Magic Is Home!

Magic came home!!!!

I got smart this morning and put Venus and Mim out on the Scream Porch with NO BREAKFAST! Trust me, two starving Bengals locked out of the house are LOUD. Going to be real popular around here. Only took about ten minutes and he came running down the hill.

Brought Venus and Mim in, saying "Oh, dear Kitties, why look, I have breakfast ready" and ignored Stupid Pudding Butt, I mean Dear Magic, who himself was howling like a Banshee, locked outside the porch, Venus and Mim came in, I opened the outside door and he nearly ran me over getting to breakfast.

That easy.

And he seems just fine, tho I haven't got a good look yet, if starving and kind of freaked. He's hiding now. Poor dude.

I've been so worried the last couple days, but I need to tell you, the love, and support, wishes and prayers from all of YOU meant so much. It makes me feel so good about the world that you always step in, sending hugs, offers of search and rescue, the same way you step in helping when when GLBR need rescue help. That so many of you care, and help me save these kitties, well...

It just means so much to me.

I love you so much.

Love and Thank you,
Lorraine

Such glorious news! His stomach will always be his weak point.

(I had a cuddle with Caos yesterday evening and told him to send purring vibes in Magic's direction - we figured he needed them for comfort)

At 06:30 Blogger spacedlaw said...

And I meant to say: How cunning of you to use the local banshee gang to reel him in!

At 06:31 Blogger Lioness said...

When I went to bed last night he was lost. How wonderful that this is the first thing I read this morning.

Big hugs, Lorraine!!!!

That is excellent, excellent news.

I think this calls for coffee. *grin*

Yay! Silly kitty. And that was such a clever way to lead him back!

At 06:37 Blogger Ani said...

Awesome! So glad to hear this.

Tick!

Much relief!

At 06:40 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Soooo happy. I missed him and was pretty worried, wasn't at all sure I'd get him back.

I've always had a sort of, well, live your life, go be free, you get what everyone gets, a lifetime attitude with cats, but he's so special, and he can't take care of himself out there.

Thank you. Again.

At 06:40 Blogger Craig Steffen said...

Yay!

And that was going to have been my next question; how you got ahold of him. As you so often point out, Bengals do not cuddle, as a rule.

Wonderfully, masterfully done! And everyone's back home. Huzzah!

YAY YAY YAY! \o/

NOW you may find this funny (as well as topical).

Oh I'm so pleased. Have been lurking with all fingers and toes crossed that he'd come back soon. Hope he gets over his accidental adventure soon.

At 06:47 Blogger Sylvia said...

YAY! I love a happy ending. Very clever of you.

At 06:48 Blogger FairiesNest said...

Hooray hooray hooray!!!! Such a nice morning post to read!

So very glad he came home!

Wow, between here and Twitter I have started to cry, all because Magic came home and is safe. I am so relieved, for your sake and for his.

Very clever tactic to get him home.

Poster Pudding Cat, I am so so happy.

I actually dreamed about Magic last night. He must have been on my mind. I dreamt that I was driving along in the dark and stopped to get a hamburger. Somehow, Magic got in my car and he was hungry. So I cleverly threw the sandwich into the backseat of my car and then shut the front passenger door. Why it was open in the first place I'll never know. Anyway, I took Magic home where he proceeded to turn my entire house upside down until I could contact you to pick him up.

I'm so glad he came home. What a simple, elegant way to entice him back. I know worrying about him took a toll, but all in all, you were able to get him back fairly easily. I imagined scenarios involving animal control and/or cages. The way you handled it was awesome.

At 07:20 Blogger LihuaEmily said...

So pleased! Yay Magic!

At 07:38 Blogger spacedlaw said...

Now I can only imagine the girls yowling furiously at him to come back otherwise they would never be fed ever again and there would be hell to pay.

At 08:28 Blogger Arwenn said...

Thank goodness!! Very glad to hear that he's home! As a bonus, Venus and Mim will probably not forget this and will make sure Mr. Pudding never tries this again.

At 08:32 Blogger DataGoddess said...

Yay!! I wondered if he'd be able to figure out which house was his home without some sort of sign. Two hungry howling bengals were obviously enough of a sign!

I bet he stays away from open outside doors for awhile. And comes out of hiding soon to tell you all about his adventures :-)

At 08:32 Blogger dabbler said...

What a relief!

At 08:37 Blogger Bill Peschel said...

That's wonderful to hear, and especially that the yowling brought him back. It shows he recognized some element of the function "home," if only the presence of food. With cats, you gotta take when you can get. Bengels doubly so.

At 08:48 Blogger Jane said...

Oh what a relief - and how clever to think of using his buddies.

Whew!

