SOS Bengal Rescue NOW!!!!!!!!
We have two really lovely Marble Benglas sisters who need help NOW. We have until Wednesday evening to save them, or they will die. Not be "Put to Sleep" or "Euthanized". They will die. They are healthy, later generation, no behavioral problems. None of this is their fault.
Ohio are you there? Anyone near enough to make it?
All you need to foster these kitties is a room, anywhere. And a love of animals. No special experience.
You have heard me talk about Bengals, and the problems with Lear and Magic, and you have also heard me say that most Bengals are wonderful loving kitties. These girls are later generation, with NO problems. Magic and Lear are early generation, who came with a LOT of problems. There girls are very, very adoptable, but what they need NOW is a foster home who can take them until we can get them to a current foster, or to stay with you until we find them a home.
They have no time.
I can't make it in time. And I have no more rooms.
Help them and I will owe you a Favor.
A Really. Big. Favor.

I have a situation in which I need a foster home for two bengal sisters in Cleveland, OH NOW. Due to a domestic problem, hospitalization, divorce, and now a move, the girls have no home. I have until tomorrow evening or they will be euthanized. I have no foster homes in OH. Please crosspost any way you can and keep fingers and toes crossed for the girls.
If you can help, please email or call me.
Thanks, Janet

Q, Janet, you know a lot of us aren't near enough to offer a home - but would $$$ help - maybe to buy a little more time by boarding them at a vet or cattery for a short while?
I RT your Tweets and blogged about this, linking to your page. Hopefully, something good will come of it. *fingers crossed*
I'm with Marjorie, not near enough or with room enough on such short notice, but if there's a way to board them somewhere, I would gladly Paypal or otherwise send some money to help out.
Marjorie, thanks but save donations for a major problem. I'm sure we will get this one under control. Lots and lots of people now know about it and I'm sure we'll have someone pop up to help. If not then yes, I'll board them until I can get them moved.
That is dramatic. I hope we can find someone...
Friend of mine who used to live in Cleveland is getting the word out to local friends, she thinks maybe there's someone out there who could help. I'm off to work now, but I hope so much they'll be safe when I get back.
Re-tweeted with fingers firmly crossed.
I wish I could help more; I'm posting this on my own blog and mentioning it on Facebook and Twitter even though I don't use Twitter these days - hoping someone, anywhere, will see it and do something more than I can.
RTing and will post on Facebook.
i ave retweeted. a bunch of my highschool peeps are on my facebook, so it's posted there as well. fingers crossed.
I don't live anywhere near, but retweeted, and hoping a friend near Cincy will see and RT it also. *crossing fingers too*
Bless you all!
Couple leads and we are working at it. The RT and posting is what is going to save these kitties.
The domestic problem, and hospital was the husband put his wife there, and now she, smart women, is out of there and safe, but can't take the cats....
Keep the wishes going....
Posted on my facebook, as well. Makes me sad that the chaos we humans create in our lives have such impact on beloved pets. Sending healing wishes for all involved. And so pleased to hear there are hopeful possibilities.
Would it offend any Fiends if I said that the fact that animals are so often needlessly "put to sleep" (cough, murdered, cough) really pisses me off? I'm thinking the answer is no?
I linked to this post on my Facebook page. Wish I knew anyone in the area.
If someone can take them overnight and someone else (with in a 12 hour drive) can take them after that, I am happy to do a good amount of driving.
Oh, god, this breaks my heart! I would love two Bengals, but we just moved into a tiny camper, a pop-up, and we're traveling across country with FOUR CATS already! (In a tiny camper smaller than one room. Smaller than a hallway, really.) I'm so, so, so sorry. And I would LOVE two beautiful Bengals!
I'll pass it on, though!
Poor lady, poor cats! I am bout to post to FB LJ and Dreamwidth.
I think we might be able to take them (foster them, at least, until we know if Dan's allergic), if we can get some help getting them here.
What's Janet's email addy? I'm seriously phone phobic.
I posted on my facebook and RT'd. Hopefully you find someone - I would take them, but I'm still at home and my parents wouldn't take kindly to me coming home with two cats...
Data, please e-mail Janet at:
bengalgirl2@yahoo.com
I'll let her know you are writing. You won't regret this.
You can copy me too on fabulouslorraine at gmail dot com.
I am hopeing so hard.
Have we had any update? As soon as I saw Janet's post I checked the mileage from here but hoping someone a lot closer and less crowded right now could take them. Especially with Sakura needing more settling time. I Twittered you earlier Lorraine though you probably beat me to it Janet. Always here to help however I can.
