Merry Merry To You Today.....

Help! I'm about to fall into a coma!

Well, not really but I just heard it on the Twilight Zone and it sounded good. Actually, to speak the truth: I am doing quite well, and am very happy just at the moment, down here in Indy with my Derby Family for the weekend. That's Joan of Dark with Cabal in the picture, but lest there be any confusion, Cabal is not here, I am just very limited in the picture option area and that was the one Dark here liked best. So there you have it.

As lovely as hanging here, in my jammies, with my peeps at, watching Twilight Zones at 4 in the afternoon is I have to say I do wish I could have brought the Bengals alone. Not practical I do admit, but I can only imagine what's going on at home.

Especially last night, that being Christmas Eve. I do believe there are stories that animals can talk on Christmas Eve and if any animals were going to pull it off, I am quite sure it would be my Bengals....

They sat, together that night, in the dark, the glooming, watching, listening. And they were ready....

Mim: When shall we three meet again....

Venus: Oh shut up already with that.

Magic: I slllliinnkkk I hhhuuntttsssss foooooodddddd wwwhhhaaaat?

Venus: WTF?

Mim: He talks like that. For reals. And anyway, there are five of us.

Venus: WTF???

Little Queen Mab: (LQM) Greetings. We are truly amongst You.

King Lear The Huge: (KLTH) Uh-huh. Is that food?? I'm rather peckish.

Venus: You suck, we hate you why are you here and anyway did I mention you suck?

LQM: We understand your feelings and we do not normally walk amongst you, but this Night of Nights, we are as one.

Venus: The hell you say! You suck!

Mim: That ain't as one.

KLTH: One won't be enough, I'm REALLY rather hungry...

LQM: I understand your feelings but amongst us here we should....

Venus: Stop with the AMONGST already!!!!!!! YOU SUCK!!!!!

Magic: Rrruunnn hiiiidddeee fooooddddd yyyooowwwllll......

Mim: Gods he's odd. Look, you lot, knock it off. We have important business to discuss.

Venus: Who put you in charge? You suck!

LQM: Madame Mim, of what do you speak, here amongst us?

KLTH: I. Need. Food.

Magic: MMmmmeeeewwwwww beeed slleeeeppp fooooddd????

(Venus, Mim, LQM, KLTH: Look at Magic)

Mim: SHE is not here.

LQM: No. SHE has gone away, whither we know not where.

Venus: WTF does that mean??

KLTH: She took the food?

Magic: Weee wannnttss wwhhhaaaaa...

ALL except Magic: SHUT THE HELL UP!

Mim: Make sense of an F1, not in this lifetime.

KLTH: Good thing we get nine. Hope the food is better than this one.....

Venus: You all suck!

LQM: SHE will come home. We will wait. We will be here.

Mim: I believe in her.

KLTH: She will bring steak!

Magic: SSShhhhheeeeeeee!!!!!!!

Venus: She. Will. Pay.

And so it went, that Christmas Eve, with the Bengals talking, working things out, enjoying the season and being together...

As I am now, and I hope that you are doing....

Love and Holiday,
Lorraine

Lovely! The Huge Abbessinian says things like 'we must teach these people to obey' while the Bengal baby says 'what? who? where? Is there any food left?' and the HA sighs and realises he can expect no help from her. Merry Christmas to you, and I hope you enjoy the Dr. Who Christmas special this year!

You know actually maybe it is time to sleep.

Merry Christmas!

I think you should plant a "nanny cam" next time you leave so that you can document these meetings "amongst" the bengals.

Happy Merry to all and to all a good night!

I abandoned my kitties to visit family yesterday and I know what their comments were when we finally came back home in the evening. So much abuse I got. Food, bad weather (from the two that were outside), boredom (from the two that were inside), food, lack of cuddles and general complaints. We sucked big time. I dare not tell them we are going out for lunch again today...
Merry Boxing Day! Or Santo Stefano as they say here.

hilarious! i just popped online to check email, and stop by here. now trying not to laugh too hard, as my guy is snoozing on the couch, and he did all the cooking and such, so i reckon it's kind to let him snooze on.

happy merry all. talked to most of our family at some point today, but otherwise have had a day of staying in and doing as little as necessary. most relaxing holiday we've had in ages.

