Before, Since You Will No Doubt Be Asking...

I know how you are, and I know you want BEFORE pictures, so here they are! Soon I will be changing everything, it being spring and all. Things need to be different, they need to be CLEAN, floors (I am told) need waxing, and I need a really good place to hang my new Kelli Bickman Bengal Painting.

(Look! In the cat bed on the table!! It's Vampire Candy Corn, in repose!)

So we re-do the first floor. These first two pictures are of the current dinning room, which will, at the end of this project, become the living room. The bath tub may possibly not be part of the things that get moved.

The coffee table at the end of the big table, near the bath tub is not there as part of a design, but something that came out of the Sun Room when I re-did that a couple weeks ago. Not sure WHERE it will go, but am suspecting the porch.

The Piano and the Organ are also staying where they currently are. I know how hard it was to GET them there. Ain't going anywhere. Plans of course, are subject to change without notice.

Writing this, I am kind of thinking the Bath Tub may have to move too. The Dinning Room is going to be the Living Room, called the Romance Room in this household, and WHO has a bath tub in their Romance Room??? A NON-WORKING one, folks.

The coffee table fish tank is going to get some new FISH. Big ones. And a filter. There are two fish in it, that seem to do just fine, swimming around, having the odd meal when I remember to flake them. They may not enjoy their new friends and filter. And they might welcome the change. We will see...

The big purple carpet is moving too. I have this great wood laminate floor and I have never seen it, as the big purple carpet is all over it. I shall use it for sliding. In practice for my new soon to be sport of choice, curling.

The Bengals are NOT going to like the change. They don't approve at all. Magic may approve, that purple door in the corner leads to his room, and he is getting a Scream Door, so he can look out and be more a part of things.

Mim is a very laid back Bengal, she doesn't mind, but Freaky Venus, the silver one, is another matter. Venus does not WANT Magic to be a part of things, or even here. Both of them chase Magic when I let them into his room or porch, the later Generation Bengals don't like the Early Generation ones, apparently they smell WRONG.

(well, he is HALF Leopard. As a Domestic cat, even a Bengal, I might have issues too)

We shall see.

Lots of experiments. Trying some new things. Might work. Might not. Be fun tho...

Won't be dull!

Love and Change,
Lorraine

put little waxing pads on the bengals, wood floor issue solved, lol.

Personally, I think a bathtub has the potentially to be very romantic... admittedly, though, that would be a working one. Must think on this. That requires a brain, right? Dang.

There you go again, creating adventures right at home!

I would have thought they would both be all right with Magic now but I suppose I am not one to judge a Bengal ...

Suddenly I feel that my apartment needs a personality.

And once again, I stand (well, sit) in awe of your productivity.

Did you miss us? Somehow I didn't ticky on the last one, and then ... I got de-fabbed for a week or something *sniff*

I can't wait to see the after! I'm definitely one of those who wants the before!

Guess who is SIX WEEKS OLD today!?!? Guess who is getting spayed TOMORROW (shhhhhh - she doesn't know yet!)

That's right - the fabulous Zoraline and Ziggy!

Ziggy is a big(ger) boy now, and really WANTS to take down his mama but really, he can't.

Also, if you like those nature shows where they have the trap-door spiders who show up from under a trap door to pounce their prey... you might like to see my trap door kitten!

LOTS more pics and videos at both sites - enjoy!

I think the bengals need a working tub in the Romance Room...

At 17:09 Blogger ariandalen said...

Hope you have a wonderful ride!

At 17:28 Blogger Uisge said...

Oooo...bet they'd love a working tub in the RR. Wonder if they'd like waterslides?

At 18:12 Blogger Precision Grace said...

Oooh I love before and afters.

Maybe the bathtub can go in Magic's room. Cats love sitting in empty bathtubs (or is that just my Tonks?)

I'm also hoping we get some stories of further attempts to integrate the Bengal Tree of Cats. (have the Royals mixed with Magic or Mim and Venus yet?)

Z & Z are adorable. Sending love to poor Zoraline for tomorrow, hope it's not too traumatic for her (wish I could be there to hold her paw)

Wish I could join the spring renovations but money doesn't grow on trees sadly. However, twigs do grow on trees! Yay. So I did some pruning today and made a lovely (to me) winter bouquet. here

I am having Spooky House envy...and also loving the idea of any cat with waxing pads on their paws.

At 18:34 Blogger Zoe Sotet Art Studio said...

have you considered turning the bathtub into a glass topped coffee table?

At 20:09 Blogger Chantrelle said...

Loving the the Spooky house revamp of 2010.

Spent the day at ben's school. Just trying to catch up!

At 20:25 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Well, I put the bath tub in the dinning room and stuck a SKellie in it, that's about as creative as I have gotten. My builder tho keeps threatening to turn it into a fountain, kid you not, which could be cool.

Coffee table would be cool, but I already have a fish tank that is a coffee table, and a coffee table that turns into a desk...

It's far easier, Beez, creating Adventures at home than it is going OUT to find them.

Nice ride. Spring is here. They have the fever. Like riding a CATAPULT! Horsies took OFF on me.I know where the wild things ARE!!!!!!!!!!!

Doofas Dumb Butt (uh, my horse Dim) managed to stomp my little footie too. CLUMSY!!!!!!!

What else? I must come back. Need DINNER!

At 20:26 Blogger Dragonsally said...

ouch, poor toe. Don't suppose your riding boots have steel capped toes?

VAMPIRE CANDY CORN!!!!!!!!

My ears keep popping, because of my sickness. :(

Something happened today that was hilarious and scary and made me cry from laughing too hard.

