess with my head ... and make me tired. Thanks for the Fiendish love and support; it does help.

At 20:09 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Ack.

Did a new blog up now on being a really really DONE assistant for the day....

Go now, and give me comfort...

At 20:09 Blogger Aline Martins said...

(huge hugs) we are here for you dear...

At 20:14 Blogger AletaMay said...

Take care Em.

Snow was weird. Weird to have snow on trees still holding green leaves.

Hope the adventures went well today Q!

At 13:34 Anonymous Marilyn, The Cat Coach said...

Thank you Lorraine! This is wonderful of you to post this. I just posted 3 more cats on the site: http://home.pacifier.com/~ltdltd/CALancaster.html

Tomorrow 7 kitties go in for their operations. At this point only 2 will have a place to go after their surgery. The others will have to go back up the mountain until I can find good homes and foster homes.

Thank you everyone for your support. This is truly an awful and difficult situation.
Marilyn
