What I Learned About FIT This Month...

I am a happy, happy women! I think I have learned the Real True Cannot Fail Guaranteed Method to getting FIT!!!!

First month FIT total:

-10lbs

Neck: -1/4
Chest: -1 1/2
Arm: -1/2
Waist: no change
Hips: - 1 1/2
Thigh: - 1 3/4
Calve: No change
Abs: -1/2

Total: -5.75 inches lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am SO happy, and feel so great!!!!!! Apparently, my madcap idea of eating right and going to the gym every day seems to be working!

Here are some things I have learned this month, if you would like to try my New Improved Miricle FIT Plan:

Eat breakfast. Not easy, but do it.

Small meals. Lot's of 'em.

Butter is not your friend, unless you have far more control than I do.

If you drink it, it mostly should be water.

If it's a vegatable or fruit, eat as much as you want. If it's a grain, it should be whole. If it's fats, cheese or meat, size matters.

If you stock your cupboards and freezer with Healthy Stuff that you can make EASILY when you crawl home, you will eat it, because anything else is simply too much work to contemplate.

If you are so tired you cannot move at the end of the day, you will not eat your house down when you get home. And you will SLEEP. All night. Instantly.

It is better to be the fattest person in ZUMBA class than the fat chick in the Donut aisle.

Class is only an hour. All you have to do is SHOW UP. Someone else decides all the rest. It's only an hour.

You will start to feel Very Powerful after about 2 weeks. Before that, you will feel Very Sore. Ok, after that, you still feel Very Sore, but you now love that feeling.

You will have Amazing Super Power Energy. I don't know why this is, I just feel it.

Go at your own pace, what works for someone else, might not work for you. I have a body that feels really good when it's working out, I grew up an athlete. 1-2 hours a day, 6 days a week feels NORMAL. I do ZUMBA, Yoga, Evil Step Class, Weights and Ride Horses. I try for 2 a day. But that's me. I love this stuff.

The important thing is to have fun.

No, seriously. Have Fun.

How else is this going to work?

Love and FIT,
Lorraine

Go you!

Having walked 8,2 km (with a 12% steepness) I can certify that this stuff is making you sleep. it's only 20:32 and my eyes are closing already...

Yay fit you!

YES!!! Good News!

So far, I'm doing Evil Step Class twice a week, Yoga once a week. They are three days in a row (M-W) and by Friday my body is asking for MORE - need to find something on Friday/Saturday.

I have yet to put the food part in place, but am at least no longer Unconsciously Eating. As in: "I see and recognize this plate of pasta going into my body." I'm trying to not eat after 10pm.

I have lost 2 - 6 pounds, depending on the day and the time of day I look at the scale. I think the measurements are a better way to track. Will purchase a measuring tape while out today.

I feel better, stronger, and more optimistic. And isn't that what it's all about?

Thanks for sharing this and inspiring me to do the same.

WOW! That is amazing!! I'm so proud of you! I don't do measurments but even with my kicked up PT I only managed to loose 2 to 3 pounds this month. Kinda pissed me off.

The secret is out! This eat less, eat well, and move more gimmick is the discovery of the century!

My weigh-in is today too. I feel confident about it. I've been eating better. Moving more still an issue though. I've never been an active person. Still inspired as all get out by your example, but in baby steps.

Thanks, my Fiends! This is really important to me, and I am darn proud about how I am working my ASS off.

Trying to decide what to wear to GAGA tonight. My revolving plant dress is hard to drive in, and the Bengals popped my Bubble dress. I have no empty coke cans for a hair do....

What's a girl to DO????

I don't mean to pick nits here, but by my calculations, you've lost 6 inches, not 5.75.

Sheesh.

(and you are probably already gone - Gaga one might say.)

(Oh, I am the funny one.)

Have fun at Gaga tonight!

I don't want to jinx anything, but I would really love some positive energy in the direction of my husband getting a job offer tomorrow. It would mean a move for us, hopefully into a bigger house, which we desperately need. But more importantly it will mean a salary that will keep us eating and being able to DO things for our kids.