One of the random wasps that keep showing up in my apartment crawled into a glass of water, so I grabbed a plate and put it on top of it. Then, the wasp fell into the water, so I felt guilty and took it out and put it on a piece of paper, then deposited it in the hall, thinking that there are so many workers out there during the day that someone would see it and spray it with something, but I wouldn't know about it, so I wouldn't feel guilty. (This is the level of thinking I enjoy when I'm sick and might have a fever and can't hear because my ears are all plugged up.)

I had to go to class today, so I opened my door to leave, and the wasp was marching in front of my door on the ground! So, using my marvel of thinking skills, I kicked it. It disappeared. I closed the door behind me and went to lock it, and the wasp was crawling on the lock!

I hit the wasp with my purse. It did not budge.

I hit the wasp with my keys. It did not budge.

I hit the wasp with my purse again.

It did not budge!

I hit the wasp with my keys again. (By this time I was going to be late for class, and I was doubled over laughing.)

This time, the wasp disappeared again. I checked my keys and purse and sleeves and pants and shoes to make sure the wasp didn't land on me, then I chuckled and locked the door.

I walked down to the office to hand them my rent check, and I told them about how there was a wasp in the hall that they might want to look out for. Then, I ran my fingers through my hair.

The wasp was in my hair!

It flew away across the room while the ladies in the office screamed in horror. I looked around, mumbled something about being late for class, then I said, "I was never here!"

Then, I ran to my car. Behind me, I could hear the lady who showed me my apartment yelling, "Wendy!!!!!!!"

At 21:47 Blogger Dragonsally said...

How the heck did you not get bitten Wendy? That is incredible (and I laughed until you said the wasp was in your hair)

At 21:57 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

I called my friend Jamie, and he said it's hard for wasps to sting you in a situation like that, but I do not believe him.

Happy home renewal, Lorraine.

It's being very spring-like here, too. We hear a lot more birdsong. There's lots of sun and longer days. Melting snow and ice. But I am not fooled: I am certain there are snowstorms yet to come.

Dear Siri - February is an outstanding month for firbdays, I'll concede. ;)

I think the bathtub in the romance room would be awesome. Fill it with different size pillows and soft blankets it would be Legen-wait for it-DARY!

At 22:57 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

I bet Skellie would really appreciate soft pillows and blankets.

Tonight, I really am going to go to sleep early. And, not say I'm going to sleep early and then stay up until 2 a.m. watching stupid Youtube videos and Eddie Izzard on Netflix.

At 22:59 Blogger Kimberly said...

I'm not sure ... but is the cutest video of Ziggy yet or just in the top 5? Seriously - the boy loves him some heater vent! Watch til the end - he only gets cuter!

Crikey that just killed me!

At 23:00 Blogger Chantrelle said...

Wendy, that's been me the last 3 nights! OK, off to bed....right after i check this one thing.....2 hours later....then have to drag myself out of bed to get ben to school!

I'm going to have a cup o' tea, watch some telly and head to bed by 10pm....i am! AFP isn't webcasting tonight until 1:30am our time so i can't get sucked into that this time!

At 00:11 Blogger spacedlaw said...

The Bengals might not like having slippery floors. Or perhaps they will. I am thinking of fish: don't get too many or too big. Fish need space to swim along and it the place get crowded (it is not that big) tragedy might happen (fish will kill each others yelling "there can be only one" and stuff like this).

Thank you for your help!

At 08:17 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Ziggy is pretty darn cute! Pretty darn alive too, Kimberly, thanks to you...

Today is the moving around day. I worry as Venus will lose her sleeping place on top of halloween town, which she isn't going to like.

Heck, she won't like ANY of this, why am I worried.

My store is having a storewide sale this morning with, and I quote: "Meat prices so freaken low we can't tell you"

I feel it is my duty to attend. Anyone advertising "Freaken low" prices, well, it's getting me to come buy groceries in the early morning.

At 08:21 Blogger vampi said...

that does sound like a quality store :D

At 08:27 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

My store had a sale on fatty chicken leg quarters at $4.60 for 10 lbs. I'm almost finished with my fatty chicken, and I made home made schmaltz (almost like butter, except made with chicken fat ad onions).

The same store is now having a 10 for $10 sale, so I've managed to buy somewhere around 1- 2 weeks worth of groceries for $24. This includes 10 lbs of tomatoes for $10, which is what I'm really in it for. (You can mix and match and buy less than 10 items and still have what you buy cost a dollar, so it's really a dollar sale.)

At 09:34 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Disssapointed in this FEAKEN low price sale.

Sure If you eat PIG or drink beer. Didn't really see any amazing deals, but then I was looking for produce, chicken, Turkey and steak. Pig, beer and canned things.

Love my town.

At 09:42 Blogger Chantrelle said...

You've got your new town slogan.

"Insert-town-name-here: Pig, beer and canned things"

Off to take ben to school....Good Morning!!!

At 09:44 Blogger Phiala said...

Well, I like pig and beer, but I can see how you might be less than thrilled. They can keep the canned things...

I know lots of you are Firefly fans - you must listen to this. Marian Call doing an expanded version of the theme song.

That bright thing is outside again today... two days in a row? I'm perplexed.

Update: I am FINALLY receiving my financial aid.

Also, it feels like something is trying to crawl out of my brain, through my sinuses, to escape into the real world.

At 16:58 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Wendy YAH
Grace - I think you were being told the box was perfect as it was.
I think I might just go and watch some Firefly now...

Funny story Wendy! (Also I got closer to getting my financial aid today too!)

Q -- can't wait to see the after photos for spooky house. Need any help? (she asks at the end of the day of moving stuff).

Ziggy. Damn I love that kitten. So wish I could have him, but I can't.
