Fashion is Everything...

Today's post is on fashion. Not that you can tell from the picture, but it's all I have so Photo Booth it is for you. Been pondering fashion, specifically MINE the last few minutes since an epiphany hit me: Apparently my philosophy on fashion is this: Wear all the clothes you need for the day at the same time, right from the start when you get dressed in the morning.. You never need to change.

I just noticed this. I'm wearing Capri Workouts, topped by Little Black Shorts, topped by Track Leggings. In short THREE pairs of pants. (May be a new record) (For those of you in the UK, we're talking TROUSERS, not knickers. I have none of THOSE on, I mean, with all these pants? WHAT WOULD BE THE POINT???)

I also have on TWO shirts, a tank and a long sleeve. (Two bras for that matter as well, a regular and an inferior Sport Bra I like because it is hot pink, tho sadly, not enough to do the job on it's own)

White socks, not black, if you've been following along on FB, you'll know I lost all of THOSE in a bizarre hunting accident. (Actually the washing machine, just checking to see if you're paying attention.)

That's a LOT of clothes, darn winter, but the leggings and long sleeve take me into work, simply pull 'em off after and Ta-da! You're ready for gym! Handy. No pesky CHANGING,

And since I know some Missie Smarty Pants out there is going to ask, "Hey Fabulous Lorraine, what about PJ's?" Got it covered. Much like knickers, rarely wear 'em. As for saying , "Hey, Quiche MeDeadly.." instead of Fabulous Lorraine, (got lots of names now, never sure who I am), but "Hey, QMD" would be a Derby Girl, and I wish not to quote what SHE would have to say on the subject.

Speaking of Derby, it's Bout Week! Saturday night with the Chippewa Valley Roller Girls! LOVE Bout Week! This one is extra fun as Joan of Dark is coming to Bench Coach, Dill Hero to co-announce with Matt Black, The Birdchick is coming dressed as a Sexy Elf to, well, that is undetermined as of press time yet, but she'll be there too. And the Delavan Dolls are coming to Bout us, and the MN Jr Roller Derby to open the entire event.

Is this fun or is this fun??????

(only one correct answer. Hint: YES.)

I'll be dressed for it. You can be sure.

Love and Fashion,
Lorraine AKA Quiche MeDeadly

  1. I do SO want to see that bout.

Also, glad you clarified the pants thing. I'm guessing even 3 pairs of ( english ) pants would leave tou a bit chilly in the nether regions, in a Wisconsin winter.

Are you going to take your clothes philosophy to weekend wear?

  3. I'm currently wearing 2 pairs of Trousers... one leggings for yoga and one sweatpants for traveling to yoga... and a sports bra, t-shirt, and sweater... and it's not even that cold here! Have fun at the BOUT!

  4. Well, layering is a very practical approach to things.

    Usually.

  5. TWO BRAS?! I can't stand even wearing ONE! You baffle me so. No knickers...right there with you, but TWO BRAS?!

Ok now that I'm past that. We should plan another nighttime video/chat session. Assuming your printer allows you to use your computers for such things. I know Google+ has a video chat thingy for multiple people...haven't used it yet though...

Also, back to the post and away from my tangent, YAY BOUT! Which is actually what made me think of the chat thing, because it would be awesome if it was streamed and us far away could enjoy it too!

  7. This is all proof that you should be coming to Melbourne with The Boss, because layering is a skill we Melburnians pwn - and you would clearly fit right in.

A live chat while watching the bout in the interwebz is a fantastic idea Cecily. Can we make it happen?

  8. Google+ video chat is very easy to use and quite well-designed, but has a limit of ten people.

I've been using it for writing sessions and critique groups.

  9. Well we will have to plan a G+ Fiend Chat!!! We could make two rooms if we get more than ten Fiends that want/can join in! :-D

  12. I'm very excited to be announcing with Dill. And very excited that Joan will bench coaching. And very excited to announce for a Jr. Derby bout... Generally, I'm excited... now just one more day of work and one Dungeons & Dragons game to get through and then... showtime... (well, toss a four and a half hour drive in there somewhere, too)

  15. I have yet to find a style beyond Faded Glory. I have the ballet to attend on Saturday and am thinking maybe I should just go dressed as a Derby Girl.

I wil, FYI, be wearing black pants with studs on the side, patent leather Danskos and a Pink sleveless 1950's shirt with my name and number on the back. Makeup too even! I'll post a link to DDB's pictures, promise!

  17. I'm going to rethink that whole dressing in layers deal. I haven't been doing it right as I seem to have to change clothes about 4 times a day.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sounds like a LOT of clothes to wear all at the same time. Even at this time of the year.

    How's the hand?

  19. Live streaming a bout would be completely WILD. Not sure it can really be done in a way that makes sense.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah, it can. They do it here, and its great if you can't get to the bout!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Can be done, sure, the live streaming. If you ever want to watch some Derby, DNN, the Derby News Network streams Bouts all the time, mostly weekends.

We video all of our Bouts too, and watch them, and learn from them.

    And IT'S BOUT DAY TOMORROW!!!!!

Joan will be here tonight!!! Early practice then quick nap (this never manages to happen, tho it should) then back to the track!!!!

    I'm really excited!!!

  24. Feeling very sad & anxious this evening. Took Tybalt to the vet today as he has upset stomach & seemed generally unhappy.

Vet is now doing blood tests to be clearer, and have given him antibiotics in case it is a water infection, but she thinks it is more serious and was making a lot of comments about his age, how well he copes with mediacaion etc.

I have a horrible suspecion I may have some very hard decisions to make when the test results come.

Good thoughts for Tybalt right now would be very much appreciated.