We used to do things for them all the time, and he has been hit with no pay raises, not even cost of living pay raises for 4 years now, AND he has been furloughed for three years, which means no raises AND a pay cut. To say the least life has become...hard. We need this so badly, and if you wonderful Fiends could send positive energy that way, I would greatly appreciate it.

At 23:03 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Consider it done Cecily. I really hope he gets the offer.

At 23:47 Blogger ariandalen said...

Done, Cecily!

Way to go, Ms. Fabulous! Keep up the good work. :)

That is so awesome lorraine!!! Ben starts school next week which means that my tuesdays and thursdays are completely open since I don't drive carpool those days. I am bound and determined to work out and do yoga on both of those days. My body hurts...in a bad way...i keep going to rolfing and sometimes massage but it will never be fixed if i'm not *proactive* instead of *reactive*. Thanks for the inspiration!

And I hope Gaga was fun!!!

At 01:17 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

GAGA was serious all kinds of fun! Best Monster puppet ever! I kind of need it to come and live with me. Great dancers too!

Up Next: The Fair. (Kind of all too soon, I am thinking sleep)

At 05:41 Blogger Beez said...

Awesome! (that word may be over used, but it's completely the right one for this).

I also think the "fat chick in the doughnut aisle" isperfect.

Hope Gaga was a blast.

Yay for feeling FIT and powerful!

I've been feeling sexier lately, and my pants are definitely feeling much roomier right now.

Time to whoosh off to work and school. I think I walk somewhere near a mile at school every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Hurrah for the FIT!

am working on a brochure for our local hospital Wellness Center and they now offer Zumba and something called Les Mills Body Press & Body Flow. You've got me intrigued enough to enquire about membership dues! Just don't feel my arthritic ankle would be up to Zumba...think i'll try the Body Fit & Flow classes they sound low impact.

See you're being an inspiration to couch potatoes world wide! ^_^

Mr Cuddles aka King Lear the Huge enjoys waking me at 6 with Cuddles now. As I generally get up then, this is fine.

Not so much today, I got rather irritated. Felt bad about it, but I went to bed at 2. TOLD him I was sleeping in, not sure where the problem is..

I am going t get some COFFEE on the way to the fair!

At 10:07 Blogger One Sock Short said...

Watch out, drink coffee too often and it will cease to pack a wallop for you. But going fairing on 4 hours sleep certainly calls for it.

Enjoy the fair! Looking forward to fairing vicariously with you.

monster puppet, monster costumes.
i really liked the various harps and pianos, especially that one pretty hot piano. i was very impressed with the boy behind me, there with his aunt. before the show started i asked him, if it was okay if he told me, how old he was. he very proudly told me he was 11 and absolutely mad about everything Gaga. he sang every song that he knew word-for-word at the top of his lungs. i just wanted to pinch his cheeks.

Loved the violin too!

She does talk a lot, and needs to remember over half her fans are no longer dealing with "I was picked on in high school" and ARE themselves, and happy with it.

Also, not sure where her "I prefer bullshit to truth" monologue is coming from.

Not sure the Monster Ball story quite worked either..

But I sure did love the show, and she can ROCK. Powerful performer. Wish she's had another 5 years on the bottom, learning audience, and being hungry tho...

At 10:44 Blogger Pi R Squared said...

Wow Lorraine! You're "da bomb!" Your FIT is shining through! Keep up the awesome work and attitude!

Cecily, I'm wishing your husband luck today! (Crossed fingers, good thoughts!)

At 10:50 Blogger Jess said...

I have no plans to see Gaga live, but I have seen some very early-hungry performances on the Youtubes, and they are Something Else.

Hmm. Half of America prefers bullshit to truth. Not sure she's hit on anything original.

At 11:27 Blogger Na said...

the violin, mais oui!

i was most impressed with the band, the singing, the dancing. the Show and the Costumes were entertaining on top of that. but nodding in agreement, Fablor, on your other notes, and point to Jess. ;) yeah, she loses me with the "little monster" thing, when i and i'd guess that at least half the audience are her age or (a good bit) older, and (more or less) fine with ourselves. and if i am a fan of anything, i am a big fan of truth, esp. truth with tact when one can manage it. and the idea of the monster ball i liked, but agree it did seem rough, as though they forgot about it periodically, so i forgot about it until they mentioned it again.

urgh. my monsters are at school now. all day, both of them! it's kinda freakin' me out, only an hour and a half in. :P

At 12:04 Blogger Cecily said...