Datagoddess and Janet are talking right now....
May need driving help...Will let you know.
Very much hoping this works. I will cry again if it does.
I posted a sister post to this one ohn my Xanga, FYI. Also, shortly after my post, a friend of mine who is travelling cross country let me know that he knows a woman who runs a shelter near Cinncinati who would contact the info provided on your post here. Hopefully something will come of it.
I have my fingers crossed!
Trying to keep up, and hoping Bengals find home.
We're doing good. They are NOT going to be killed, which is good news.
Bengal Rescue, and myself will not let that happen. If nothing else can happen, we will get them boarded.
DataGoddess is talking to Janet, tho she lives a bit farther away than is easy, and all of you have done what we needed, which is get the word out.
On a happier note, tomorrow, I am doing a blog about My Eyeball! Complete with pictures!
(And I MEAN my Eyeball)
How's that for something new, eh?
*squee* that there is hope for kitties. really sad about the circustances. sending vibes to the hospitalized woman as well as the kitties. seems much love is necessary that way.
and *squick* about eyeballs. tanks for the warning.
tomorrow train!
Well, glad SOMEONE is excited about My Eyeball. It''s not a GROSS picture, kind of looks like Jupiter.
Really had a fine time at the X-ray Eye Clinic today, those people can party.
I am on tenterhooks. Can't wait for eyeball bits. I mean the telling of the eyeball bits. Oh you know...
Data, I have my fingers crossed! (And I'm talking to my husband about fostering, right after I post this. I dunno if I can stand feeling so helpless during another one of these calls to action.)
BUT, it's a domestic violence situation? There's a shelter in Cleveland that fosters animals who belong to victims of domestic abuse (I happened across it while looking up something else a couple weeks ago and remembered it because I thought it was such a valuable service). It's called SAFE: Safety for Animals and Families in Emergencies. Their website is http://www.safe.cuyahogacounty.us/. Has anyone tried them, or are they full? Or is the woman pretty sure she will not be able to be re-united with her girls later? It's another window, so I thought I'd be sure to mention it.
Possible SOS Bengal Success! We have a really good Cleveland lead!
We will find out tomorrow for certain, send some thought out there to the nice lady!
Katie, I was wondering about that, too. It seems like adding injury to injury to make an abuse victim give up pets to get herself safe. Just when one really needs some love.
Sometime life just sucks. I hope the lady and her kitties come out of this happier and safer.
Great! Hope all works out. And we do need to see The Eyeball, of course.
I have to say I laughed out loud reading the Saga of The Kitchen Tree. It's like a Chinese puzzle, organizing. I find sometimes when I want to move one small thing the whole house gets trashed. Life is weird, innit?
We REALLY need foster homes all over. WI MN IN IL MI OH....
If you were even thinking about helping or taking these kitties, please, sign up, and then the next time, we will have the care in place.
I know, she should not have had to give up her cats. We don't know the full story, but at least she is alive and safe now.
I'm in Canton. evaza@yahoo.com
If you can't find anyone by noon tomorrow, I'll come up and get them. I won't be able to keep them forever - I have five of my own.
But they won't be homeless, and your friend won't have to worry about them being in a bad situation.
Ellen
Luck! to the housing / rescuing / non-killing of these two Bengal girls.
And what Fluffy said - hope for better days for them and their lady, forthwith.
Eyeball pics iz cool.
Thank you E!
We do have a possible that is looking REALLY good, fingers crossed!!!!!!
It turns out I can't foster right now no matter how much I want to: it's currently illegal to have a Bengal in Iowa. It was a clause in a "dangerous wild animal" bill, supposed to stop people keeping wild animals as pets, but also exempts descendants of domestic cross breeds. There's a proposed amendment, but it was introduced in March and is sitting in committee. Interesting.
i didn't tick the box when I first commented so have not been seeing the updates... so glad that there are leads and a hopeful place.
Eyeballs?? Hope this doesn't mean you've been having any eye-trouble, Q.
BTW, what's the situation with Cabal & his scan - did i miss that happening, or is it waiting until Boss is home?
So many questions..
Like Marjorie, I didn't manage a ticky box yesterday. Glad to hear all is looking good.
Glad things are looking hopeful.
And hoping the eyeball is not causing you pain.
Good to hear! Really hope the lead works out. Everything crossed.
Eye yi yi! You've got a sick eyeball? :(
New post is up.
Think you will like it.