Very good news. Maybe this is a lesson learned for Magic - STAY HOME!

At 09:24 Blogger Heidi said...

There are so many suffering animals out there that it was a relief to have a name and a furry face to pray for last night. I can't help them all, but I can help some of them! Glad he made it home. :)

At 09:46 Anonymous Anonymous said...

Thank the gods! Very happy to hear it. And what a smart and clever girl you are to figure out a way to get him home.
Cheers,
Martina

How very resourceful of you to put out the air raid emergency sirens!

Sooooo happy to see this news :)

Happinesshappinesshappiness!!

In the back of my mind last night, as I cuddled Ford and the two of us sent caring worried vibes to you and Magic, I was wondering if there was a way for Venus and Mim to help. It seemed almost flippant at the time to suggest it, but...

See, years ago, we had a scare that Ford had gotten out because of loud workmen in the house and me not having him properly secured in a room. We looked for him for HOURS, inside and outside. We were frantic. In the end it was Tiger who found him. 20-pounder Ford had somehow wedged himself *inside* the folded frame of the futon couch. Tiger was sniffing around it and, well, POINTING, for lack of a better term. I got down there and dug in and there he was, still freaked out and too scared to meow. We had to disassemble the thing to get him out.

Smart leopard Mom. Very smart. Let hungry leopards call home hungry leopards.

So relieved to hear Magic is home where he belongs. That was a Smart Idea to put the others on the porch and let their hearty meows draw him home. I am so happy to read this good news! Makes my day brighter knowing Magic is home safe w/ you.

At 12:58 Blogger Mary said...

Yes yes yes! Welcome home Magic.

At 14:38 Anonymous Anonymous said...

So glad he's home! I hope he learned something from his Big Adventure (like - home is where breakfast is served, not home is where hunger lives)

At 14:42 Blogger vampi said...

curiousheathen "home is where breakfast is served" is awesome! new catch phrase. i am so stealing this.

At 14:42 Blogger ariandalen said...

SO glad Magic came home! I can just imagine that Venus and Mim were screaming at him, "GET YOUR BUTT HOME! SHE'S NOT FEEDING US UNTIL YOU'RE BACK!"

At 15:31 Blogger Cecily said...

I have happy tears of joy and Magic!

For animals I have never met, my heart is so very connected to them. Love all of you!

I'm so happy to hear it! This is the first I've been able to check today and was hoping for just this news, it made my day!

Leave him alone, and he'll come home, wagging his tail behind him.

Nobody gets to call him Pudding Cat anymore - you all promised.

At 00:03 Blogger spacedlaw said...

I didn't.
But I never called him that, so it's OK.

At 08:35 Blogger Jess said...

Hey, I didn't get that memo. I never promised anything. PLAUSIBLE DENIABILITY, BABY.

At 09:38 Blogger dabbler said...

The Universe has noted we were catless. There are now four kittens and a Mom in our unused chicken house. Only a couple of days old...
Started putting food out for Mama yesterday, and she's eating it. I can't get closer than about 6ft away because of all the stuff piled around the chicken house, so will gradually shift one thing a day to have eventual access. Don't want to scare her into abandoning them. But she has let me stand and look at them for a good long time, glaring all the while. She look fairly well fed.

More on this tale to come...

At 14:21 Blogger Jane said...

Wow, Katie! Whole new family :-) Do continue the tale...

At 20:11 Blogger Chantrelle said...

I was cleaning my house. Well, two rooms of it. But it took 4 hours. And it wasn't a mess. Or that dirty.

Sad really, my complete lack of skill here.

But then did hot tub and Derby DVD's with my Teammate Jinx.

Didn't I get up at 4 this morning?

Why am I still here?

At 22:15 Blogger Dragonsally said...

Yes, you really should be in bed, sleeping.
I've heard that if you don't go to bed and sleep the Easter Bunny won't come.

At 23:59 Blogger spacedlaw said...

Just woke up. Grey-ish weather, hungry cats, tons of food to prepare for lunch (nothing too difficult but the fresh fava beans and pecorino "tiramisu" needs time - if only to shell all the beans).

At 02:34 Blogger Marjorie said...

I'm visiting my parents. The weather is (unseasonably) warm and sunny so we've been outdoors a lot. Seaside yesterday.

At 06:53 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Beeeeees today. Not BEEZ. Which would also bee good. The Buzzing kind. Which also has ZZZ's.

May the coffee should kick in a little more before I start talking...

At 07:27 Blogger Marjorie said...

More bees?
Different ones, or do the ones that just got hives need something else doing?

At 07:49 Blogger FabulousLorraine said...

Four new boxes of bees! Four new hives.

Six lillylanders and a couple of cows.

Nope. Need more coffee still. Clearly.