OK, so who's gonna help me pack?

:-D He got the offer! And it's a really good one! So off to Virginia we go! They want him to start Sept. 27th, and the commute from here to there is hell, so we want to move ASAP.

*sigh of relief*

At 12:05 Blogger Phiala said...

Hooray!

Excellent News Cecily!

At 12:12 Blogger Kitty Cat said...

SO glad you got to come to the show, Quichelala.
and seeing you in person made me appreciate the FIT training--go on with your shrinky self.

I am in hotel in Milwaukee, and going to take a bath, tackle some "homework" then go meet some of the KISS tour crew--they have a day off here as well--

Cecily, hope your man gets the prize his eye is on
and Jess, girl, you are right on about the nothing original...wish she could refocus a bit.

meanwhile, headlines tell me "war is over", i know that is not as simple as all that, but a step in the right direction, i was on tour with Tori when war began, so so long ago.
xoxo

At 17:37 Blogger Jane said...

Cecily! Great news! Where in VA? I live in NC, right in the middle of the state in Oak Ridge.

Hope the fair is/was fun.

At 18:06 Blogger Pi R Squared said...

At 19:01 Blogger Cecily said...

At 19:14 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Wonderful news Cecily, doing happy dance for you too.

At 00:42 Blogger ariandalen said...

Yay! Glad you and yours are moving to a better situation, Cecily! :)

You might want to wait until next week to move, though. Earl is an awful big boy to move, or even look at houses, in.

At 07:31 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Morning Fiends!

I don't THINK Earl will get as far as Minnesota. We don't get MANY hurricanes.

Vin's right there tho, who else? I think my Dad is too.

At 10:19 Blogger LihuaEmilyP said...

We're supposed to get hit in RI.

At 10:26 Blogger Phiala said...

Emily, hopefully not too bad?

The forecasts I see have you getting the edges (bad enough with a storm this size), Cape Cod getting hammered, but the main body staying offshore until landfall in Canada. By which time it will have lost a lot of oomph. I hope.

Wet, windy, but not awful, I think.

Do you like hurricanes or no? I always enjoyed them, except for the tree on top of the house during Fran in 1996.

Now I live far enough inland that sometimes we get rain, but no storm.

At 10:42 Blogger vampi said...

hooray for good job find!

now i hope i can find a job for a company i respect.

At 14:20 Blogger ariandalen said...

Actually, Ms. Fabulous, I was referring to Cecily and family moving to Virginia.

My Dad was a storm trooper, an insurance claims adjuster that worked catastrophic, and lesser, storms. He spent a lot of time in the Carolinas working storms, starting with Hugo, and on up to Isabel. Damage from Isabel was the last storm he worked, and he didn't finish that.

At 14:24 Blogger Cecily said...

I think we will be moving closer to the end of October. Which is good 'cause there is a lot of packing and work that needs to be done to make our house sellable.

Earl, seems to be changing trajectory a lot. I don't think it will be much here. Though I could go for a big storm! I do loves them so. The cats and kids, not so much.

At 16:25 Blogger LihuaEmilyP said...

I don't much like hurricanes, as much as I like thunderstorms. I like snow, too. Hurricanes, not very much ... and since it's such a fast-moving storm, we should be okay.

At 16:34 Blogger Dragonsally said...

I hope that all Fiends in the path of nasty storm are okay...

At 19:22 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

New blog is not up. I know all the words, it's just the order they go in is eluding me.

Tell us about the fully air-conditioned haunted house, and the demon chicken.

At 19:38 Blogger Ticia said...

I got nothin.

I just looked at my screen for 5 minutes... No lightning struck...

Dogs, horsies, kitties, Kittys, food, fair, fair food, OctoCon (is that what it's called? I can't remember)...

Here's a general question though... How's your arm/shoulder with all the Fit? And are you getting regular massages to help with all the body work?

At 19:39 Blogger One Sock Short said...

You can't be boring. It's just not possible.

Anything about the Fair would be fun. I enjoyed the pics you and Birdchick tweeted. I miss going to the Fair.