At 01:16 Blogger Na said...

oops, it is Boxing Day now. my littlest was quite excited to read that on the calendar, though i think it's just because she can read it now. aren't we meant to do something charitable? it seems to be all about stores' sales, and i feel like maybe there ought to be some observance (other than of the Sleeping In, that is).

Greetings on Boxing Day! And thanks for the update on the Adventures of Five Bengals. Hilarious!

We are re-watching season one of 'Misfits,' which is brilliant. Yesterday we stayed in, read books and ate hot dogs for dinner. No snow here, but it's a bit cold.

Yesterday I read Charles De Lint's new book, 'The Painted Boy.' It was very good. So was Diane Duane's new one, 'Omnitopia Dawn.'

Vampi, I hope you feel better soon. And Jess, I now know what a Catbus looks like, even if I don't really understand it.

At 14:52 Blogger LihuaEmily said...

Lotsa snow and kind of bored but being bored is easier when you have all the snow outside. Plus I got a ton of writing done and I am almost finished with Moby Dick. That book is ... torture. But it's not a BAD book. Indeed, it is a very GOOD book. But it's still hard to choke down.

i love the tales o kitties

At 23:03 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

I think my kitties' conversations when I'm gone go something like this:

Serious Black: I love you. Let's cuddle.

Kitty: No. If you come near me, I will claw our your eyes.

Serious Black: But I love you. See? I'm inching closer to you. You know you want to cuddle.

Kitty. No! Stay away from me!

Serious: I'm not coming to cuddle with you at all. (inching closer)

Kitty: I said stay away!

Serious: See? It's okay. I'm grooming you.

Kitty: OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD GET OFF OF ME YOU'RE CHEWING ON MY EAR! YOU'RE GROSS! GET AWAY! (runs away)

Serious: Why won't anyone love me? :(

(This is also their usual conversation when I am here.)

GOOD MORNING!!!!!

Sitting in the coffee shop. I love this place. Joan of Dark made breakfast. And she made coffee. Feeling a lot of love here.

Leaving is going to suck...

At 07:03 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Sleeping , are we?????

Not me, not with all this COFFEEE around!!!!

At 08:10 Blogger Marjorie said...

Not sleeping, but snoozing. I seem to have a mild case of Christmas crud, so while a small raiding party has left the house to go shopping, I went back to bed after breakfast.
But I have a nice warm cat, and people have been bringing me random cups of tea, so it's not bad.

At 09:01 Blogger Cecily said...

At 12:34 Anonymous Wendy Withers said...

A small case of creeping crud and a visit from my monthly friend came at once, but I only have a half day today. So, I woke up at 9, watched an episode of Sons of Anarchy, then went back to sleep until noon. These were some very good decisions for me.

At 14:49 Blogger AletaMay said...

Hi fiends! Seems Q has had a real christmas holiday. Yay! Tonight my bffs and I are having a slumber party. We always do a holiday thing but this is the first overnight. We will drink and play board games and eat and do some sort of scrapbook project. We are taking over my brother's house as they are with one of there kids in warmer-than-here California. We'll try not to trash it too much.

At 20:02 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Home. Bengals. Nice. Dead. Ack. Home.

Up at 4:30 this morning to go to work with Madame Dark, then to the airport, then to delayed, then home, quick stop at work, and off to the gym where Daisy had the great idea to do a double cardio of Zumba and Turbo.

It was a fine idea, but I think this day has killed me.

Be going to bed shortly.

Best idea yet.

Translation of Q-speak:

Hello lovely Fiends! I finally had a REAL CHRISTMAS,wore myself out with partying and COFFEE and decided to celebrate it further on my return by committing suicide-by-gym. I leave the Spooky House and all my monies for steak to the Bengals aka They Who Must Be Served.

At 22:35 Blogger LihuaEmily said...

GO TO BED, QUICHE! Don't go the same way I did and stay up doing stuff online. Don't take the same road I did! OMG it really is time for sleep, isn't it? DUDE ...

At 22:49 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Hi Fiends and Fearless but exhausted Leader.

I've just had a marathon shop at the post Christmas sales and am now soooo sore and tired. Wasn't until I just worked out I had actually been walking, with a short coffee break from 10.30am to 3pm that my floppy body made sense. Snagged some good bargains though! Have flashing glasses for my niece and I to drink from on NYE. Mine will have pretend alcohol in it, but will look pretty.
Now I am home watching the cricket (shhhh Marjorie and Hellie, no snide comments please)

Ahhhh, coffee. Me. Drink.

At 22:50 Blogger Dragonsally said...

arghhhh, that was meant to say marathon shop with my best friend...

Happy Christmas past to all of you. I got the cold my DD brought home from college*....and am just recovering, but has a lovely time giving people clothes and books and laying about. (*totally my own fault: do not eat your daughter's ice cream with her spoon when she is sick.) You'd think I'd know better.

Now must go to bed. Cold is better but voice has taken a trip to somewhere else. Maybe the cat has it.

At 05:31 Blogger Jess said...

I have coffee. Chocolate orange blend. Very nice. And we're watching Takeshi's Castle, which I can't explain. Japanese thing a bit like Wipeout. Mad. You'd have to Google it. More adventure than that I can't deliver. London and Bill Bailey tomorrow, but that's tomorrow. Today, hrm, well, mmm. Yes. Hmm.

At 06:05 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

What Beez said, that's what I meant. Going to be a whole lot of suicide workouts going on, need to step up this game!!

Sure is easy to get up tho at 5:30 when one is sleeping before nine. Need to remember this.

Except for the dark bit. Don't like the dark.

I am back from the wilderness! There was no internet, but there were lots of cookies, and I wrote a fairly impressive number of words. Not going to get this project done by the end of the year, but it's going to be damn close.

you liked Black Swan, Sal? that's getting rave reviews hereabouts, awards nominations, etc, though i haven't a clue what it's about. yet. gotta google...

Hello people of yesterday. Oz is beautiful. Except for what some of you saw on twitter...the condo I booked was a scam. The "rental office" was a bottle shop in Bondi and the guy vanished. I payed through paypal so I should get the money back but we were hosed for accomodations. We were going to stay on our friends floor but instead we're biting the bullet, doubling what we're paying per night and staying the hotel we're in now just so we 1) have a bed, and 2) don't have to pack up and haul our stuff across town and back twice. Blargh. Frickin' internet bastards.

Anyway, I'm not dwelling. It's wonderful here.

The mango is UN-FRICKIN-BELIEVABLE!!

Sorry about the lodgings Chantrelle. Eek! :/

I also liked Tin Man. Near the end I thought it got a bit dodgy, but it was pretty enjoyable.

A few days ago, I decided to start living my New Year's resolutions, because why should I wait until the New Year to live the life I want?

I submitted an essay to a magazine, and I'm taking a page out of Quiche's book and started a FIT routine. Smaller steps at first, ones that I will enjoy and are free, namely DANCE PARTIES! Today I worked on Dance Part Jam video from Netflix. Also, I dance small bouts to industrial music and nerdcore rap.

It's dark now! We went walking in the spooooooooky fog, out on the little footpath near here that goes out into the fields. If you go far enough out all the town lights disappear, and the path looks like it goes on forever. And it's very quiet, like there's nothing around for miles. It was awesome. \o/

Happy new year fiends!

Happy New Year, fellow fiends!
I've only been in 2011 for 20 minutes or so, but it seems OK so far!

Thank you all for making 2010 much more interesting than it would otherwise have been, and may 2011 bring us all closer to achieving our dreams, and lots of fiendish fin along the way. x

Happy New Year dearhearts!

And especially to you, Lady High Empress.

Sorry the gig didn't go, but we DO want our Quichie and her NICE ASS to be with us for long and long and long.

Happy New Year! From THE FUTURE. Don't worry. You'll catch up.

Me and my Nice Ass are home safe. Not the Happy New Year I'd planned but I am not out driving on ice...Don't care, I shall ring in the New Year with bengals, who seem happy I am back.

Happy New Year All!

Happy New Year!!! NY with cats are the bestest!

Hope ya'll have a wonderful time and your path is sprinkled with stardust and your cats are hairball free and your asses are even more gorgeous!

PS.Q, I gotta ask, why is your Boss using a passport photo on his FB page? Can't figure it out..is it some sort of symbolism or something?

Happy New Year to all from the cold snowy and icy Midwest.

Good Night, Fiendom

Canceled gig? No wonder you were not tweeting the rock.
But The Bengals must be delighted to have someone to snuggle up too.

All the kitties slept with us last night, on account of the NY mayhem with fireworks. Once could not even turn around without finding a kitty in the way. My spine fells all crinkled.

And the year is not looking particularly new so far (I've always suspected this NY hype to be some sort of commercial scam).

Guests have gone and I just caught up with your gig news Q. Very glad you are home safe.

We are now enjoying some quiet. Mmmm, bliss.

Happy New Year's Morning to all my fiends!

Serious Black is trying to hypnotize me to stay in with his spooky yellow saucer eyes, but I say No, No, No!

I must go out and brave the 70 degree temperatures and light drizzle to go to work! Only two more working days at the retail job! Then Thursday I'm flying to Florida to visit family. When I get back, I'm turning in my paperwork for teaching at the community college. I hope everyone else is ready for a marvelous New Year! I love you all!

Hmm...apart from having my first ever taste of Kiri Bath (rice cooked in coconut milk, with palm sugar) just after midnight* on the 1st, and developing a rather unfortunate addiction to computer games**, 2011 is looking suspiciously like 2010 here too.

I hope the fiends in cold climates stay toasty, and fiends in damp places stay dry. (It's fine, but kind of windy here - my advice would be to brace yourself and bring ballast!)

*I was at a friend's place, and it a traditional celebratory dish in her family.

**I have made it outside though. I even made it all the way to the movie theatre.

2:45am is a very unfortunate time to be awake.

off to vacation. cruise with family, then more family time! what was i thinking...

Helloooo!

Internetting isn't happening much here but thought i'd pop in and say hello. We're off to the zoo today. Had a lovely time with friends at an Irish music session last night. 3 concertinas, 2 fiddles, uillean pipes and a whistle. WONDERFUL!! Thought of you Q! :)

Hello quiet fiends!

Has anyone else discovered Ravelry? I'm working on a creative project with someone who told me about the site.

2011 is still going well. Today at work everyone was grumpy. The Saints are VERY important here. When they lose, the whole city loses. Also, I am bummed because they played Tampa, so I cannot lord a win over my family when I visit on Thursday.

I am writing. I just finished Wuthering Heights. I have read it many times. Now I've moved on to one of Boss's books that I've had knocking around unread for a few months, part of my 2010 orgy of buying books when I did not have the time to read them.

I hope all of you fiends are having fun in Elevensies!

At 01:06 Blogger Dragonsally said...

*waves*

It HAS been very quiet here. I hope Fiends aren't snowed in!

I've 'been busy' recovering from NYE still.

At 03:50 Blogger Marjorie said...

I'm not snowed in. Yesterday was mostly making and driving home and some unpacking. Today I shall probably take down the Christmas tree, andtomorrow is back to work ..

At 07:48 Blogger Jane said...

Wendy, I'm Qitou on Ravelry.

At 07:56 Blogger Phiala said...

And I'm Phiala

At 09:42 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Take DOWN the Xmas tree???? Whoa, let's not be hasty about these things!

Well, everyone is def back at work today, judging from my email...

But I have coffee. Still cold, but at least there's coffee.

At 10:22 Blogger Marjorie said...

Well, I know it is a few days early, but still..

At 10:27 Blogger Jess said...

Heck, we never even put the tree up in the first place. Still debating whether or not we're going to bother with the twinkly outdoor wreath. If I put tat up now, it's likely to stay there till June.

At 10:28 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Not taking mine down. Ever. I like the little thing. It's, you know, cheery and all.

Working on a new blog post for you, my Fiends....

At 10:56 Blogger Na said...

i'm trying to get back into normal work mode. it's not taking quite yet. but i am back at my computer.

we are planning to put away holiday stuff today. but that's only if i scrounge up the spare energy. we do have some lights i leave up in the kitchen all year - quite cheery in the winter months.

At 11:03 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

New Happy New Year Post is UP!!!!

At 11:15 Blogger Phiala said...

The only decorations I put up were a string of lights and the received holiday cards.

The lights will probably stay up as long as it gets dark early. The cards usually stay up until birthday card season. The ones with family photos on them stay up indefinitely.

Hm. This didn't post minutes and minutes ago when it was supposed to.

And off to the new post!
